Has anyone of you met someone famous in your normal day to day life and it hit you who it was after you spoke with them and went on your day?

I knew who it was when i met him, i met James Earl Jones a couple of years ago at DFW airport.

I myself met Whoopi Goldberg. She is very nice and down to earth. Yes she is funny in person too.

Yup.. As a teen, I worked as a chef assistant.
One day.. as I was in the middle of a really busy shift.. I saw a few people on the line who did not belong. I yelled at them to get out...
It was Ray Charles and his bodyguards.

He wanted to thank me for the meal I prepared for him, and invite me to a concert, handing me 6 passes.

I cooked for many familiar names in that job.

Long ago...my brothers used to pump gas and I would hang out with them until it was time for them to punch out. An old car pulls in and my brother tells me to go wash the windows (back when this was done at the gas stations!!).

I stood there, all of about 6 yr's old talking to the guy behind the wheel and telling him about school and stuff. He had such a cute smile and he gave me a dollar for washing his windows. After he drove away, my brother just looked at me laughing and said "You just washed Harry Chapin's windows and told him about school. Was that all you could say to him??? Nothing about loving his music??"

Met Grant Hill back when he played with the Orlando Magic. I was waiting for my friend to get off from work at Walgreens and I see this hooked up Benz pull up...and out comes Grant Hill limping a bit (he was injured for like 5 seasons with the Magic). I told him the store was closed...he thanked me and was driving off. I waved to him to stop to see if I could get his autograph...truly a genuine down to earth guy...I was some chump off the street and he still stopped to give me his autograph.

He plays for the Suns now...I'm glad to see him playing good even at this age!

SUPERMAN.the Original!! Got his Autograph in my 8th grade Autograph book!!! LOVE IT!!

i've met a lot of bands in the past, but the best of them all was with Anthrax at a Dennys in Maine. I had a great time talking with them and they put me on the guest list for their concert.. Such a great memory...

Lived in Jackson Wyoming...I know I was near them...and probably saw them...could have sworn a couple of times...but not officially

When I was in high school I had dinner with Pele (soccer) at a friend's house.

When I was younger, my family had dinner at a restaurant with the whole Cardinal baseball team. One of them was dating my Aunt.

I also went to a party at David Surkamp's house. He was the lead singer of Pavlov's Dogs in the 1970's. He shook my hand and introduced himself.

When I was waiting tables back in the day, I got to wait on The Iron Sheik. He had NOT aged well.

I met Tony Gwynn several times.
