Wow, you really have gone OFF the DEEP END with this thread! laugh

I live in Mesa, Arizona. NO Socialists here! This has to be one of the most CONSERVATIVE Mormon communities in the entire State of Arizona with a conservative Mayor, Conservative City Council and a Conservative Governor. Mesa, AZ is also in the heart of Maricopa County with a Conservative Sheriff named Joe Arpaio. Maybe you're heard about us?

We have been recycling here for as long as I can remember. You have these big barrels (80 gallon or so) on wheels. Everybody has 2, a black one for regular trash and a blue barrel for recyclables. You can also ask for and receive a green barrel for yard trimmings that is taken away and composted.

The recycle barrels were fitted with the microchips over a year ago. You earn points every time they pick it up, depending on the weight. You can go to the website and redeem your points for more beer if you want to and recycle the cans. Wine bottles too. It didn't cost us anything as it was rolled out as a pilot program.

Make sure you focus on your people skills and your ability to get along with others in a diverse work environment. Focus on a positive work attitude.

You can teach people technical skills very easily, it's much harder to teach people how to get along.

Good luck! drinker

Will the golden age of enlightenment that is upon us mean an end to current established religions and their churches?

..Or will there always be religious groups calling each other "enemy" and "evil" and trying to force their religion upon them?

How many will die before we learn to love and forgive?

what age of enlightenment? people dont seem much different than they have ever been before,,,,certainly no more enlightened about love and forgiveness( which by the way, are values my baptist church reinforced)

I am speaking of the golden age which follows the current age. It is the age of Aquarius that follows the age of Pisces.

And I don't know about your view of the world and I suppose each person sees the world differently, but I can see a great deal of enlightenment and consciousness growing in the world (and of course that is why the opposite, the darkness, has to rear its head to keep the balance.)

I do see things changing... a lot.

oh, ok, Im not astrologically inclined, so I wasnt aware of those types of things. I see things changing too, I just wouldnt consider it 'enlightenment' ..seems more like people are dumbing down and egoing up

I agree drinker

yeahhhhh F the oil companies!

AND the 9 million people they employ

and the $5 billion a month that they add to our economy

and every bit of plastic and pharmaceuticals and even cosmetics that comes from petroleum

back to horse drawn carriages!

And don't forget about all the health problems caused by plastics.

And the future problems we will be facing due to the fertilizers.

I remember when we were all being told how wonderful asbestos was.

It just gets me how these companies F up and then the Fed Gov't has to get involved in the response. I am sure it won't be very long until they start blaming President Obama for the response.

NEW ORLEANS — Government officials said late Wednesday night that oil might be leaking from a well in the Gulf of Mexico at a rate five times that suggested by initial estimates.

In a hastily called news conference, Rear Adm. Mary E. Landry of the Coast Guard said a scientist from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration had concluded that oil is leaking at the rate of 5,000 barrels a day, not 1,000 as had been estimated. While emphasizing that the estimates are rough given that the leak is at 5,000 feet below the surface, Admiral Landry said the new estimate came from observations made in flights over the slick, studying the trajectory of the spill and other variables.

Admiral Landry said President Obama had been notified. She also opened up the possibility that if the government determines that BP, which is responsible for the cleanup, cannot handle the spill with the resources available in the private sector, that Defense Department could become involved to contribute technology.

Now wait a minute....where the hell is Sarah Palin with her "Drill Baby Drill" speech?? And why the hell can't the Private Sector handle this spill?? Call in the government? Seriously??

F the oil companies! devil

deep,, life will go on

I said repeatedly that I first of all dont think socialism is terrible, unlike what Russia or Germany had and secondly if its anything like Russia or Germany had,,,where government actually CONTROLLED everything,,we are far from it just because we now pay taxes towards the healthcare americans have access to.

You mean forced to buy.

If it was only more access, the issue wouldn't be NEARLY as hot as it is.

The fact is, this government is, indeed, intruding on our lives by forcing us to buy something.

Why is the Republican Government in Arizona FORCING me to buy auto insurance?

Can some conservative please answer that one for me???
