i love this structure. I'm hearing music. A woman with deadpan eyes is singing it with special emphasis on each ending.
I especially like this last part

Blind faith rose and carried back home
the one who mattered most
in this catacomb of life
ME...

There is only one person you can truly count on. It's the dirty truth.

This line made me smile...
Every time someone plays, "Queen of the Silver Dollar" he can't help but to smile and envision Ruth doing what she did best
. . making everyone feel loved.

thank you penny

Really loved this one PP. A snapshot of the world today. You make me feel the deterioration.

I especially appreciate these paradoxical lines of truth:

you are beauty and horror
hell's reluctant kiss
the lisp of an infinite wisdom

I think this part is especially good ( i mean well conveyed )
it’s a playground that’s been drowned in blood
love notes and shoelaces caked with mud
it's an owl that doesnt trust the tree
an empty chair on Christmas Eve

And the last two lines ring so true.

Powerful write.

Cool. I like the way this poem unfolds. Starts out in dread but ends on a spiritual message.

I love the way this one took some attention. flowerforyou

Is it that even with strong emotions, life forces us to make rough-cut decisions, which can be messy, often causing unpredictable debris.
But the debris may have a beauty of it's own, as it is also part of life. Maybe a little guilt about that Christmas tree?

Jeez, i hope i'm not completely off after writing all that! lol
I enjoyed.

you are too kind. thank you all :)

It was meant to be tongue-in-cheek, and I love this addiction to emotion that poetry brings out. But the main thing i want to express is that i'm grateful to have you all as friends. I think every one of you is really cool.

reckless derelicts

misguided socialists

depressed anarchists

incurable empathics

mildly sexist

hard-core philosophists

wannabe philanthropists

emotional addicts all!

nicely written. I think this one would do well as lyrics in music. Sort of a "torn between two lovers" type theme.flowerforyou

Her touch
was like a butterfly’s kiss
soft
subtle
and everlasting
it was more than something for me to hold onto
it was my reason for holding on

This is really good.
a butterfly's kiss - how did you ever come up with that?
perfect description, conveys so much. everlasting because you dare not try to capture for fear of harming.

we go about our busy little lives oblivious to the greater part of reality which is the universe. We are so tiny and fragile. I like this line:

The beauty is just as breathtaking as the terror

There is a connection between the inner and outer universe that we are only beginning to discover.
