It's just that most people don't care except for the ones who are conspiring against you.

If they are so stupid (assuming by elimination you are so smart) what do YOU need defense from THEM for?
 i need to defend myself against them because if i took them seriously they would drive me insane be seeing you

But really - It doesn't matter how hard you work, how cute you are, how much you sacrifice for others. There is always more. It's unending. And you won't get anywhere in the end...

So, Why Bother?! laugh laugh laugh

Sometimes its amusing to me to see in open written forum the lack of feeling and expression in writing. On forums people use emoticons to express how they feel as they write. The dual communication at the same time is wonderful but nothing new. Aztecs and native americans, and egyptians all had written phonetic alphabets with pictures to both let the reader understand the communicate and the feeling and the power and the energy involved. I pride myself on having 20,000 posts without a smiley face emoticon. The reason I do not use them is I find for the most part I can get my point across in my writing prose. I'm guessing maybe 70% of the time people understand what I'm saying. And like everything else I find that emoticons are overused and abused frequently on here. We do not have one for cynic. Maybe we should. I even thought of describing expressions and feelings in parentheses during and after written prose on here so people really have no doubt the point I'm trying to get across.(because I'm frustrated with lack of communication). I'm still surprised at how a mild cynic is misrepresented. I use humor in my cynicism to keep it from being and sounding completely negative, pessimistic, and droll. For I don't live my life completely cynical. I'm a very positive person who believes in faith. I just used the cynacism as a defense mechanism coping tool. But I use it well and in context. But I don't "Live it". Its been a good thread judy. It might spin off a few more. But the point us cynics were trying to get across is that not all cynics are morbid manic depressant doom and glooms. I have seen women that are positive to the core with everything in their lives except some past horrible relationships. And then I've heard some of the most cynical banter I've ever heard in my life. And people confuse their comments with pure negativity and anger and bitterness. When in reality- it is "I will believe it when I see it" cynacism. So, maybe I have to explain myself with written feeling or use emoticoms correctly to get my point across.

TYVM LHB .. I appreciate that you see the use of the thread. I think it's been a good debate overall, even though I did not ever intend it to come across as attacking ANY mindset. It's merely a question I had as to WHY and HOW cynicism encourages anyone.

I guess because I am one. An encourager that is. If we see life only from the stark reality it CAN be a very cold world indeed. I believe LOVE and KINDNESS can change that. Guess I like the challenge

Oh this one ohwell could be a LITTLE cynical couldn't it?

It is isn't it. I think that's the best reason to use emoticons. Not to get across emotion, but to break up sentences
