I don't hate. I just don't give a damn. You know, Jeanniebean, that's not the same thing at all. Yes I know. |

wux said... I got hung up on the same thing. You can hate a child rapist, but you can't hate child rape. What do you think "hate" means? I've quoted the dictionary definition a couple times. You are on a computer, simply Google it. Hate: Feel intense or passionate dislike Are you saying that I can't feel intense dislike for the act of raping a child? |

If you think about it and get all worked up about it, you can get as passionate as you want in your hating of it Spider. But is that the kind of thing you normally do? Sit around getting all worked up hating something? Really? Emotion is something that takes energy. Is that a good thing to think about and do? |

Let's define our terms. What does "Hate" mean? I know, right? Good luck. From Merriam-Webster: Definition of HATE 1 a : intense hostility and aversion usually deriving from fear, anger, or sense of injury b : extreme dislike or antipathy : loathing <had a great hate of hard work> 2 : an object of hatred <a generation whose finest hate had been big business — F. L. Paxson> |

Intense and extreme are words that were in the definition I just posted. Those words don't describe something that takes no energy at all. |

So you are saying that you have to work up to hating child rape. What, are you normally kind of ambivalent to child rape? If you are tired, you can't really be bothered with it, huh? Maybe in the morning I can hate it, right now, I just need some sleep. Hey! Maybe if you drank an energy drink, you would have the energy to hate child rape instead of just feeling so-so about it. |

Is that you, applying egg to your face? Just start agreeing with me, you'll be right a lot more often. |

I am not a supporter of war for a bunch of reasons. I just don't think it works . I am not naive either and know that humans have to fight about something. Fine The leaders put on big plastic Sumo wrestling suits and get into a ring No guns ... no innocent children No faceless, nameless soldiers to hide behind No death No destruction to the planet or the food and water supply It is a world wide pay per view event Proceeds pay for schools, hospitals, food, clothing, shelter for the most impoverished The leaders run at one another in all their rage I can't imagine anyone being able to do that for more than 20 minutes without: 1. being completely exhausted 2. laughing hysterically Even the crankiest couldn't hold out more that 90 minutes That is a war I would support Sumo wrestling? How violent. Why don't we have the leaders play a game of chess? I would rather our leaders were voted in because we felt they could win a chess game than to have them voted in because we think they'd make good sumo wrestlers. ~~~~ Ok, let me clarify,... I'm not against sumo wrestling, I'm just for the chess thingy. Because Chess isn't funny ... we need the humour factor and some physical movement to discharge all that anger! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1FDSXSlpmg |

We agree on four things already, it's just a matter of time before you think just like me. Serious question: You don't intensely dislike child prostitution, murder, rape or genocide? Where did I say I didn't? Of course I wouldn't like any of those things. Did you really even need to ask? I also didn't say I didn't hate anything. I did point out that there are others who don't hate things, or don't hate many things. Do I hate a lot? No. As I've said, for the most part, hate is a waste of energy and I try not to be so negative about things all the time. |

I don't get upset over words. I don't waste my energy on such thought nor do I waste my energy on emotional feelings of hate. |

Sometimes negative energy can be good.
In the wintertime I split wood for heat. It takes a lot of energy to split logs. I found that it helps if I imagine the logs are the heads of people I'm well pleased with. One day I went out imagining the logs were heads of George W. Bush and I think I split about four cords that day. It felt good to get it out of my system. It also felt good to be nice and toasty on those cold winter nights with the heat that was generated from my labor of my rage. |
