Traveling to Italy

Oh! Don't be nervous! Italy is a magical place. I enjoyed every city we went to. Pompeii was beyond belief!! I had seen the movie "The Last Days of Pompeii" when I was young and never thought I would go there one day. It was awesome. Naples, Capri and Surrento were very beautiful. Don't miss the Blue Grotto. You are taken by motor boat to rowboats and they row you into a cave with no discernable light. The cave is flourescent pale blue. They don't know why or how it is blue! I think it's only accessible at low tide. You have to lie down in the rowboat to get in to the Grotto. The blood oranges grow down there. Very Yummy! Going to Rome is as close to the Holy Land as I will ever get. St. Peter's Basillica was great. I was moved to tears. I felt the presence of the Holy Spirit there. The Pieta is downstairs there and some past Popes. The Sistene Chapel as well as the hall leading up to it were impressive-try to get a guided tour there. Don't forget to go down in the Catacombs where Persecuted Christian celebrated mass and some died down there, bones remaining. My parents came over from the USA (we were living in Germany for 3 yrs) and I will never forget that 8 day tour. Pisa was pretty also.I did not go up in the bell tower, but my husband, now ex, did. We walked every square inch of Florence, and my leather shoes just burst open!! Nice leather goods in Florence. The Academy of Arts has Michelangelo Bunorotti's DAVID sculpture. The Church of the Holy Cross is where Galileo, Michelangelo and Copernicus are entombed. I'd go as luggage if I could!! Lol! Gosh! I got so caught up there, I totally forgot about the Roman Forum and The Colliseum. I cannot believe I stood and also walked around in the Colliseum!! Too much!! Enjoy. The Italian men do pinch bottoms! Usually in a crowd. It's supposed to be a compliment! I'm not so sure about that!! |

Who was Cain afraid of ?
|
|
If Adam and Eve were the first people and if Cain and Abel were elder and younger sons respectively..then when Cain killed Abel due to jealousy and was being banished..he was afraid. So God put a mark on his head and said that whosoever sees this mark will not cause you harm...Cain being the eldest who was he afraid of? If I were Cain, I would be afraid of living through all the ages, only dying by suicide "no one will harm a hair on your head" and being judged on Judgement day and his final fate sealed, forgiven or not. He is afraid of retribution as promised by God. He is afraid of God. BTW I believe he is at this time Osama Bin Laden. I believe he has been Adolf Hitler and many others throughout time. |

Has Christianity been lost?
|
|
I was wondering if Christianity has become so corroded over the years that the original message has been lost. I don't understand why it is that Christ preached love your neighbor more than yourself, that when you give you shouldn't let your right hand know what your left hand is doing, that you shouldn't be the one to throw the first stone, and that you shouldn't pray on the street corners because your reward would be from men and not from God. So here is my question, why are the Christians of today seen as the most judgemental(against Christ's message) most boastfull(again against Christ's message) most willing to throw the first stone(again against Christ's message) It's gotten to a point where I'm almost afraid to call myself a Christian...but I refuse not to because that is what I am. But why are so many Christians claiming to be Christ-like while they are throwing stones? and praying so long and winded(pride) for everyone to hear how "holy" they are(they have their reward from men) Maybe I intepret the teaching differently but to me being Christ-like is doing things to show love to other's without expecting anything in return...your return will come later. "If someone forces you to go one mile, go with them two" doing things out of pure kindness/love that don't necessarily make sense...but shows something different about you. The devil makes them do those things. Then people keep on out of habit. Nothing good at all comes from hatred. Love lifted me. |

This child is in first grade? Is that what you are saying? That is a lot different than if she were a teen.
A first grader is 6 yrs old and should still be fearful of their parents. This got out of control way early. I would still take privileges and dinner away and then send her to her room so I wouldn't be hearing her whining. |

I'm, with you, madisonman. I would like to add that Bush "stole" the vote, in 2000, due to the debacle of Florida's screwed up system. Who was the Govenor of Fla? Why Jeb Bush, of course!! In mho Bush was never elected by "the people" as President of the United States. He lost the vote by half a million popular votes!! The US Supreme Court reversed a decision by the Florida Supreme Court to allow manual recounts of ballots in some Florida counties.
He is a war criminal. He ignored Congress and made his own rules as he went along. The Iraq war I in 1990 happened because the Bush's owned oil wells in Kuwait. No other reason. George Herbert Walker Bush had to save the family's oil wells!! I moved home from Germany in 1990 after living there for 3 years. There were Marines with machine guns on the roofs of the PX's and Commisaries and American Shopping Center because of prewar "Operation Desert Shield" and threats of terrorism to Americans world wide. I believe the current administration will put George W. Bush and other staff on trial for war crimes, and reckless endangerment of the American people, with no regard for the outcome. I did not vote for Obama, due to his lack of political experience. I did not vote for McCain because he just didn't make any sense and seemed too old and confused to run this country in the state George W. was leaving it. I voted for Ralph Nader-my go to guy when I cannot confidently vote for the party nominated candidates. I do have confidence, after the Inaugural Address by Barack Obama, which totally (should have humiliated Georgy boy)put the blame where it belonged. Obama has already frozen the White House Staff's salaries and ordered Gitmo closed within 1 yr and no further trials, no more interrogating or torture for the prisoners. Its going to be a rough few years to start to straighten out this economy, but, I believe it will be accomplished. More importantly to me, I can, for the first time since 9/11, feel confident in telling my daughter and grandchildren that "everything will be okay, after all." God bless America. Get involved people. Do community service and let's get our country back!! |

Back to the fake pictures using famous people....scammers use those photo's a lot. It's kind of funny, because they will state they have black hair and brown eyes and in the picture they have blonde/red hair and blue/green eyes. It's a clue to me that they are a scammer. I recently saw a profile of a scammer from Nigeria and "it's" pic was one of Tony Bennett!!! They steal pics to represent themselves.

Costa Rica......Arms for hostages.....we gave them weapons. I know this because I was dating a guy in the Army at the time. 1985. He was serving on a ship, and they went to Sandy Hook, NC and loaded weapons and ammo and then went to Nicaragua and Costa Rica. Payment for the hostages release.

vietnam? did u forget we fought a war with them communists and killed a million of them? did u think they were gonna treat us nice? lol That was then, this is now. We fought a war against Germany and Japan too. More heavy than Vietnam!! People vacation in Europe and Japan all the time. I understand Vietnam is a beautiful country to vacation in Asia. The people love tourists, especially Americans. I hear that the beaches are great!! I'd go there before I would go to Costa Rica, that's for damn sure!! |

In Strasburg you can ride a steam train and also there are a couple of places that put on plays. The Bible Onstage is awesome. Saw Noah, The Christmas Story-nothing better to put the spirit of Christmas in you. Its awesome beginning to end. and The Passion. Nothing like being in the Arc with Noah, family and all those animals!! They are all musicals. "Romans" on horses up and down the aisles. pretty awesome. Its in the Lancaster area.
