I'm not sure what they mean. Gotta feeling it might not be exclusively a male thing, though...seems to me crap is one of those things that both men and women can pitch equally well. Maybe it is just that the women are more 'vocal' about the crap they get from men?
Here's hoping everyone one has a less crappy evening... |

A trip to the Gyne M.D. could be of more help than she realizes. If it is menopause, there are blood tests that will tell her if she is still capable of becoming pregnant. It may no longer be a concern for her. Gotta tell you, that was a 'freeing' moment for me. To no longer have to be concerned about an unplanned pregnancy was small relief for me as it came at the end of my marriage. In an exclusive, monogamous relationship, that relief would be a pleasure!

Just a thought. Document the hours as Shasta has suggested. Express your honest thoughts to your boss regarding all that you like about the position and the company. Explain how difficult it has been for you to get anything else done. I'm sure you have not been able to get routine things done...appointments, car and home maintenance, etc. Ask if it would be possible to have one 8-hour day a week or one a pay. Knowing you have some small amount of time to yourself each week might be enough to get you through until you find something more suitable. But go at him with the with positives first - that would be my suggestion.

the bill is lame. it does not go far enough. personally i think we need radical change and the sooner the better to make health care affordable and available to everyone regardless of their income level of if they have cancer, diabetes, a virus or broken leg. the whole system we have currently is bloated and extremely unfair. the politicians get excellent care while others get letters denying them coverage when they are ill and fighting with them and their doctors over care. it is egregious and this is why it is getting the ax. but they should go a step further and really SCRAP the whole system with the goal of making the end result the highest quality and most cost effective system in the world bar none. this means getting rid of the insurers all together because they add nothing of value and just inefficiently suck trillions out of our collective pockets. they are a useless middleman a tax on all of us and one which we cannot afford and the sooner we chuck them the faster we will save money...and tossing them out on their ears will not affect our medical care in the slightest so, once we slash the fat waste then we can improve our care and we will really be getting somewhere. but these half measures really only drag the pain out. in treating cancer it is best to operate quickly and remove the whole problem. eradicate it immediately and start the healing process. if you nibble cautiously around the edges then there will only be more surgery and pain down the line and the patient will remain at higher risk. and our health care system has cancer - let's bite the bullet and excise the nastiness and get a system which works for us once again. |

We Americans were willing to spend trillions of dollars to go to (illegal)war and kill millions of innocent people but we are unwilling to spend any money to save those of us who have no healthcare. How can that be? What does that say about us? What is also sad, is that people don't see we are already paying an outrageous amount for the uninsured. We could actually save a great deal of money if everyone were insured, even if only for the most basic level of care. We wouldn't be taking care of so many in catastrophic situations. We could be treating hypertension before it was a disabling stroke...or diabetes before it required amputation or kidney dialysis...cancer while a successful full recovery was still possible. People don't seem to realize that uninsured people do get treatment (and we, the people, pay for most of it), but usually only when their illness has progressed and requires the most expensive treatment, support and care. It happens everyday, and we pay for it. It would be much cheaper to pay for the treatment of chronic illnesses. Much less expensive in terms of money, but also in resources and human suffering. Until the people are willing to step over the uninsured stricken by illness or injury, we will continue to pay for their care. It is part of what living in a community involves...it is part of being human. Until we provide health care for everyone in a more economical fashion, we will continue to pay top dollar for the care of the uninsured. It's not rocket science. |

Was stunned by this, too, but I doubt 'Teabaggers' corner the market on behavior like this. I'm not sure when we went from 'peace and love' to dehumanizing each other, but it is sad. I'm glad I missed that memo...

Well, Sir, I took the liberty of reading much of your profile...also sent an e-mail, hope you don't mind. I'm starting a list of qualities that are important to you. It may take a bit of time, but I think we should do this! I think so, too. There may be an Unknown Lurker here who just needs some cajoling. I hope that means what I think it means. Ah, what the he!!, if it means something else, it might be fun... |

I'd take my friends, who are now very nearly the only family I have, and go to either Ocracoke, NC (the most beautiful place I've ever been) or Sanibel Island, FL (a place I've always wanted to see). If I die at the beach with those I love near me, I will die a happy woman.

With your permission then, I will try to compile the list of qualifications for your approval? Sans monkeys, of course. I assume your profile will be of help with that.
*Note to self: Add 'No monkeys' to list* Now, since you've been here since what? Forever? What do you think is the best time of day (and day of the week) to post a thread calling for volunteers for this posse? Gotta get the biggest bang for the buck, you know? I say we do it...and we'll see about the chances of you being hit by a damn llama... |

Perhaps this situation calls for a posse? A 'woman-hunt', so to speak? While I personally think this is a brilliant idea -- because, let's face it, I'm never going to meet anybody any other way! -- I don't think anyone here has the "right" "connections," so to "speak." If it is a brilliant idea...then let's do it. If this is all about numbers, then a posse of folks looking for a needle in this mangled haystack are going to be more successful than you alone. So, we're looking for a woman who is and wishes to remain childless. She must find the conventional, married life unappealing. She must be near you or willing to relocate. Creative. Independent. What else? Our connections, or lack of them, shouldn't be an issue. Mingle has a search application. Surely it can be configured by each volunteer to search for someone with the qualities you find important? So, we need volunteers. With luck and the infinite monkey theorem on our side, we will find someone, so how would you want folks to forward suggestions to you? If you are up for it, I'll ask for volunteers. What do you say? |

Not sure about a 'cut off age', but I never had kids. Never felt raising a child was something I would do well...always thought of parenting as too important to do half-a$$ed.
Surely, there are women around here who can't or don't choose to have children...at least a few? Perhaps this situation calls for a posse? A 'woman-hunt', so to speak? Have those who know you here or elsewhere ever tried to hook you up sith someone. (Oh...I am so fearing the answer to this...with any luck, I've just killed another thread... ) |

To be honest, it's all about MONEY MONEY MONEY!!!!!! Period. Hummmmm and this is coming from a man at that (((Kristi))) I think he's saying that's what women think... Yeah I thought the same thing.... I was being a bit sarcastic loving the way men always want to speak for the women and what they want. When they actually have no clue what we think they might as well give up and realize they never will.......... How do you suppose that is??? Men, after all these many years, still can't understand what women really think and want. Well, most of what women want, anyway... |
