Sorry for your pain. I am a romantic, so I can see how this could happen to any of us in any setting, not just internet dating. Thanks for sharing. It gives us a heads up over heart strings. Sometimes you get wistful and someone will come along and just sweep us off our feet. We're human, after all. Reminds me to take relationships very slow. Working on that. flowerforyou drinker

I first wanted to be a teacher, then a nurse. I was privileged to following my calling. I retired on Social Security. One of my cases, was to take a high school kid, on a ventilator to school and I got to teach him his history. The best of both worlds!

age is just a number. I seem to attract younger men though. I left my husband 15 yrs ago for an 18 yr old college student. I guess it was my 40's crisis!! He was my daughters boyfriends roommate at college- VA tech-Blacksburg. It was good and I have no regrets. I got bored with him in 6 months though and we split up after a yr together. We remained friends and sometimes lovers until I left VA in 2005.

i met a 25 yr old and a 42 yr old. The 25 yr old was ok, kind of boring. Haven't seen him again. I am still in contact with the 42 yr old, but have only seen him once. We talk on the phone pretty often. He's very nice.
Also met a guy on Yahoo Personals and that is going quite well. He came to the annual McCauley family Christmas party with me on Dec 14. He offered to accompany me to my Dad's funeral yesterday and he did. That was so kind of him. He's a good man. He drives a "mac" truck at night.

That is the most boring song (Gregorian chant) I have ever had the displeasure to hear. I'm not even going to check out the 2nd 1.

Thank you all. His mom died in 1945. Can you imagine the family reunion going on in heaven? I can and it makes me smile through my tears. He loved dogs. Mom did not. I bet he has a dog or more in heaven! Go Daddy!! Finally, he has everything he has ever wanted. I believe.

Thanks all. I feel so little tonight. I know my JSH family is here for me. Thanks MsTeddyBear. I am having pleasant memories of Dad. It's a good thing. I fought the Dr for what dad wanted and he died peacefully, as good as he lived. He and mom retired early and were able to see the world, through cruises. They saw much of Europe when I lived in Germany. They cruised through Alaska, Russia and the Carribean, to The Holy Land and much more. They had time shares in Cancun, Mexico and Ocean City, MD which they could trade for vacations in Hawaii and other places. He and mom were parents of "the baby boomers" and their life was rewarded on retirement. His life was full and I will miss him. My parents are the best people I have ever known and I treasure my life with them and am so happy that they were healthy enough to see as much of the world as they could. To Dad, I raise my glass. I love you!

Your life is just barely starting. Give yourself time to find a man who will not let the fire die. You deserve nothing less. Give it time. When you find the right man, neither of you will let the fire die. Until then, you are just dating, not loving.
