Me too but if that gets him thru a night sleeping in the street then so be it.At least I know I attempted to do something nice.Anyway not all homeless people are drunks and addicts.Lots of families out there. Yes, there are becoming more and more homeless families. Even the food pantries are becoming bare. This is where we should be looking at the cause for this, and address this cause... It's called unforseen circumstances.You can save money all you want but one good illness,accident,loss of job etc can wipe it out quickly. And if cute doesn't mind I can add to this list. Homeless people are a majority of mentally unwell individuals, so the healthcare they DON'T GET is also a problem for them. People who have never experienced this in life have no concept of what it is like. One day everything is great and then bam life hits you with one of it's great tests. You lose everything you have worked for all your life in a few short months, are unable to work, every bill is over due, the bank is bouncing checks that you wrote for the bills or auto deductions, rent or house payment is due, no family is able to help because they are all strapped so you slowly sink with no help in sight. If you are eligible to apply for help they take a good while to approve anything so you sink more and more. Before you know it you are homeless, broke, still sick or whatever hit you and there you are. |

i put myself through college on student loans. these are the lowest intrest rate available for a loan. I also was a single parent.so i got Pell grants that paid my tuition and books. the system WORKS. many people dont use it. give criminals, felons, a good education. this is great and I do know that they at least can obtain their GED in prison...at the least. but yanno..fact is they get out...most of em are gonna hit the streets again and make money the easy way. I doubt if that is a fact. hahaha how many felons have you known winx??? I can email you my resume if you want. But..I won't say it on here. |

from what I see EVERYDAY....people that want help...get help. it shouldnt be made any easier. and if so......hey I could use a handout every now and then too. |

Maybe more money is needed is needed for programs because there are more people needing help than ever. What programs are you talking about? I guess that's where we are different. I don't look at it as a hand-out. I look at it as a helping hand.

i really love it how if you dont support in INCREASING the funding in these programs...its like you dont care about helping anyone. my point of view, i see these programs working EVERYDAY. what more is it we need to do???? tell ya what.... put more money into education???? sure, but there are programs and oppurtunities available ALREADY. if a person finds it to stressful and too much work to follow through with any of these programs....they are not gonna cut it in college anyhow. a helping hand..........its already there for MANY....but it must be reached for |

we are in huge debt rtight now. lets lower taxes for who???????? and then lets also put more money into government funded programs. which they are a good thing...im not knocking them but enough is enough |

I dont want to take there money. im assuming that they earned it and have a right to it in most cases.
but i refuse to watch my family suffer or go without when ive worked my azzz off to get a good job. in healthcare btw. dont socialize that...cuz then it aint even gonna be worth my trouble |

it is also amazing that people care so much about our HOMELESS AND POOR
but not about others. tell ya what...not so many americans are starving..and let me also say that an ER doc doesnt judge a person by the money they have when treating EMERGENT conditions. they walk through those doors...we are LIABLE. some people in this WORLD dont even have THAT MUCH |
