Let's not confuse skepticism and derision for pouting. We both laugh, just for different reasons.

You laugh at me because I'm different. I laugh at you because you're all the same.

I beg to differ with you .. I am about as far from a 'groupie' as there is.

I'm a rebel thru and thru. Just ask my former employer's HR dept. I was in there more than in my office sometimes.

Again .. back to the original question ..

HOW'S THAT WORKIN FOR YA?

My point for the thread was just that ^^ if it works for ya hey .. Happy for YOU.

You laugh about taking a skeptical attitude, I laugh at you bein so funny about it.

Balance in life is EVERYTHING. If cynicism gets you down, then please .. change it up. That's ALL I'm sayin:wink:

I'm not knocking your perspective, just don't be cynical about mine

I easily sustain joy and happiness in the very same system that runs cynicism through my entire being. I'm grateful to call it part of my toolkit of wisdom

We are the sum of many things. For me, it is a very synergistic QUALITY that throws great light on every path I travel. Maybe that's just me, I'm multi-tonal. Long live rainbows!

Wouldn't do that. You know me better.

However, there's only two things in life I have absolute faith in: Jesus, and the Green Bay Packers.

That's it.

And the PACK can let us down. LOL

I agree about God though .. for sure smokin

It's just that I believe HE has the ability to change anything.

I guess I see cynicism as robbing HOPE. ohwell And life without hope is well ............

((((((((( HOPELESS ))))))))))))

Admittedly, there have been times when I've raised an eyebrow about Jesus, but in the end, it's not for me to question.

Cynicism is a state of mind culled from plenty of experience, leading one to see the true nature of things. If seeing the realistic side of things makes it "negative", then so be it. At least one remains true to oneself instead of allowing fantasy to absorb them.

Exactly. And being one who's had his share of negative experiences, this is the truth.

Bah Humbug indeed.

When I just commented, I hadn't read the thread. I was just responding to the query.

Odd that cynicismic is being dressed in pessimism, as if the definition of it. Many of the naysayers are actually expressing belief in cynicism and allergy to pessimism, just using the wrong words to define.

There's more agreement here than meets the eye, if one reads between the lines. Seems more a accurate terminology and logic issue.

Cynics Anonymous anyone? I'll go first. I'm Dancere and I'm a cynic. There, that wasn't so bad.

Of course not. I just choose to take things as they come without being cynical about it. I also choose to enjoy life, rather than only living to work and pay the bills.
