1. I undertake the precept to refrain from destroying living creatures.
2. I undertake the precept to refrain from taking that which is not given. 3. I undertake the precept to refrain from sexual misconduct. 4. I undertake the precept to refrain from incorrect speech. 5. I undertake the precept to refrain from intoxicatants. 1) Nope - love those bacon sandwiches, hate those mosquitos 2) Can just about do this one - mostly - there are occasions when things present themselves and do beg to be taken 3) Cant do this one at all ... Im a ScubaGod fer cryin' out loud ... there has to be a little prayer at the altar of my lurrrve 4) Not a f'kn chance!! 5) I refer to point 3 - although the only intoxicant I partake in now is caffiene and the occassional crate of decent wine. So, Buddhism's not for me either. ![]() [crosses Buddhism off the list] |

So...point is...God will ALWAYS make Himself Known to man ...to give man a chance to accept Him, WILLINLY. What if he forgets someone? What if Jehovah or Allah get there first? |

So in other words, every other person on the face of the Earth who chooses not to embrace Christianity for whatever reason, is bound for hell? What if you have been a practicing Muslim your entire life and very happy and satisfied in your beliefs. You are asserting that if god asks you to join up at your death bed, and you refuse because you are Muslim, off to hell? This does not sound very merciful. Thats really not a selling point dear. ![]() Its ok ... God's little brother Allah will take him in. Although in 50 years time, Allah will have a bigger fan base that old JC. I bet Abraphart will be so pleased both his sons have done better than him |

Bible Question...
|

That's fair enough and I understand it would be open to interpretation; however, the concern can come into play when one individual takes it upon themselves to assume moral superiority in some respect. We have seen throughout history in fact when this has caused problems. I think we might also get that expression in the English language "People who live in glass houses should not throw rocks." or something along those lines from an understanding of scripture perhaps. I’m just guessing however. ![]() Yes well like I said... when it starts to get ugly it's time to bow out. It's not worth fighting over. It's about sharing faith & showing love which is not easy on a BBS. and it would be nice if it wasnt filled with hypocrites. |

Bible Question...
|
|
Ok so I know alot of people who don't like gay/les people because they think it's wrong because it say on the bible it's wrong. When I was in high school alot of kids would talk about having sex, over the weekend...or making plans of having parties with no parents around, ya'll know for what right... Then on other days they would bring up the "gay" word and start talkin' about gay people sayin, how they're gonna go to hell, how it's wrong, because it says on the bible,...etc.... But having sex before marriage is wrong to, right. Dosen't that say on the bible 2. I think Feral Cat posted something about sexual relations from the Bible. Sexual relations outside of marriage is a sin. Homosexuality just like incest are all sins according to God's word as outlined in the Bible. You are correct. Just because kids are doing all sorts of things (which BTW, includes drugs) it doesn't make it right & they are sins. The Bible says not to be drunk on wine or involved with all sorts of debauchery etc etc. Don't listen to some of the nonsense by those who don't believe in the Bible. Consider the source when reading your replies if you are looking for answers. BTW...I'm not here to judge but to answer your questions. ![]() God bless... ... and listening to hypocritical rubbish like this from someone who thinks its ok to steal will get you even more confused than you started with. As a guide, do not look in the bible, do what you feel is right. You are an individual with thought processes like the majority on here. What do you think right now on this subject? |

Truthly Tribo, the whole biblical myth is all two-faced. I'm not sure how they ended up with a 'trinity', but the whole idea is that they had no choice. They couldn't very well allow Jesus to truly be the 'son of God', because that would have just been Greek Mythology all over again. They had to somehow claim that Jesus isn't a separate God like Apollo was separate from Zeus. So they made up this whole trinity thing. But it doesn't work. You just can't have a God being it's own sacrifical lamb to appease itself because that just makes no sense at all. Christians are like that. In fact, the whole biblical myth is like that. People pray to God to give thanks for the food they eat. But they seem to totally forget that God created them with a need to eat. So what's up with that? Why should we have to thank a God for food when it was God who created us with a need to eat in the first place? If a God creates a creature that needs to eat to survive then it's entirely the responsibly of the God to see to it that the beasts it creates have something to eat. Otherwise it's just downright being a mean jerk. The whole idea of a zookeeping God who doesn't take care of his animals is just a sick idea in the first place. I don't care whether it's one enitry and a million entities. The God or Gods just aren't taking very good care of their creations. All you have to do is look around to see that. You don't need to ask people to explain it. The Bible doesn't even explain it. What makes you think anyone else should be able to? ![]() Oh, now!!! Come on!! You know you will never get anywhere with the Xtians with a logical attitude like that!! How dare you use logic? You have to use psychotropic, image-enhancing incense to get close to the god-head. Actually, when I was working on the ships, the god-head was reserved for the skipper to do his ablutions and then we could all get on the pot. So the god-head was actually a repository for fecal material! ... or it was full of ... Very much like Daddy, Junior, and Spook. |

yes i know you stated that in the wicca post that would have really been cool to do that - you have me wondering why one stone would stay warm - HMMM??? The Bluestones are a different stone to the Sarsen ones. Chemically they hold heat, as they are denser in composition. The Bluestones come from a place in Wales which is over 150 miles away. The Sarsen stones are from about 20 miles away. Considering each one of the 80 stones weighs around 5 tons, and it was 4000 years ago, its a pretty amazing feat of engineering They are as old as the oldest pyramids and are made from the same rock composition as the heads on Easter Island ... in the middle of the Pacific! An analysis of new census figures has shown that Australia is suffering from an unprecedented "man drought".
The statistics have revealed that there are almost 100,000 more females than males in Australia. The problem is worse in the coastal cities, where women have moved seeking better jobs and lifestyles, while many men have gone overseas. Thirty years ago Australia was with flush with men thanks to immigration policies that favoured males. That position has been reversed because thousands of Australian men in their 20s and early 30s have gone overseas either to travel or to work. It has caused a gender imbalance that is having far-reaching implications. Town and country Major cities in Australia now have concentrated groups of unattached women, along with dwindling numbers of the opposite sex. Demographer Bernard Salt says the exodus of young men to foreign countries is leaving its mark. "If you go into the United Arab Emirates census you'll find there is around 12,000 Australians living in Dubai, mostly male, mostly in the 25 to 34-year age group. |

Can diplomacy solve the crisis in the Caucasus?
Seven of the world's leading industrialised nations have jointly condemned Russia's decision to recognise Georgia's breakaway regions. Can tough-style diplomacy bring peace to the region? Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the US and UK said Moscow's recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia violated Georgia's integrity and sovereignty. Earlier, in a speech in Ukraine's capital, Kiev, The British Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, warned the Russian president not to start a new Cold War. Russia made a formal recognition of the of the breakaway provinces after fighting began between Russia and Georgia after Georgian military tried to retake the provinces by force. Can international bodies solve this crisis? What can Western-backed diplomacy achieve in the region? Is Russia heading for isolation? |

We are off-topic here, but I hope our Germanic host doesnt mind.
Its funny that when I used to drive past Stonehenge twice a week on my way to London, I used to feel a very strange pull to the place. As a kid I was a regular visitor to the place and there is one stone that is much warmer than the others, even when there is snow on the ground. 30 years ago, you could climb on the stones and feel them and when you stood in the middle of the circle, it made all the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Now you are not allowed within 30 metres of the stones ... A disaster! But the minority spoil it for the rest of us. Full-moon parties and Solstice parties left such devastation that they cordon it off every month/6 months. |

were just bigger mutts here than in england mr. B, my G father was french, my G mother full blooded cherokee, my grnadfather on mom's sie was irish and bride english so it had to be split into quarters. you must be half english and half? Actually, if we want to divide it up, I am half Scottish and half Cornish. There are 5 areas that are classed as Celtic Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Brittany (in N.W. France) and Cornwall. (The pointy bit down at the bottom, on the right-hand side of England) So although I am 100% Celtic by heritage, I like being English, although Im happy being British. |
