WOW. Haunting and sad. Reminds me of that feeling I got as a child when it was time to move gain. Or that feeling of when you want the play not to end.

diligently
necessary isn't fun

going through the motions
prolonging life
forget emotion?

it's what everyone
wants for me
to stay in line
to do a favor
to write a rhyme
to read some paper

but there is no meaning anymore
everything is tired
everything's a joke
and i missed the punch line

i won't make a fuss
but quietly wait
and congratulate
the winners that smile
and take their luck

what happens to anticipation?
curious excitement?
exuberance, exultation?
if it amounts not

when energy goes
and interest slows
