The Fed gave the stimulus money to the States. If they pissed it away and didn't create any jobs, it's their fault. half the states are going bankrupt too... what were they supposed to do? They (States) were supposed to submit a list of shovel ready projects that would help create some employment in their States. The federal government didn't make up the lists, it was up to the States. What did the idiots in your State submit? Have you ever looked into it? Here is a link http://stimuluswatch.org/2.0/performance_places/state/TX no, can't say that i have... we are a little short here in texas, but not like Michigan or Cali. the link doesn't work. The link works just fine on my PC..... Speaking of which, I noticed there are thousands and thousands of $$ being spent from the stimulus money for laptops, notebooks and pc's in some place called Round Rock, TX. Maybe you could go get you a new one? |

Unemployment extensions won't last forever. Then, there will be a couple new layers added to the homeless sector. On the bright side. Husseins unemployment numbers will show less folks unemployed. President Obama wanted to see the small business bill passed but the GOP wants to keep blocking it. When are you going to figure out that the GOP does NOT want to see the economy turn around? |

I have had attacks attempted from here too in the past.
They were caught by my anti-virus software and blocked. Now it seems this site also has allowed these nasty little pop ups that get thru my pop up blocker. |

" ... whatever the city politics of new york is, what does it have to do with him? doesn't he have a country to run? ... " That 'having a county to run' thing didn't bother him overly much when he decided he could intervene in the affairs of PRIVATE INDUSTRY (say 'GM' and Chrysler') and fire GM's president and then effectively nationalize two out of three private businesses. That was just the start of his sticking his nose into PRIVATE free-market enterprises. He could care less about 'running the country' - he's running it into the dirt, and that's all he really cares about. Yup, bailed out Chrysler with $15 billion......bailed out Texas with $19 billion. Chrysler was the better deal. |

This is America!! We do not need the filthy mosque's in this country. Amendment 1 - Freedom of Religion Ratified 12/15/1791. Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Seems you guys only have yourselves to blame...when you complain about what other countrys do or dont allow, remember YOUR CONSTITUTION provides the means for what is happening in your own back yard. Yup, President Obama defends the Constitution and gets attacked by the right wing. Go figure. constitution or not, there are other places to put that mosque... and obama never should have said anything about that... he be sticking his nose into local politics.... Sticking his nose into local politics? Since when is defending the Constitution considered local politics? "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the Office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." I'll say this too, if we didn't have our (USA) noses stuck into the politics of the middle east, I doubt we would be having this discussion. We were never intended to be an empire. Think about it. |

I love all these comments from people who don't live in Arizona....I DO live here...and am a native.
Just to clear up a couple points, Jan Brewer is not seeking re-election....she was never elected. Brewer previously served as Secretary of State of Arizona until then-Governor Janet Napolitano resigned after being selected as Secretary of Homeland Security in January 2009. Brewer became Governor of Arizona as part of the line of succession, as determined by the Arizona constitution. SB 1070 was sponsored by Arizona State Senator Russell Pearce. He was the one pushing the legislation that was signed into law by Governor Brewer. Sheriff Joe Arpaio will not run for Governor. He's 78 years old now and is the most popular Sheriff this state has ever seen. He enjoys the position he currently has and as far as I understand, he has no intentions of doing anything else. Now, here is the thing that really gets me about securing the southern Arizona Border. Our southern border is about 360 miles long. There are currently about 3,600 Border Patrol Agents patrolling our Arizona border with Mexico. That comes to about 10 Agents per mile. Why the hell can't they secure it! If I was in charge, I would build 360 Border Patrol Staions....one every mile along the entire border. If they cost $1 million a piece, that's cheap. Staff each outpost with 10 Agents that we currently have on payroll. Now if these outposts are a mile apart, they should be able to detect any movement between each other...maybe deploy lasers and non-lethal weaponry to deter anyone who attempts to cross. Could solve this whole damned issue with a measley $360 million appropriation for construction. And think of the jobs this could create? Just my idea.... |

Fannie Mae, Citi, Wells Fargo and BofA are the lenders most all Illegals go to for credit cards, home and auto loans. They were under investigation once, suspected of running the scam of knowing, illegals run a higher risk of defaulting and the loan institution taking and reselling properties. Why would decent Americans wish to support the Pro-Illegal? You know what, everybody beetches about the Big Banks and the TARP and bailouts and all this kind of crap.....Then the go and put THEIR MONEY in these institutions. Whenever I hear someone b!tch about the banks, the first qustion I ask them is "Who do you bank with?" I bank with a local Credit Union. People need to get smart. |

From what I heard, there is a plan coming that will allow Fannie to directly modify your mortgage and lower the principle if you are upside down in your loan.
This will directly benefit many homeowners who are struggling. Plan B would be to allow those people who are upside down with a high interest loan, to allow them to refinance directly with Fannie to a much lower interest rate. Many people can't get a refi to the current low rates because they are upside down in their mortgage. Interest rates are lower right now than they have been in 50 years. |
