Ok, that's cool, but when you get ready to write them you find that you are blocked from talking to them because they want someone that lives within a 100 miles.

LOL good luck people on finding someone in your area that close, I have yet to meet anyone within 600 miles of me!

Peccy....I'm one of those people that has the "must live without fifty miles" requirements on my profile. I'd like to think that there are no limits on love, but life and a disappointing long-distance relationship gave me cause to reconsider.

For me, I know that I want a long-term relationship. That usually requires dating, spending time together, and being involved in each others lives for a while. That's a whole lot easier if the person you are involved with lives close by. Now I don't discount that you can find love online but, for me, I prefer local. Since joining the site in June-July '07, I've been pretty busy getting to know some great guys right here in my own backyard. We actually go out on real dates ~ what a concept! For me, it's working and I'm glad.

Bottom line, we all set our own preferences and, frankly, I'd rather be honest about it up front. Just remember, it's not personal...it's just a preference!

I have met several men on here that are either from my state or nearby states. I am in MD near PA,DE,NJ I've had dates with a few Marylanders, and one from PA. We remain friends. I guess i have just been lucky. I have had matches from other states, but, I am not interested in any long distance relationships. Hell, the close ones are hard enough! Getting fed up with dating though. Its just easier to be alone. I like me and am rarely bored. I'm beginning to think I just don't need the grief of a full time relationship. Maybe I'm just off keel cause of Dad dying. Time will tell. Anyway, I have met people within 25 miles of me.
