THE REAL PENTAGON POLL: 91% REJECT HOMOSEXUAL LEADERS. 85% OF COMBAT MARINES DISTRUST, 71% WON’T SHARE SHOWERS, 24% WON’T RE-ENLIST.

HALF MILLION TROOPS, ONE IN FOUR, WOULD LEAVE THE MILITARY

Former Navy Chaplain Gordon James Klingenschmitt just read the full Pentagon report on repeal of Don't Ask, Don't Tell, and here's his analysis:

"Don't believe the phony liberal media reports that 70% of troops support open homosexual service, because that statistic included 'mixed' feelings. A closer reading of the fine print in the newly released Pentagon survey shows our troops answered as follows:

Q45. If you had a leader whom you believed was gay or lesbian…9% positive, 91% negative or mixed impact on unit's performance.

Q68c. 85% of Marine Combat Arms, 75% of Army Combat Arms, 64% overall say Negative, Very Negative, or Mixed impact on unit trust if DADT is repealed.

Q90. 29% would take no action if assigned open showers with homosexuals. 71% would shower at other times, complain to leadership or chaplains, don't know or do "something else" [including violence].

Q81. 24% will leave the military or think about leaving sooner than planned. (One half million troops will QUIT the service early, destroying our national security.)

Q80. 6% will positively recommend service to others after repeal. 94% feel negative, mixed, no effect, or don't know about recommending military service to others. (Destroying recruiting efforts.)

Q66. If open homosexuality impacts combat performance, is the impact...9% positive, 91% negative or mixed impact.

Q71. 11% feel positive or very positive about permitting open homosexuality in field environment or out at sea. 60% negative or mixed. 19% no effect.

Q73. 5% say repeal would positively boost morale. 41% say negative or mixed impact morale. Rest no effect or don't know.

In summary, the real statistics prove our nation faces a NATIONAL SECURITY DISASTER if Don't Ask, Don’t Tell is repealed, and open homosexual aggression is forced upon our troops against their will.”

The Army private who stole all those thousands of documents did it because he was gay and upset over don't ask don't tell.Isn't that grand! These documents had the possibility to ignite World war 3 but would be worth it to gay private who made his statement by putting the entire world into conflict.

the bottom line is that straight men dont want to serve with gay men because they know how much pigs men are and cant stand having to deal with the shoe being on the other foot for a change.....

rofl

I think it is more the idea of gay men having sex on a daily basis with other men regardless of where they are serving and the fact that straight men would have to deal with watching and listening to it.Why do you think men and women live in separate barracks on military bases? You have any idea what would happen if men and women lived in the same barracks on military bases?Hundreds of men and women living under the same tent?

You want to hear and deal with couples gay or straight making out and having sex right next to you? When you are over in Iraq or Afghanistan you don't have the luxury of your own private room where you can do what ever you want.Everything you are doing you are sharing it with 50 other people. That is why men and women don't live together and that is why gay men and women are not allowed. The 50 or 100 people living with you don't need to see your kissing, fondling, panting, and ultimately arguing, bickering, and fighting.

You want to be openly gay with your boyfriend or girlfriend?Better have a separate tent where you can do what ever you want because I doubt if 5-10 people will tolerate it let alone 50-100.

You naive athiests are probably going to say, 'See what the bible does to you'.

Well, wrong again. This guy was obviously dabbling with the Masons. Many in Hollywierd join in order to further their careers. Remember the Kung Fu guy story?

The voices in his head? There is technology that can do that. His friendly Masonic 'brothers' probably decided to play a little game with him. Either that or he picked up a demon in one of their ceremonies.

We could probably spend several months debating the freemasons which is deeply rooted in all sorts of strange rituals including drinking blood from a human skull.

This man was obviously totally insane.I know people are going to blame Christianity as always. But of course there will be no justification for what he did no matter what you read in the Old and New testaments.Even when Jesus was being arrested Peter drew his sword and sliced off one of the priests ears and Jesus told him to put his sword away and healed the priest ear back to normal.

This story is just one of thousands over the years around the world where people religious or Atheist heard voices in their heads telling them to kill. You will find most murders did hear voices in their head telling them to kill shortly before the murder.Religious or not mental illness is always the prime suspect.

Americans, I have some bad news for you:

You have the worst quality of life in the developed world – by a wide margin.

If you had any idea of how people really lived in Western Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and many parts of Asia, you’d be rioting in the streets calling for a better life. In fact, the average Australian or Singaporean taxi driver has a much better standard of living than the typical American white-collar worker.

I know this because I am an American, and I escaped from the prison you call home.

I have lived all around the world, in wealthy countries and poor ones, and there is only one country I would never consider living in again: The United States of America. The mere thought of it fills me with dread.

Consider this: you are the only people in the developed world without a single-payer health system. Everyone in Western Europe, Japan, Canada, Australia, Singapore and New Zealand has a single-payer system. If they get sick, they can devote all their energies to getting well. If you get sick, you have to battle two things at once: your illness and the fear of financial ruin. Millions of Americans go bankrupt every year due to medical bills, and tens of thousands die each year because they have no insurance or insufficient insurance. And don’t believe for a second that rot about America having the world’s best medical care or the shortest waiting lists: I’ve been to hospitals in Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Singapore, and Thailand, and every one was better than the “good” hospital I used to go to back home. The waits were shorter, the facilities more comfortable, and the doctors just as good.

This is ironic, because you need a good health system more than anyone else in the world. Why? Because your lifestyle is almost designed to make you sick.

Let’s start with your diet: Much of the beef you eat has been exposed to fecal matter in processing. Your chicken is contaminated with salmonella. Your stock animals and poultry are pumped full of growth hormones and antibiotics. In most other countries, the government would act to protect consumers from this sort of thing; in the United States, the government is bought off by industry to prevent any effective regulations or inspections. In a few years, the majority of all the produce for sale in the United States will be from genetically modified crops, thanks to the cozy relationship between Monsanto Corporation and the United States government. Worse still, due to the vast quantities of high-fructose corn syrup Americans consume, fully one-third of children born in the United States today will be diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes at some point in their lives.

Of course, it’s not just the food that’s killing you, it’s the drugs. If you show any sign of life when you’re young, they’ll put you on Ritalin. Then, when you get old enough to take a good look around, you’ll get depressed, so they’ll give you Prozac. If you’re a man, this will render you chemically impotent, so you’ll need Viagra to get it up. Meanwhile, your steady diet of trans-fat-laden food is guaranteed to give you high cholesterol, so you’ll get a prescription for Lipitor. Finally, at the end of the day, you’ll lay awake at night worrying about losing your health plan, so you’ll need Lunesta to go to sleep.

With a diet guaranteed to make you sick and a health system designed to make sure you stay that way, what you really need is a long vacation somewhere. Unfortunately, you probably can’t take one. I’ll let you in on little secret: if you go to the beaches of Thailand, the mountains of Nepal, or the coral reefs of Australia, you’ll probably be the only American in sight. And you’ll be surrounded crowds of happy Germans, French, Italians, Israelis, Scandinavians and wealthy Asians. Why? Because they’re paid well enough to afford to visit these places AND they can take vacations long enough to do so. Even if you could scrape together enough money to go to one of these incredible places, by the time you recovered from your jetlag, it would time to get on a plane and rush back to your job.

If you think I’m making this up, check the stats on average annual vacation days by country:

Finland: 44
Italy: 42
France: 39
Germany: 35
UK: 25
Japan: 18
USA: 12

The fact is, they work you like dogs in the United States. This should come as no surprise: the United States never got away from the plantation/sweat shop labor model and any real labor movement was brutally suppressed. Unless you happen to be a member of the ownership class, your options are pretty much limited to barely surviving on service-sector wages or playing musical chairs for a spot in a cubicle (a spot that will be outsourced to India next week anyway). The very best you can hope for is to get a professional degree and then milk the system for a slice of the middle-class pie. And even those who claw their way into the middle class are but one illness or job loss away from poverty. Your jobs aren’t secure. Your company has no loyalty to you. They’ll play you off against your coworkers for as long as it suits them, then they’ll get rid of you.

Of course, you don’t have any choice in the matter: the system is designed this way. In most countries in the developed world, higher education is either free or heavily subsidized; in the United States, a university degree can set you back over US$100,000. Thus, you enter the working world with a crushing debt. Forget about taking a year off to travel the world and find yourself – you’ve got to start working or watch your credit rating plummet.

If you’re “lucky,” you might even land a job good enough to qualify you for a home loan. And then you’ll spend half your working life just paying the interest on the loan – welcome to the world of American debt slavery. America has the illusion of great wealth because there’s a lot of “stuff” around, but who really owns it? In real terms, the average American is poorer than the poorest ghetto dweller in Manila, because at least they have no debts. If they want to pack up and leave, they can; if you want to leave, you can’t, because you’ve got debts to pay.

All this begs the question: Why would anyone put up with this? Ask any American and you’ll get the same answer: because America is the freest country on earth. If you believe this, I’ve got some more bad news for you: America is actually among the least free countries on earth. Your piss is tested, your emails and phone calls are monitored, your medical records are gathered, and you are never more than one stray comment away from writhing on the ground with two Taser prongs in your ***.

And that’s just physical freedom. Mentally, you are truly imprisoned. You don’t even know the degree to which you are tormented by fears of medical bankruptcy, job loss, homelessness and violent crime because you’ve never lived in a country where there is no need to worry about such things.

But it goes much deeper than mere surveillance and anxiety. The fact is, you are not free because your country has been taken over and occupied by another government. Fully 70% of your tax dollars go to the Pentagon, and the Pentagon is the real government of the United States. You are required under pain of death to pay taxes to this occupying government. If you’re from the less fortunate classes, you are also required to serve and die in their endless wars, or send your sons and daughters to do so. You have no choice in the matter: there is a socio-economic draft system in the United States that provides a steady stream of cannon fodder for the military.

If you call a life of surveillance, anxiety and ceaseless toil in the service of a government you didn’t elect “freedom,” then you and I have a very different idea of what that word means.

If there was some chance that the country could be changed, there might be reason for hope. But can you honestly look around and conclude that anything is going to change? Where would the change come from? The people? Take a good look at your compatriots: the working class in the United States has been brutally propagandized by jackals like Rush Limbaugh, Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity. Members of the working class have been taught to lick the boots of their masters and then bend over for another kick in the ***. They’ve got these people so well trained that they’ll take up arms against the other half of the working class as soon as their masters give the word.

If the people cannot make a change, how about the media? Not a chance. From Fox News to the New York Times, the mass media in the United States is nothing but the public relations wing of the corporatocracy, primarily the military industrial complex. At least the citizens of the former Soviet Union knew that their news was ********. In America, you grow up thinking you’ve got a free media, which makes the propaganda doubly effective. If you don’t think American media is mere corporate propaganda, ask yourself the following question: have you ever heard a major American news outlet suggest that the country could fund a single-payer health system by cutting military spending?

If change can’t come from the people or the media, the only other potential source of change would be the politicians. Unfortunately, the American political process is among the most corrupt in the world. In every country on earth, one expects politicians to take bribes from the rich. But this generally happens in secret, behind the closed doors of their elite clubs. In the United States, this sort of political corruption is done in broad daylight, as part of legal, accepted, standard operating procedure. In the United States, they merely call these bribes campaign donations, political action committees and lobbyists. One can no more expect the politicians to change this system than one can expect a man to take an axe and chop his own legs out from underneath him.

No, the United States of America is not going to change for the better. The only change will be for the worse. And when I say worse, I mean much worse. As we speak, the economic system that sustained the country during the post-war years is collapsing. The United States maxed out its “credit card” sometime in 2008 and now its lenders, starting with China, are in the process of laying the foundations for a new monetary system to replace the Anglo-American “petro-dollar” system. As soon as there is a viable alternative to the US dollar, the greenback will sink like a stone.

While the United States was running up crushing levels of debt, it was also busy shipping its manufacturing jobs and white-collar jobs overseas, and letting its infrastructure fall to pieces. Meanwhile, Asian and European countries were investing in education, infrastructure and raw materials. Even if the United States tried to rebuild a real economy (as opposed to a service/financial economy) do think American workers would ever be able to compete with the workers of China or Europe? Have you ever seen a Japanese or German factory? Have you ever met a Singaporean or Chinese worker?

There are only two possible futures facing the United States, and neither one is pretty. The best case is a slow but orderly decline – essentially a continuation of what’s been happening for the last two decades. Wages will drop, unemployment will rise, Medicare and Social Security benefits will be slashed, the currency will decline in value, and the disparity of wealth will spiral out of control until the United States starts to resemble Mexico or the Philippines – tiny islands of wealth surrounded by great poverty (the country is already halfway there).

Equally likely is a sudden collapse, perhaps brought about by a rapid flight from the US dollar by creditor nations like China, Japan, Korea and the OPEC nations. A related possibility would be a default by the United States government on its vast debt. One look at the financial balance sheet of the US government should convince you how likely this is: governmental spending is skyrocketing and tax receipts are plummeting – something has to give. If either of these scenarios plays out, the resulting depression will make the present recession look like a walk in the park.

Whether the collapse is gradual or gut-wrenchingly sudden, the results will be chaos, civil strife and fascism. Let’s face it: the United States is like the former Yugoslavia – a collection of mutually antagonistic cultures united in name only. You’ve got your own version of the Taliban: right-wing Christian fundamentalists who actively loathe the idea of secular Constitutional government. You’ve got a vast intellectual underclass that has spent the last few decades soaking up Fox News and talk radio propaganda, eager to blame the collapse on Democrats, gays and immigrants. You’ve got a ruthless ownership class that will use all the means at its disposal to protect its wealth from the starving masses.

On top of all that you’ve got vast factory farms, sprawling suburbs and a truck-based shipping system, all of it entirely dependent on oil that is about to become completely unaffordable. And you’ve got guns. Lots of guns. In short: the United States is about to become a very unwholesome place to be.

Right now, the government is building fences and walls along its northern and southern borders. Right now, the government is working on a national ID system (soon to be fitted with biometric features). Right now, the government is building a surveillance state so extensive that they will be able to follow your every move, online, in the street and across borders. If you think this is just to protect you from “terrorists,” then you’re sadly mistaken. Once the **** really hits the fan, do you really think you’ll just be able to jump into the old station wagon, drive across the Canadian border and spend the rest of your days fishing and drinking Molson? No, the government is going to lock the place down. They don’t want their tax base escaping. They don’t want their “recruits” escaping. They don’t want YOU escaping.

I am not writing this to scare you. I write this to you as a friend. If you are able to read and understand what I’ve written here, then you are a member of a small minority in the United States. You are a minority in a country that has no place for you.

So what should you do?

You should leave the United States of America.

If you’re young, you’ve got plenty of choices: you can teach English in the Middle East, Asia or Europe. Or you can go to university or graduate school abroad and start building skills that will qualify you for a work visa. If you’ve already got some real work skills, you can apply to emigrate to any number of countries as a skilled immigrant. If you are older and you’ve got some savings, you can retire to a place like Costa Rica or the Philippines. If you can’t qualify for a work, student or retirement visa, don’t let that stop you – travel on a tourist visa to a country that appeals to you and talk to the expats you meet there. Whatever you do, go speak to an immigration lawyer as soon as you can. Find out exactly how to get on a path that will lead to permanent residence and eventually citizenship in the country of your choice.

You will not be alone. There are millions of Americans just like me living outside the United States. Living lives much more fulfilling, peaceful, free and abundant than we ever could have attained back home. Some of us happened upon these lives by accident – we tried a year abroad and found that we liked it – others made a conscious decision to pack up and leave for good. You’ll find us in Canada, all over Europe, in many parts of Asia, in Australia and New Zealand, and in most other countries of the globe. Do we miss our friends and family? Yes. Do we occasionally miss aspects of our former country? Yes. Do we plan on ever living again in the United States? Never. And those of us with permanent residence or citizenship can sponsor family members from back home for long-term visas in our adopted countries.

In closing, I want to remind you of something: unless you are an American Indian or a descendant of slaves, at some point your ancestors chose to leave their homeland in search of a better life. They weren’t traitors and they weren’t bad people, they just wanted a better life for themselves and their families. Isn’t it time that you continue their journey?

http://americathegrimtruth.wordpress.com/2010/04/05/america-the-grim-truth/

Was was the last time you heard of people risking their lives from countries all over the world to get into places like China,Australia, and Canada???

You don't because risking their life is not worth the reward of living there.Only the United states has a country so great you will hear of people risking their life to get into this country.People would sell their souls, their children, and give all their money to live here.Once they get here they never move back to the country they came from.

You think the European system is so great? You can work a federal job in the United states and spend 20 years working that job and get a full retirement after that time.Full retirement is only a 10% pay reduction.Your average federal worker is probably making around $85,000 after 20 years and will receive nearly a full paycheck until he or she dies.Get a federal job at 18(like the military)and retire at 38.Your set up for life.Compare that to your European system!

Not much for Politics forum..however, someone please tell me this is not happening. This cannot be allowed to occur! Let your senators know we won't stand for this!! Can't own a garden? Can't own seed? Can buy, sell, or trade your own produce, nor be in possession of same?mad mad

I did a topic on this same discussion about a year ago when I explained Obama would ban fishing, selling produce on the side of the roads, raising your own vegetable garden and many more. Most of this was due to that E-coli lettuce outbreak last year and the Government asking people who sell their won fruits and vegetables how to they know it can be safe?

Rest assured our Government will get their way and they will ban any fruits or vegetables that do not go through some process where they are inspected, tested, labeled, and of course charging the seller huge fees for these stupid laws.Apple and orange stands on the side of the roads will be a thing of the past.Having a garden in your own back yard will require permits, inspections, testing, and other BS making your life as complicated as possible.

I expect fishing to go the same route with any fish you caught going to some permanent or temporary location to be tested, inspected, and of course huge fees for paying some lazy Government worker to inspect your fish.

Two years before Obama was in office there was people like myself and others telling people what would happen if he was President.Unfortunately people thought skin color was more important than policy and this is what you get.Don't believe a thing Obama tells you.He is a compulsive liar and that is putting it mildly.

I found the following URL to be very interesting, makes you wonder how much choice most people in the world actually have regarding their religious beliefs.

http://www.mapsofwar.com/ind/history-of-religion.html

History - of – Religion
How has the geography of religion evolved over the centuries, and where has it sparked wars? Our map gives us a brief history of the world's most well-known religions: Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Judaism. Selected periods of inter-religious bloodshed are also highlighted. Want to see 5,000 years of religion in 90 seconds? Ready, Set, Go!

If you ask most people, anywhere in the world, if they would ‘choose’ their own religious beliefs above any other, would you really expect anyone to say no? Yet the truth is that most people in the world actually have very little or no choice in the matter of religious belief.

The five major world religions did not pass from state to state, country to country or continent to continent by consensus. One of the spoils of conquest, war, and colonization is the victor’s choice of beliefs.

When conquest, war, and colonization are not brutal enough to force compliance to the victors’ beliefs, further human atrocities are the traditional answer to the problem and there has been no lack of religious involvement in these atrocities.

While no religion can claim innocence, one religion is unsurpassed in brutality and atrocity and it began with the Roman Catholic Church.

There are many Christians, even some in these threads, who defend the deeds of Christians, by disowning those deeds in the following manner – Those people where not Christians because that is not the way Jesus behaved – or – those were power struggles, often including ‘evil’ individuals who do not represent Christianity.

Well amazingly those evil individuals found a lot of willing enforcers within the ranks of believers, and very often those ‘evil’ individuals claimed victory in the name of God.

When newcomers to distant shores spread disease killing half of the indigenous populations, the victors (and followers) had no problem slaughtering and making slaves of the remainder because they believed it was the will of God who had helped them destroy the evil pagan and heathen element from their midst. (you can find sources to these claims in the history of the Americas, Australia and New Zealand.)

Is it any wonder that so many Christians seek to disengage themselves from their heritage – Roman Catholicism? How many times have we seen a phrase similar to – ‘Christians and Catholics’ as if all other dogma between Christians and Christians is any different than the dogma between Christians and Catholics.

It was not Catholics in particular who came to the America’s, but those seeking freedom from religious oppression. But it didn’t take them long (with God’s helpful epidemics) to nearly wipe the landscape free of the indigenous ‘heathens’, who couldn’t understand the language, much less comply with demands to foreign religious conversion.

All Christian faiths have commonalities and they all stem from the same foundation, and changing a doctrine does not change the major tenants of the belief which unites them under the term Christian.

Religious atrocities (not just Christian) continued throughout the 20th century and into the 21st. The Catholics seem to have changed little over the centuries, Islam is competing with them, and the Angelican and other Christian denominations have greatly influenced the continuance of force through oppression and violence.

There is no need to list the places, names, events – those reading this post have internet access, the only other necessity is a desire to find the truth.

I suggest that the very religious are either easily led by those they consider (evil individual leaders), or they are as power hungry as the leaders they follow. This is what makes organized religion such a dangerous thing.

It’s also a good reason why individuals should consider their religious convictions, and practice of beliefs, a matter of personal growth and development, while taking extreme care to keep their beliefs as far away from political matters as possible.

One ‘evil’ leader and a lot of religious followers, is all it takes to change a free country into a landscape of human atrocity. Freedom of religious expression is a personal freedom, not to be confused with a social majority political structure.

If this nonsense is the best you can come up I feel sorry for you because it is poorly written and is full of lies from start to finish. As usual 99% of what we get in here is nothing but commentary with no facts to back up what they are talking about unless it comes from ihateChristians .com,no religon. com,or some other Atheist site with no credibility.

Where you are getting the idea that Christians and Catholics are in some way completely opposites and want to distance themselves away from each other is baffling.Catholics are Christians! The only difference between Catholics and some other denomination is the way we worship. We all believe the same thing and Catholics have over 1 billion members and is hardly dying.

Do you not realize that people join Christianity by their own free will and can leave at any time for what ever reason they want and will suffer no punishment at all from anyone?Who is forcing people to join Christianity?Christianity was offered to the people of this world as a invitation.People liked what they were offered and they took it.

This is a far cry from Islam where you do not have the choice in choosing your religion. You will be born a Muslim and you will die a Muslim.Leaving Islam for some other form of religion will get you killed. It is there law.

You can keep posting these already debated topics over and over and over again. That still doesn't change the facts.

Since you have a hard time figuring out what you are looking for I decided to do it for you....List of Wars fought because of religion.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religious_war

In the comprehensive list of the history of human warfare, in the Encyclopedia of Wars by Charles Phillips and Alan Axelrod documents 1763 wars, of which 123 (7%) have been classified to involve a religious conflict. Of these 123, 66 wars involved Islam.

Below is a chart of Wars fought in just the 21st century and total dead because of them.None of these Wars were fought in the name of Christianity, were bible related, had anything to do with Jesus Christ,or were caused because of the church or Christianity. Many of these countries were either Islamic ruled or Atheist ruled.

http://www.godandscience.org/apologetics/atrocities.htm

What percentage of these killings were due to religious democide? It is less than 3% of the totals. The surprising thing is that these killings occurred during a period of time when virtually all the peoples of the world were involved in some sort of religion. Here is the data for the 20th century:

IMF/EU are demanding the budget and austerity from Ireland
as a condition on the bailout

When is our austerity program coming and what will it entail?

One good thing about about Europe's financial troubles is it weakens their dollar which in turn makes it cheaper for Americans to buy and travel over there.I recently read the Euro was trading at around 133 to our dollar! That is pretty amazing considering the American dollar was usually worth half of what the Euro was.If we could strengthen our dollar we could probably make a even trade to the Euro which would bring our economy back to life. Not only could we import fine items such as chocolate, coffee, clothes, and other items. We would be buying them for basically half off the price they were just a year or two ago and still charging a normal or discounted price here.

did you know that in europe over half the people are agnostic or atheist, just do time for here in this country

I have no idea where you got that information. The highest percent of Atheism was for France at 33% and every country under that was lower. So there is no country even close to being over half.

Here is Canada

In the 2001 Canadian national census,[1] 72 percent of the Canadian population list Roman Catholicism or Protestantism as their religion. The Roman Catholic Church in Canada is by far the country's largest single denomination. Those who listed no religion account for 16 percent of total respondents. In the province of British Columbia, however, 35 percent of respondents reported no religion—more than any single denomination and more than all Protestants combined.

you should read the potential risks for breast implants, a rather popular CULTURAL procedure of the west,,,,

it all comes down to procedure being done correctly or carelessly, and it can happen with ANY medical procedure,,,

slaphead Thanks for that pathetic cop out response.Lets just dodge the subject at hand and focus on something totally unrelated in every way possible.

A hundred million women get their gentiles mutilated against their will and your response is....breast implants. noway

Thanks.I'm sure all those millions of women who went through the worst pain in their lives and will continue to suffer and even die from complications will know there is women in America who are having painless surgery,on their own free will,to make their breasts look more attractive.

Wow I bet they are glad they are not living in America!

circumcision is practiced in the west on MILLIONS of baby boys without their consent and against their WILL,, it is due to western CULTURE

circumcision of girls in the EAST is also cultural and no better or worse than our cultural custom with the boys

it is also no less or more risky than any other medical procedure we do in the west DAILY for purposes of vanity so I fail to see where we can take a higher ground on the issue of the necessity or safety of medical procedures

they are either done professionally or carelessly,, whatever the procedure

condoning circumcision (careful medical procedure)does not equate to condoning mutilation (careless medical procedure)

Male circumcision is done for health reasons and any doctor will recommend it.Female circumcision serves no purpose and Female mutilation is nothing less than barbaric torture. Both are exclusive to Islam.

No worse than our culture huh?I guess if that is the case we should introduce Female Genital Mutilation here?No big deal.I'm sure there would be a long line of Muslim women up to age 15 just waiting to get their most prizes parts cut, slashed and removed for no benefit to them what so ever.Maybe you should get it done if you support it?

No wonder this country is going straight down the tubes. With thinking like that I can see now why some people elected Obama.

And with thinking like this there is no wonder why we haven't made **** worth of progress in the last 20 years.

You know...if the United States didn't try to spread its f***-awful idea of a democracy through most of the world I bet most countries could give two f**** about us however, we did try to spread this f***-awful democracy through the world and now everyone else hates us.

Congratulations, you made the bed...now ****ing sleep in it.

Thank you for your Congratulations.I will gladly take credit for standing on the side of human decency, ending barbaric torture to women, giving women voting rights for the first time, spreading justice to men who abuse and murder women, the end to honor killings, stopping under age marriages, and many, many other issues both women and this world would love to see gone forever.

7 Brutal Truths About Atheism

http://jackhudson.wordpress.com/2010/08/20/7-brutal-truths-about-atheism/

I have covered a few of these points in my Atheist Contradictions posts, but I wanted to create a comprehensive list of what I considered to be a number of realities that emanate from atheistic belief – brutal realities that are certainly true if atheism is true. In and of themselves these do not disprove atheism, but they do detail the cost of atheist’s beliefs. Most of these truths are acknowledged by various atheists.

1.Your life has no meaning or purpose

One obvious conclusion of believing that life and the universe are the result of wholly incidental material interactions is that one’s life has no inherent meaning. There is no reason why an atheist is here – and the atheist’s existence will serve no ultimate purpose. The typical rejoinder amongst atheists is that they can make or find their own meaning, which apparently means they can pretend there is meaning to their lives – but they seem to miss the fact that this is exactly what they criticize the religious of doing. In the final analysis to be an atheist is to either acknowledge that one’s existence does not ultimately matter or to live a life of pretense.

2.You are an atheist by virtue of when and where you were born

Atheists like to say this about the religious (in an attempt to reduce religious belief down something we unthinkingly inherit from our parents) but the reality is while people convert to and from various religions all around the world, atheists are by in large concentrated in the more advanced industrial nations. The reason for that is simple – being an atheist really only works for the relatively wealthy and comfortable. Most of the world outside of industrialized countries must endure the harsh realities of life – hunger, disease, violence, shorter lives. This flippant atheist tagline, “There’s probably no God… now stop worrying and enjoy your life” makes absolutely no sense if one lives in a slum in Africa or India, or under one deals daily with the ravages of drug cartels in some central American city. Atheists are atheists because they have the luxury of denying the reality of that which gives human lives essential dignity, and still living comfortable lives themselves.

3.You can never be certain that what you believe to be true is true

There is no basis in atheism for any confidence in one’s ability to discern what is and isn’t true about reality. The reason for this is because if one’s main instrument for deriving beliefs about reality (one’s physical brain) is the product of undirected incidental forces then there is no guarantee that this instrument is accurate in that respect. In fact, there is much reason to believe our cognitive equipment is faulty. So atheism contains its own internal defeater; if atheism is true, there is no reason for an atheist to be confident that atheism is true.

4.There is no objective way to evaluate moral choices

This is another truth that invites atheists to imagine something that can’t actually exist. In a purposeless universe, there is no basis for contending that creatures who incidentally evolved there should behave in a particular manner; there is no anchor to which we can tether an idea of right or wrong moral choices. From an atheist perspective moral claims are wholly derived from our own mental faculties – and as we saw in the previous point that would make them fairly arbitrary. This is especially true considering there are competing claims about right and wrong behavior. So then while an atheist might desire to act a certain way or desire that others acted in a certain way, he or she can never say others should act in a certain way as no human behavior is actually ever ‘wrong’ in any objective sense. Atheists often argue that they are as moral as any religious believer – but such a claim requires morals to exist in the first place.

5.The most brutal regimes have been atheistic

In their opposition to religion, atheists often like to point out that religious belief has historically often been a source of violence and persecution. While this neither proves nor disproves the existence of God; it certainly seems to make a belief in God undesirable. Unfortunately for atheists, they have some of their own history to deal with. In the early and mid 20th century, atheism, thanks to communism, was at its zenith historically. More than any time in history, a number of governments were overtly atheistic – there was no religious belief to motivate their leaders and armies. And it was during that time and in those places that the most horrible actions were taken – perhaps the worst in the history of man. The governments of Stalin, Mao, the various leaders of North Korea and Vietnam, as well as various regimes in Eastern Europe, Africa and South America killed tens, perhaps hundreds of millions of people all told. They imprisoned millions more merely for their religious or political beliefs. The worst forms of torture and forced labor occurred under these systems, and many places have never fully recovered from the ravages of those times. If one were to evaluate beliefs based on the degree of pain and violence those beliefs provoked, then atheism would certainly be the standard for motivating horrible behavior.

6.Human rights and equality don’t exist

In the atheist scheme of reality, only that which has a physical component can exist, so claims of inherent rights or human equality are necessarily understood to be, like morals, wholly illusory. Take for example the concept of human equality. In American political philosophy our equality derives from the notion that we were created by God as equal persons of equal worth. What is equal about two humans in this view isn’t their physical qualities but intrinsic ones, a worth that can’t be diminished. On the other hand, people are inherently unequal according to any physical or biological measure. A person with substantive intelligence would certainly be more valuable than someone with a mental defect. A healthy person who can contribute to society would have more much worth than an ill or handicapped person –and so in a world where only that which was physical is real, ‘equality’ could not exist. Much the same could be said of the notions of rights or liberties – these entities can’t be found in a materialistic universe. This would explain in part why wholly atheistic regimes have such atrocious human rights records – they are under no obligation to recognize intrinsic human worth.

7.You will always be a small minority

The reality is as long as there have been recognizable human communities, there have been religious beliefs. Ideas about God or gods were the foundation of musicality, art, literature, even civilization itself. Our capacity for spiritual comprehension is our most distinguishing factor – perhaps more than any other thing that is what it means to be human. Even today, religious belief persists and is growing in the world – and this is made even more the case as primarily secular societies fade due to lack of procreation. If several thousand years of human history and all current trends are any indication, atheism is in its twilight years not its infancy.

Atheists will no doubt contest one or more of these claims, or find ways to wish away or excuse the reality of these claims. All of these claims has either been demonstrated by history or certain facts, and are completely consistent with atheistic beliefs and thus easy enough to defend. One could argue whether atheism is true; one can never say that it is a idea that is inconsequential.

As usual we get those who defend Sharia law, terrorist, wife beating, underage marriage and now of course genital mutilation. slaphead

Of course our usual people in here who scream how bad those tea party people are won't miss a second to defend anything that reduces women to nothing but a battered, bloody, piece of dog meat for the men to have their way with.

This is just another tradition from your usual peace loving Muslims.Female genital mutilation is brought to you by Islam and is practiced every day with millions of victims.

http://www.examiner.com/statehouse-in-santa-ana/islam-the-degradation-of-women-through-female-genital-mutilation

Female genital mutilation is an ancient practice done mainly in African Muslim nations to females aging from babies to 15. It is a procedure that intentionally alters or injures female genital organs for unnecessary and non-medical reasons. It has no health benefits; it can cause severe bleeding, problems urinating, causing bladder infections, childbirth complications and newborn deaths. In Africa an estimated 92 million girls from 10 years of age and above have undergone FGM.

http://www.who.int/mediacentre/factsheets/fs241/en/

Female genital mutilation (FGM) includes procedures that intentionally alter or injure female genital organs for non-medical reasons.
The procedure has no health benefits for girls and women.
Procedures can cause severe bleeding and problems urinating, and later, potential childbirth complications and newborn deaths.
An estimated 100 to 140 million girls and women worldwide are currently living with the consequences of FGM.
It is mostly carried out on young girls sometime between infancy and age 15 years.
In Africa an estimated 92 million girls from 10 years of age and above have undergone FGM.
FGM is internationally recognized as a violation of the human rights of girls and women.

Female genital mutilation (FGM) comprises all procedures that involve partial or total removal of the external female genitalia, or other injury to the female genital organs for non-medical reasons.

The practice is mostly carried out by traditional circumcisers, who often play other central roles in communities, such as attending childbirths. Increasingly, however, FGM is being performed by health care providers.

FGM is recognized internationally as a violation of the human rights of girls and women. It reflects deep-rooted inequality between the sexes, and constitutes an extreme form of discrimination against women. It is nearly always carried out on minors and is a violation of the rights of children. The practice also violates a person's rights to health, security and physical integrity, the right to be free from torture and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, and the right to life when the procedure results in death.

Procedures

Female genital mutilation is classified into four major types.

Clitoridectomy: partial or total removal of the clitoris (a small, sensitive and erectile part of the female genitals) and, in very rare cases, only the prepuce (the fold of skin surrounding the clitoris).
Excision: partial or total removal of the clitoris and the labia minora, with or without excision of the labia majora (the labia are "the lips" that surround the vagina).
Infibulation: narrowing of the vaginal opening through the creation of a covering seal. The seal is formed by cutting and repositioning the inner, or outer, labia, with or without removal of the clitoris.
Other: all other harmful procedures to the female genitalia for non-medical purposes, e.g. pricking, piercing, incising, scraping and cauterizing the genital area.
No health benefits, only harm
FGM has no health benefits, and it harms girls and women in many ways. It involves removing and damaging healthy and normal female genital tissue, and interferes with the natural functions of girls' and women's bodies.

Immediate complications can include severe pain, shock, haemorrhage (bleeding), tetanus or sepsis (bacterial infection), urine retention, open sores in the genital region and injury to nearby genital tissue.

Long-term consequences can include:

recurrent bladder and urinary tract infections;
cysts;
infertility;
an increased risk of childbirth complications and newborn deaths;
the need for later surgeries. For example, the FGM procedure that seals or narrows a vaginal opening (type 3 above) needs to be cut open later to allow for sexual intercourse and childbirth. Sometimes it is stitched again several times, including after childbirth, hence the woman goes through repeated opening and closing
