You know, if someone isn't interested in you, there's really not much you can do about it.
I hardly see what she did wrong. |

Bradbury is not bad (i couldnt stand the martian chronicles though, loved farenheit 451)
What?! You, my dear, are gravely misguided. The Martian Chronicles is amazing, and Bradbury himself is the best living writer by a long shot. |

Candyland really is hard.
I mean, when it comes down to it, it's absolutely up to the luck of the draw, so to speak. If you don't pick the right colors when you draw your card, you can't win. So since there's so little room to gain a strategic advantage, cheating really is the only option. Then again, I could be wrong, since i haven't played CandyLand in a few days. |

I started going through the Kurt Vonnegut catalogue.
He is godlike. But Bradbury is my all time favorite because his short stories are mindblowing. |

You know, Uranus is experiencing the equinox right now. I wouldn't mind visiting and partying with the natives in the infamous 'Uranus Equinox Orgies'.
Or is it Neptune? I forget. I get my gaseous giants mixed up all the time. |

this thread reeks of originality
and you know, i'm not sure if I've ever used the concept of originality in so concrete manner, but I do know that I'm pretty damn proud of doing so just now. |

I always prefer talking to people through AIM or MSN or what have you.
I hate the email and IMing on here. :/ But I'm a Martian, so read into that what you will. |

Did anyone here know that the United States was the first civilized country to ban slavery in the entire world?
What in God's name are you talking about? I mean, first off, the distinction between civilized and uncivilized countries is a false one to begin with. And second, the United States was one of the last of the industrialized countries to end slavery, mostly due to the late proliferation of the cotton economy in the south (had it not been for the cotton gin, slavery probably would have ended in the South have a century sooner, and the Civil War would never have been fought). Hell, even Mexico had laws against slavery before the US banned it on a federal level, which was part of the whole thing with Texas. |
