All I have to say is that unless you live in AZ and have fisrt hand knowledge of what is happening and what the problem is, all you have to go on is the propaganda that you are being fed.

Off topic but, still in the genre of your post. If man evolved from the apes, why are there STILL apes? Should they have not also evolved?? Is evolution so particular in its species as to which ones move up the line? Do some have to lag on the evolutionary ladder?

Scientists agree that all domesticated dogs today evolved from wolves....and we still have wolves.

This is because of man's intervention with selective breeding of the species over thousands of years.

Maybe we are the selective breeding experiment of some extra-terrestial beings?

Just a thought.

Seakolony, you be VERY CAREFUL if you go down there to volunteer for the clean up!! Go watch the documentary on the Exxon Spill!!

And I was just watching the news and the had the CEO of Nalco on. He was touting how safe all these dispersants being used are. (Nalco makes the dispersants). Then after awhile, he goes on to say that Nalco will not be held liable for any lawsuits as it is the first responders (BP OIL) making the call on using the disperasants.

I wouldn't trust any of those basterds and hpe they all get brought up on criminal charges.

This is one of those times that it finally (maybe ... ?) comes home to people that elections have consequences.

Elections have nothing to do with it. Get real. slaphead

I just watched a 2 hours documentary about the Exxon spill in Alaska, 20 years after. People should watch that and learn.

Exxon hired everyone they could, thousands of locals, to assist in the cleanup effort. Now, many of those people are extremely ill with serious medical conditions caused by the exposure to the oil and the chemicals used in the cleanup.

Nobody was wearing proper personal protective equipment and they were told it was safe.

I saw it happen again on 9/11....when all those Firefighters were working without PPE's....now many are sick and dying. I was saying at the minute I saw it happening that it was a huge mistake, turns out it was.

People get in a crisis situation and panic and just want to hurry, jump in and do something. That's not the proper way to go about it. People need to be properly trained and wear proper equipment.

I would like to see the end of the pipe. I had a situation where the main water shut off was broke. And it was leaking big time under a sink. I cut it off with the water on, and slammed a compression fitting valve on it. Then just shut the water off. It didn't take six weeks more like 20 minutes and that included going to the hardware for the valve.

Yup, that sounds like a better solution than what they have been trying. A compression fitting slipped on the end of the pipe with the valve open...then close the valve.

I see now they will be trying to cut the pipe and put a cap on it....I don't see how that will work with the pressures.

I am also familiar with doing "Hot Taps" on water mains. Just don't know what those robots are capable of doing that deep.

It really makes me sick that some people are turning this into a political issue. This is a HUGE man-made disaster unlike anything we have ever seen before. If this continues, as it appears it will, the devastation will be felt for decades in the gulf coast states and possibly the entire USA.

I agree TJN, the thing that amazes me is that they can't get this stopped!

I would think a rig as well engineered as this was, should have had more redundancy in valves to shut off the damn flow. All I can relate it to is my house plumbing. If my sink faucet fails, I can shut off the water under the sink at the angle stop. If the angle stop fails to shut down the flow, I can shut off the main as it comes in the house. If that valve fails, I can shut it off at the meter valve.

I really think they need to take a look at the enginnering of all the wells they have drilled offshore and implement better safety to keep this from happening someplace else.

The United States of America is a sovereign nation with borders and laws. These borders and laws must be respected and protected.

Christians believe that you must follow the laws of God to enter heaven. Heaven just doesn't allow anybody in....they even have a fence built and a gate (pearly) that is guarded by a saint.

I still don't understand why so many Tea Party loyalists love Sarah Palin yet she endorses these typical Republican candidates. She is out here endorsing McCain in his bid for re-election.

I have a strong feeling McCain is not going to be re-elcted either.

It seems these days you have to run everything thru SNOPES and there is more bogus information being spread all the time.

I shudder to think how many people out there believe the False Information they are being bombarded with and are reacting accordingly.

People need to check things out.

Thanks for the Snoping. drinker
