Making me laugh ... nice save Larsson !!!!
There is a good rivalry between Australia and nz but I much prefer the kiwi accent As for Boris ...I have to agree with you (but that is just between you and me okay ., would not want to offend his fans ) . Jacinda (nz prime minister ) has given him some pointers and he implemented an alert level system similar to what we use . There are clear guidelines when it is safe to move down a level . Hopefully he will be guided by the system and advice from his health ministry . There is a review happening here looking at the way bereavements And funerals were handled during Each stage of lockdown . It was very distressing for families and hospital staff . We always encourage and support family to be present throughout end-of-life cares . The review will address how we can meet those needs and keep everyone including the hospital environment safe . Glad you are managing to stay in contact with family . The whole social distancing concept feels unnatural and surreal .. but more so with kin . Thank goodness for social media and technology .. keep up the good work ... lovely to hear you and your family are safe |

Cool as a Bull, BlondeyNever knew Boris Johnson, had any fans? Are they fans of him being Prime Minister, over here, or when he used to play the Honey Monster, in the Sugar Puffs adverts? The lockdown seems about to be loosened in the UK, although it remains to be seen what the result of this will be. I have an appointment for a glaucoma pressure test on June the 22nd but I'll be cancelling that. I won't be travelling by public transport any time soon or sitting for several hours in a Hospital room full of people.

It'll still be lockdown procedure here in Scotland. If you don't believe me try driving to Scotland, the day after the lockdown is eased in England? The Scottish Police, will just turn you back around again. Boris Johnson's incompetence, has already cost lives and will continue to do so, if he ends the lockdown period, too early. Another wave of this could sweep the Country, if that happens! |

Depends on what is more important... if the test is vital for your eyes, I'd not cancel it, at least not yet. June 22nd is a month away. Over here we have to wear a face mask in public transport per June 1st. You could do that, and keep it on until you're with the doctor. |

Over here we have to wear a face mask in public transport per June 1st. You could do that, and keep it on until you're with the doctor. That's true but it's also for a ridiculously early time in the morning, 9:20. I can't possible get there for that time, seeing as the Hospital is several miles away and the buses don't start that early here, so I'll have to cancel it anyway and that will put the appointment back by at least a month. It's usually a five to six hour round trip for five minutes of testing. It's really just a box-ticking exercise for the NHS, so that they can say that they've seen me. The chances of them catching some serious development in that five minutes once a year is minimal. The most absurd aspect is that there is a huge community health centre 10 minutes away in Rawtenstall that has Opthalmologists and the equipment to do these tests but I can't go there because they aren't on my GP's accredited list. |

Oh that sux. We are getting systems like that over here more and more as well. I call it the American system. Never used to be that way until a few years ago, you could just go anywhere. Just that over here it's not the GP who determines it but healthcare insurance company. If it's not like an important health risk to not go I can understand cancelling. If I may ask... have you ever considered seeing Joe Dispenza when he gets to London? Or book a session with Marisa Peer? Thing is, there's only a mere 5% or less of all illnesses/diseases that is genetic. Meaning almost all have a different cause, related to limiting beliefs and whatnot. We easily say 'It runs in the family' but that is truly rarely the case... That is scientifically proven, epigenetics etc. Joe Dispenza works with that, so does Marisa Peer (She is British). People who have been blind from birth walk away from Dispenza's week-long with good vision... Just one example. It'll likely cost a fair bit, but if it works... |

In this case, given the early onset and two other brothers who also developed it about the age of forty, it probably is hereditary. I suppose if I wait another ten to fifteen years, someone's bound to come up with a viable replacement that comes with zoom and split screen functions .

I told my mate that you could go to Autoglass with a prescription from your Optician and they'd make you up a windscreen, to the same strength as your glasses and he believed me!

You nutters, hahaha.
As of today we can have our southern neighbours visit the country again. Great... So now we can get overrun by Germans -who were already here again- AND Belgians. Isn't life grant. Means we people who live here cannot go anywhere anymore really. This morning the supermarket was so busy they had people wait before they could go in so it wouldn't get to crammed inside. And we're still not at full tourist capacity, I believe that starts June 1st with more tourists allowed to come. Numbers keep steady here and today went a bit lower again. Fingers crossed! As far as I could see the only country that still isn't going down is the USA, and Brazil is still on it's way up in a very steep line. |

#Coronavirus: The mystery of 'silent spreaders' http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-52840763 Spread before symptoms show What was revealed was what's known as "pre-symptomatic transmission" where someone is unaware of being infected because the cough, fever and other classic symptoms have yet to begin. Along with many others, this study highlighted a critical period of 24-to-48 hours before the visible onset of the disease in which people can be highly infectious, perhaps even their most infectious. Being aware of that is potentially invaluable, because as soon as you realise you're ill then everyone you've been in close contact with can be warned to stay at home. Some people never show symptoms This is an even more mysterious scenario, and one that scientists simply have no definitive answer to. It's one thing to know that people can be infectious before their symptoms show, quite another when they become infected but never have any sign of it. I guess this all makes the 'Track and Trace' of all contacts very important in reducing the number of future infections. |

Thinking... restaurants will probably be insanely busy! Especially today, it being the first day they're allowed to open up again -with restrictions that I expect won't be met- and it being Whit Monday and glorious weather.
There are chitloads of tourists here and I'm sure they all want to go to a restaurant. I wonder how many will get disappointed as they have to keep space between tables so not on top of each other as usual. And restaurants can only accept customers who made reservations. And I believe they only do 2 sets of times for dinner to prevent a constant coming and going of people. |

They opened up Missouri at the beginning of last month but still have stringent restrictions for restaurants limiting them to 25% capacity. Many of the restaurants decided to stay closed, if they didn't have take-out/delivery abilities because they couldn't run in the black with those limits instituted. Many of the event venues down in Branson were also complaining about opening up and not being able to fill enough seats to break even. The news was interviewing people and most expressed surprise that there were not more people out and about. |

Many here also do take-away now, but I have no idea whether or not they can stay in the black. I'd say it's better to open with limiting capacity than closed as they don't make anything at all when closed while certain costs do continue as normal. Like having to pay part of employees wages, rent/mortgage etc. We do have many more people here now as this is a tourist area. THE biggest tourist area of the country, apart from Amsterday which is more day-tourists, here is where they spend their holiday ==> weeks on the campsite, going to the beaches. During the seasons there's thousands more tourist here than regular people and I believe as of today campsites are allowed to have more tourist % as well. It was already crazy, it'll only get worse now. |
