US President is now taking a drug for COVID-19.

He didn't say he had the virus but admitted to taking the drug for a week now.
Maybe it's a good preventative drug.

He didn't look to good on the TV News tonight!

COVID-19 is very serious health issue all over US.

Maybe people should be taking this medication.

I honestly think he looks "bad" is because when can he SLEEP? its one problem after another, some virus and lots of Democrats. the hydro stuff he is taking is branded Plaquenil and is a very old malaria medicine. It has a lot of bad side effects like any med does. For 2 years my rheumatologist tried to make me take it for fibromyalgia pain. I refused. Finally she said it was important that I try it. I told her goodbye and to send all my records to my general practitioner. He said I made a wise choice because its basically for malaria....but FDA okayed it for other things too. I think our Prez is just worn out. I know I would be.

The report I saw said he is taking hydroxychloroquinine which is the antimalarial drug he touted as being effective against covid . ...

clinical trials are underway and the fda have already restricted its use because of concerns with cardiac arrhythmias . Not something I would be interested in using . Certainly not a drug that should be used without medical prescription and supervision .

family is distraught - (kid used to adore me when in India)

but Covid is the most stupid way to go!!

it trashes the meaning of life - for those of us left living!

Seems that our medical profession & scientists are the last line of defense.

And so for all of us the most important question should be,
what was China's intent in studying this virus?

If I can understand the intent, I may forgive her accident!

This is my theory and my theory only.

China has a very top heavy elderly population that no longer contributes to society and is a drain on the socialistic system.

This virus specifically targets the elderly and the immune compromised, but not the young like most natural cold virus' function.

This bug was designed to clean off the oldest and weakest section of their society. Of course, since the morals of a socialist country are always in question, they aren't concerned about the eventuality of it escaping their borders and how it effects the world population. Think about it...where have the last bunch of new potential pandemics all originated...

Just think, if Truman hadn't listened to the poisoned advice coming from our communist-compromised state department in 1948-49 about which side to support during the Chinese Civil War, we probably wouldn't have had any of this to deal with. Albeit, we also wouldn't have had the Korean or Vietnam wars either, but that's for another thread.

Sorry for your loss jai . in my country we lost 20 lives to covid ... I may not have know them personally but I am saddened for the grief their families are left with ... and for all those around the world who have suffered . I do not see them as an insignificant statistic . I would never want to be that insensitive and uncaring .

I had expected to read of possible food shortages as a result of the lack of labour during this pandemic lockdown, so I was puzzled to read the opposite, it's not that long ago since most supermarket shelves were empty caused by panic buying. Maybe we are all now a lot more careful in our spending in these uncertain times.

And I know it will be a disaster for people relying on this, but I still feel it is actually good: no asparagus pickers due to travel restrictions = less Easter Europeans. Not selling fish = the fish and other animals who eat fish can now finally thrive again, like it used to. It might do our oceans a lot of good after decades of overfishing.
Funny that luxury cheese doesn't sell, and typical that the Belgians urge their people to eat more fries? Will sure be good to create more coronary disease and diabetics.

All in all, a shift had to come from this pandemic, that's why it had to happen too, to change the way we live. If nothing had gotten affected nothing would change.
So yes, disaster for some, but all big changes come at a price, at first.

Even though my life didn't get impacted much as I don't work, I find that I'm getting fed up with it all. I can't really say what would be different once it's over, but somehow it just feels different.
I shouldn't complain, at least as it is we get some peace and quiet here, not so many tourists, esp less Germans. But I guess from June 1st that will increase again.
Nevertheless... I'm fed up with it!
