Oxford had made a vaccine for Corona and is now being tested in humans.

NBC news Reports from London today.

BTW
People are listening to media that's where most anxiety comes from in US. But Stress will kill you faster than some illnesses.

It where most anxiety comes from everywhere.
I stopped listening to news and reading media stuff almost 5 yrs ago. Makes life a lot nicer and more peaceful.
Some don't understand and say, but then you don't know what's going on?!
So?
I DO know what's going on I just don't need to hear it a gazillion times a day, every day, year in year out.
Only when I do pick up on something that I consider important do I check up on it.
This way I don't have to hear which man stabbed his wife, shot his entire family, or whatever. Chit happens every day. I don't need to listen to the news to know that.
But now I can focus on the positive without all that chit disrupting my flow.

Right now with the pandemic I check the situation once a day to keep an eye on what's happening. Some things you have to know.
But all the other to-do that's going on now, all the fear-mongering... I don't want to know, and I don't need to know.
If the government would really do something stupid, me knowing about it won't change it. So no need to bother myself with it with hearing it every hour on the news.

I sometimes listen to the radio, but when the news begins I switch it off.

You're quite right Crystal. I took down my TV aerial at the end of December 2018 because it had almost nothing on that I wanted to watch apart from the odd comedy program. Since then, my life has been much better and calmer without the hysteria generated by it. I keep up with news when I need to and don't when I don't .

Over here in India, the thinking is...

Covid mortality is largely for those over 65 - and very low for those below 45 (except those with diabetes or other serious illnesses).

Has this been confirmed?

Yes, that was what was being reported before the media turned it into the Black Death that kills people if they look at it sideways.

The Chinese engineered it that way to help clear out the top-heavy "baby boomer" segment of their elderly population.

Nice you've done the same thing!
I haven't watched tv in yonks. I don't like Dutch tv one bit. I used to watch tv when still with my British partner, then UK things. Not news either, but stuff like Jonathan Ross, the Fast Show, and so on. And loads of Discovery and/or National Geographic.
I think the last time I was a normal tv watcher was during my marriage, which ended some 18 yrs ago.

Well you know how it goes. Identify a source of pointless irritation in your life and remove it

Now wondering how to apply that to my neighbours...

I don't believe all the media reports on Corona virus. I have specific research channel that reports Facts.

actually rock .. she has Aspergers . I don’t understand why you find it necessary to comment on her appearance at all . She is a teenage girlpitchfork . You don’t need to like her and of course you are free to ridicule her .. but I can’t help wonder what you gain from doing so .

Gosh... is that girl still doing her thing, whatever that may be...
I once cast one glance at her and decided right away to not watch, read or listen her chit. Reaction I sometimes caught from other people concerning her proved me right: she's just a know it all better who managed to get an audience. A li'l chit stirrer.

As for the BBC article on the Dutch posted by Freebird elsewhere...
Again a very distorted article on how things are going here by the BBC. Typical. Seems they have something against us.
The advice we allegedly gave to singles concerning sex is very sound, yet the BBC chooses to distort it and ridicule it with their title.
Then continuing on to criticise our easing of lockdown by saying we had 200 new cases the day after.
Wow!
Great argument from a country with an average of 3500-4000 new cases a day for weeks on end AND STILL considering easing lockdown!!
WTF is wrong with the BBC? Clearly they got an anti-Dutch bumble bee up their @$$ laugh
I think from all Western European countries we and Germany are doing best!

---------------

Things are going well for us and many other countries: numbers of new cases are going down nicely.

Over here 3rd day on end < 200 new cases, yay!!
I can't wait for that to drop to <100

Uk seems to be stable but still very high and not going down.
USA substantially less but also not really going down much.

Germany, Belgium, Sweden, also less and going down.

Crystal. The BBC don't even like themselves lol
People say its a state run organisation and that is BS. For a long time it's been more anti government on there reporting. They will use a certain country to compare something they want to knock our government on.

I don’t care about coronavirus. I am just glad to be friends with you all. One can try to avoid death all they want but if they never live to begin with, what good does it do.

Cheers All

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article.cfm?c_id=1&objectid=12332895

New Zealand seems to be doing well .. now only 47 active covid cases .. 2 people in hospital ( neither in intensive care ) .....over the last week we have had five days with zero new cases and two days with one new case (both new cases linked to known clusters).

June is the start of winter in nz . So we still have that to get through .

Despite the positive figures we remain vigilant and will continue to test and trace . Quietly optimistic for my country waving

I don't know what is typical BBC. I always took them to be solid reliable news bringers, but this is the 2nd time they come up with something daft so I guess they are biased.
