I believe it can work if both parties are willing to see it through together and one doesn't pressure the other to have sex or resent the other for wanting to abstain.

Of course they won't realize how sexually compatible they are together if they wait, so they will have to be willing to compromise on sexual desires and needs in the marriage if that ends up being the case and they are committed to staying together despite any differences they may have in that area.

To me nice is caring, considerate, compassionate, treats people with respect...and not just the woman he's trying to impress, but everyone.

I would not date anyone less nice than that. You don't have to be a doormat to have those qualities. In my experience, most are not.

The wonderful moments should be looked at as "proof of life", because they are proof that there are people out there who can spark your interest. So this one didn't work out. Imagine how much better the one that does will be?

This I understand. I definitely agree with this! Most arguments are not worth fighting over. People tend to let their emotions carry them too far into an argument and making a practice of not doing so is most certainly a step toward growth.

Maybe they don't trust nice and cuddly because they're not used to it?

I'm the warm cuddly type myself and a man I dated a long time ago once told me it took him a while to relax with me because he was in suspense for a long time waiting for my time bomb to go off or something. He said he used to try to provoke me to make it happen...which explained a lot after the fact. It turned out I'm not easy to anger, choose my battles for their actual merit and fight them like a calm adult willing to compromise.
