My Christmas celebration is not about stores and carols and presents, but, rather, I am giving thanks and praying that Jesus Christ, the Messiah, has been born.

You are talking about the Old Testament. The Messiah was born. He is Christ, The Lord. We celebrate our own birthdays, we should rejoice that the Savior was born.
Again, Passover is Old Testament. At the last supper with Jesus' apostles, they were celebrating Passover and a new order was given down from Jesus. There is no need to celebrate Passover, because the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world will be crucified. That replaces the Passover Feast, if you believe Jesus is the sacrificial Lamb of God.
Old testament is Jewish history. They did not accept Jesus Christ as the Messiah. They are stuck in history and I cry when I think that they are still waiting for the one who came among us 2000 yrs ago.
There is a progression. Christians cannot read only the Old Testament. The New Testament teaches that the Messiah did come, so, we celebrate His birth. We rejoice!!

Today's Christians do not do these things. We sing songs of celebration that The Lord has truely risen from the dead, body and soul. That promises that we too will rise at judgement and our bodies and souls will be reunited and be with God and all the angels and saints in the "new Jerusalem", which will be on this earth.

Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus Christ, the Messiah, whether He was really born on that day, or not. Christmas is when we celebrate His birth. Easter and Christmas are Holy days. Why do you say they are not?

Easter is the Christian celebration of Christ defeating death, by rising from the dead, showing us we can have eternal life after death in heaven. How is that God's worst enemy?

The virgin Mary was born without original sin on her soul. "Oh, Mary, concieved without sin, pray for us, who have recourse to thee."
Therefore her Son was free from the original sin.

I would bring my 9 mos pregnant daughter and 2 grands here, buy them a house with a yard the kids can play in and help her to have a much better life than she has. Her boyfriend of 8 yrs just got 18 mos in prison for "attempted breaking and entering." He has been in the county jail since september, leaving the family living with his grandmother, who is a saint to take them in. My daughter has spent this whole pregnancy alone. We have given this man many chances. He does the right thing for awhile and then he does something stupid.
I am disabled, on SS disability and live in subsidised housing. No one can live with me.

Kenneth, that is not just annoying, it is rude! I would tell her "I want to watch something on TV. Why don't you go home and play your game where you won't disturb anyone" or "I'm going to bed, so, would you mind leaving. I couldn't sleep with you screaming about your game."
If this is a girlfriend, she is more than rude to do this. Its like, "hi, I want to spend time with you, but, I'm going to play games on my laptop I brought with me, and ignore you."
If she wants to spend time with you, she should leave the laptop at home.
Maybe thats what you should say. "Sure, come on over, but, please leave the laptop at home so we can talk" (watch a movie, listen to music or whatever)

I am against cruelty to any animal. I did not look at the video. I do not want to see that.
I am a cat lover. My cat was rescued. She was neutered and declawed by the rescuer. She is an indoor cat and never gets a chance to hurt another animal. We live on the 3rd floor. I love the birds and squirrels too. My cat sat with me when my dad died and wiped away my tears with her clawless front paws. She has been and continues to be much comfort to me and I to her. I would have loved to have a dog, but, I am too sick to walk a dog. So, I have Sweet Pea-I did not name her. She had a name tag on when she was rescued. We are good for each other.

I have met several men on here that are either from my state or nearby states. I am in MD near PA,DE,NJ I've had dates with a few Marylanders, and one from PA. We remain friends. I guess i have just been lucky. I have had matches from other states, but, I am not interested in any long distance relationships. Hell, the close ones are hard enough! Getting fed up with dating though. Its just easier to be alone. I like me and am rarely bored. I'm beginning to think I just don't need the grief of a full time relationship. Maybe I'm just off keel cause of Dad dying. Time will tell. Anyway, I have met people within 25 miles of me.

aw, thanks. I am good with dads passing. He died a gentle death as he was a gentle man. I was with him when he took his last breath. I miss him, but, I know he is in a better place. Didn't mean to side swipe the thread. Bless you all and little Noah.

I remember. We first met in 1st grade. At recess we played "war". Girls against the boys. I was very tiny. He picked me up and kissed me and threw me on the ground and ran! Lol! Then we went "steady" in 6th grade and again in 10th and 11th grade. I wore his size 11 class ring on a chain around my neck! I always hoped we'd at least get to talk again and maybe more. I was hoping to see him at our 30th class reunion, but, he didn't show up. The girl that planned it said he had driven her nuts asking if I was coming. Don't know why he didn't show. I found out 6 months after I moved back home, that he had died the previous Aug of a massive heart attack. Guess it wasn't meant to be. I wanted it to be though. I will never forget those green eyes. He looked like Elvis, but, was better built. Sigh..........

I didn't know I was the first woman he dated after their breakup til we were seeing each other for about 6 months. I wondered why he was so good to me, but then said mean things, like offhand. Yep! I was the rebound! Then he met my friend from HS. They're in love!! I wish I'd known. I wouldn't have wasted my time!! I really didn't love him, thank God, but, my pride was hurt for a few months. We had some fun dates though! Oh well! Don't want to ever be the rebound again. I now ask questions!! Not a curse, but, not a place I want to be in again.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear this, but, my Dad just went to heaven and I will pray for him to meet and love Noah as he loved us here on earth.
