Spider, this is not a "Know your bible contest".
You are merely asked to talk about your religion in your own words. You can't do that? Makes me wonder about what you really know for yourself. |

Invisible,
I quoted ONE scripture in this thread. Couldn't you come up with a better attack than "You quote the bible"? The Bible is the source of everything Christian. If you are discussing Christianity without quoting any scripture, you probably don't know what you are talking about. What documentation, pretell, is your religion based upon? |

All things christian have but two real sources.
God and Christ. The bible is not either. It is the written words of men. Decided upon by a council of men. Translated by men. Read my mankind. but the rock of christianity is Christ. My faith is based upon the glory of god. I have no religion. |

I don't have a religion, Spider, don't need one.
All I have is my belief, that's all I need. If you would base your posts on your beliefs and not what the bible tells you to belief, I think you would have rather little to nothing to say. |

I believe spider would have much to say.
But his box is bound by the son. And the words of the father that are within him are contained within those bounds. |

I didn't realise you needed documentation to believe something. What
happened to faith? |
|
|
|
last time I shared my opinion I got pounced on...and all I stated was
what I believe not what they should believe, but I love to watch you all share your thoughts. |

that made me sound like a conversation voyuer

What happened to faith? =========================================================================================== SpiderCMB replied: Great question! Christianity teaches that faith is a gift of the Holy Spirit. Faith is granted to those who seek God. Your search for God should start in your heart, but it should eventually lead to the Bible. The Bible is the Word of God. That is why we are are taught in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 the following lesson: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Bible includes historical facts and prophecies so as to overcome any reasonable doubt. To those who read the Bible, they find wisdom and advice. The Bible offers good common sense advice. The Bible teaches the character of God. The reader finds how to live their life to please God. The reader learns what God has planned for them. The reader also finds the answers to the great questions: Why are we here? What is after this life? Why do bad things happen to good people? Why does evil exist? I don't believe that reading the Bible is required to be saved, but the Bible is the best way to get to know God and what he expects from you. |

I need not reproof or correction for the breath of god is within me.
I need not to be taught for I am no longer a child the spirit of god envelopes me with loving kindness and his lights my path with his boundless glory. I need not redemption for hope dwells within my heart. |

The reason for this is that you are not a Christian and therefore you have no place making those statements. I only make statements about my own religion, I don't try to make statements about others religions or lack thereof. Second, all things Christian have one source, Jesus Christ. All things were made by and for him, including the Bible. The Bible was written by men. Compiled by men. Translated by men. And read by mankind. At each step, the believer is guided by the Holy Spirit. Without the Holy spirit, the Bible is foolishness. Jesus is the rock on which our faith is based and he gave us a book so that we can know him and the Father. |

AdventureBegins,
"I need not reproof or correction for the breath of god is within me. I need not to be taught for I am no longer a child the spirit of god envelopes me with loving kindness and his lights my path with his boundless glory. I need not redemption for hope dwells within my heart." No arrogance there. I'm glad to see that pride hasn't gotten between you and God. |

you use the Bible like a weapon! That is how they got the expression
Bible thumper, your trying to beat people with it. If the Bible is really what you think it is it does not need defending . |

I have seen so many people here explain that this forum is for "The discussion of each persons faith without coersion or judging", but they often forget to include that the forum is also for "Attacking anyone who believes in a religion that requires personal accountablity or includes a book of scripture (books are bad!) or who presents their beleifs with conviction (Believing that you are right is bad too!)" I'm assuming that you are a Christian (from your name), but there are as many differnt types of Christians as there are Christians (something that the majority here really need to learn). Whatever your beliefs, don't let anyone make you stop talking about them. I will defend anyone's right to post their beliefs, so I have your back. |

You are quite right Christ is the rock.
Cling to it and look about you, all that you see including the rock is god for we are contained within all that is and god is all things. The rock is but a part of him. In my faith I must accept Christ. I am not a christian because I will not accept the writings of the disciples. That does not mean I have not embraced the truth of Christ. |

The Bible isn't a club it's a sword. Scriptures are supposed to cut you
to the quick. When you hear the scriptures, the spirit within you hears it also. Your spirit cuts through the lies that you protect you with and reveals the truths that you refuse to face. The Bible is offensive to most people, including Christians. I have seen "Christ followers" mock Christians because they own and read Bibles. |

Wonders of the world exist,

you posted to me... 'First, I would ask you to not make statements of what Christians believe...' _____________________________________________________________ I made not a statement about what christians believe. I made a statement about what I believe. Big difference. You know Christ by your book. I know Christ by my faith. He is the Annointed One of the Prophets of God. Once again big difference. |

I don't care for anyone who refers to his/herself in the third
person..That does smack of "Bible Thumping". |
