Would you still marry them?

Thanks, Mirror, for the thought provoking post. Some young people breezed through with glasses half full= optimistically. Some thought about it. Of course I am 55 now and I just gave my own experience as a reference. It is an important question for a young couple starting a life as one. Catholic couples getting married "in the church" have to go through 8 weeks of group "therapy". We did that. This question never came up. I think it should. You know, the thing is, I know that I was fertile when we got married. He had LTR in college and never got a girl pregnant. We don't know if he was able to have children, do we. Like Henry VIII, ignorance is no excuse. How many women lost their heads because they did not provide a male heir? Little did he know that the male determines the sex of a child. good thank I find it interesting that Dr went silent. I hope that means he is seriously thinking about this. I know lots of people who
don't want kids at all. Not a problem. I wanted a dozen. Yes, I did. A cold husband kept us from adopting more. |

yes, love is love. Some feel that the greatest way to show that love is to make a child from the two of you and help create another human being that is a part of you both. Love's fire may go out, but, you will always be connected with each other by the new life you created.
Some don't feel that way. You should really think about this because it is a serious connection. My daughter does not see her adoptive father. He feels nothing for her and she feels nothing for him. She and I "bonded" when she was just days old. She's mine, whether there is blood there or not. Some men never feel that way about someone else's child. |

Dr X. Please don't marry her. You already said you want "flesh of your flesh". You will cheat on her and have a child and that will hurt her terribly. Let her find a man that really doesn't want children.
Please break off the engagement now. Better now than 15 yrs from now. imho |

I hope you men will really think about this. I had 2 surgeries before I graduated from High school. I did have a lovely pregnancy and a son, who was still born. 8 months after I got married, I had to have a hysterectomy. After that I could not have children. I offered to let my husband out of the marriage. He insisted that he was fine. We did later adopt a baby girl. We divorced 10 yrs after we were married, due, mainly to his lack of interest in the marriage. We remarried 3 yrs later and got divorced again.
I found out from our daughter that he had asked the woman he was dating and planned to marry, if she would reverse the tubal ligation she had had because he wanted a child "of his own". That hurt me a lot and I say, that because I did not have a child with him, he never had a complete love for me. So before you say Yes so quickly, please think about this seriously. Every man I have ever known says he will always love the mother of his children, divorced or not, in some kind of way. |

I went on a cruise with my mom and my cousin on the TransAtlantic Ocean Liner-The Queen Mary II. It was awesome!! I am now addicted to cruises. Ready to go again. We went from Brooklyn, NY (so we drove up there from MD) to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, where we had a port call and back with a port call in Boston. I fell in love with Boston and will try to go for a week in the fall or at least a long weekend!

about Meg Ryan?? I have read about supposed reports of lip surgery or collagen injections, ect., as well as cheek implants and a nose job. I have just finished reviewing tons of pics of her and other than a few "bad" photo's, I just don't see any truth to any of that hype. The girl in the pic with "blow fish" lips, doesn't even look like Meg Ryan, and I'd wager that it isn't her at all.

no sea sickness at all. They say the Captain knows how to sail around the storms. We had 2 "formal" dinner nights. The first was Black and White and a ball in the Queens room. The 2nd was the Masquerade Ball, also in the Queens room. Everything was wonderful and we had a balcony and the waves rocked us to sleep at night. It was very soothing!!

Check it out!! Donnar

I had my vacation already. On May 22, I went with my cousin and my mother on a 5 day cruise on the Queen Mary II. From Brooklyn, NY (so we got to drive to the port) to Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and back with a stop in Boston, which I fell in love with. We docked in Brooklyn on May 27. I had never been on a cruise and it was awesome! We had a inside balcony. We could go and stand and look out at the ocean or just sit out there and watch the stars. The food was awesome. We had 2 formal nights with Balls in the Queens Room! They had dance hosts to dance with the passengers!! I want to cruise some more and I would like to find some time this summer or fall to spend a long weekend or maybe a week in Boston. We only had a day tour there. It was precious time spent with my 81 yrs young mother. She seems more like 60! Sigh! I wish she was 60.

I've been a fan since the early 70's when he did the "catholic" album! How funny was that?? The man was a genious in expressing his opinions and making us look at things in a different light. I enjoyed every thing I ever saw/heard him do, even if I disagreed with some of it. I cried hard when they announced his death on tv. It just really hit me hard. Feel like I grew up with George Carlin. "and tits doesn't even belong on the list! Sounds like a snack. New Nabisco tits. cheese tits and tater tits." too funny!!
RIP George! |

That's just wrong. Teacher or not, no adult woman should be teaching a 13 yr old boy how to kiss, let alone french kiss. It is child abuse and molestation. Doesn't matter whether we know them or not. It's wrong.

My best friend had a stroke. She's still living and mostly normal with some mental confusion at times. She was hit by a drunk driver and her injuries caused the strokes. She had to learn to think, talk, walk and many other activities of daily living all over again. We are 55. She'll live a long time, imho.
