Topic: Spreading The Wealth The Obama Way | |
---|---|
Until we all sit back and acknowledge that the government can no longer be the world police, and can no longer afford to do everything for everyone from the time they are born until the time they die, we will continue this saga that has been going on for decades.
There are many smart and HONORABLE people that have mentioned how his economic policy wont change much of anything... |

I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application. Income has been getting redistributed from the middle class to the upper class for 8 years! What do you thinkthe bailout was?LOL The bailout was the next step in governmental control policies. We all got taken to the cleaners... When they get done 'spreading' that particular bit of wealth our government will have controlling interest in several industries. Government... Not dems, Not Repubs... that which the two of them are (Government by special interest)... NOT BY THE PEOPLE, NOT FOR THE PEOPLE, (How many of YOU opposed the bailout?). I reckon when ya'll find out who will actually benefit from the 'redistrubition' there are going to be some pissed off poor and 'middle class' people out there. And many, many less viable business left within the boundries of this nation we call home. |

Obama/McCain = Both bought... They both voted to expand the government into the corporate market. They both voted to give Paulson limitless power with out abilities. Now American taxpayers are short 1.5 trillion dollars more than before and corporate CEO are getting 50 million dollar bonuses. ANyone who voted for it was either bribed, or threatened. Either case they are either corrupt or just didn't do their homework.... |

Redistribution of wealth is not a concept we should be fighting for. Do not take from one and give to another. Things like this start wars...

Redistribution of wealth is not a concept we should be fighting for. Do not take from one and give to another. Things like this start wars... So do you think there should be only a flat tax? Its one things to talk about concepts another to actually make good and fair policies. I am interested in what you think is fair. |

Redistribution of wealth is not a concept we should be fighting for. Do not take from one and give to another. Things like this start wars... When you build and operate infrastructure; i.e. roadways, pipelines, powerlines, schools, police stations, fire stations, sewage systems and others you are redistributing wealth. Items like these are needed and are paid by taxes. Coincedently if you did the opposite of "redistribution of wealth" which is horde the wealth not only will you be called Mr. Scrooge but, as any ecomonics professor will tell you, you'll only create a depression. |

Actually I believe the 'Fair Tax' to be a better option... but of course that would eliminate a huge governmental division... the IRS... Oh what a loss. |

Economics professor say that to get out of a depression you have to spend to out of one, but you have to spend it in the right way, like government spending in the infrastructure, instead of say personal spending like gas guzzling hummers, breast implants, or personal vanity items. By the way when you build and maintain infrasture you put people work and create jobs. |

Me too but if that gets him thru a night sleeping in the street then so be it.At least I know I attempted to do something nice.Anyway not all homeless people are drunks and addicts.Lots of families out there. Yes, there are becoming more and more homeless families. Even the food pantries are becoming bare. This is where we should be looking at the cause for this, and address this cause... It's called unforseen circumstances. You can save money all you want but one good illness, accident, loss of job etc can wipe it out quickly. And if cute doesn't mind I can add to this list. Homeless people are a majority of mentally unwell individuals, so the healthcare they DON'T GET is also a problem for them. People who have never experienced this in life have no concept of what it is like. One day everything is great and then bam life hits you with one of it's great tests. You lose everything you have worked for all your life in a few short months, are unable to work, every bill is over due, the bank is bouncing checks that you wrote for the bills or auto deductions, rent or house payment is due, no family is able to help because they are all strapped so you slowly sink with no help in sight. If you are eligible to apply for help they take a good while to approve anything so you sink more and more. Before you know it you are homeless, broke, still sick or whatever hit you and there you are. doesnt some of the blame go to the people who took this easy money gettingg an ARM and taking loans of to do things (living beyond their means) so what?do you leave kids to starve on the streets because of adult decisions?I think not. |

(Sent to me by the way... didn't actually do this myself) Today on my way to lunch I passed a homeless guy with a sign that read: 'Vote Obama, I need the money.' I laughed. Once in the restaurant my server had on a 'Obama 08' tie, again I laughed as he had given away his political preference -- just imagine the coincidence. When the bill came I decided not to tip the server and explained to him that I was exploring the Obama redistribution of wealth concept. He stood there in disbelief while I told him that I was going to redistribute his tip to someone who I deemed more in need--the homeless guy outside. The server angrily stormed from my sight. I went outside, gave the homeless guy $5 and told him to thank the server inside as I've decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy was grateful. At the end of my rather unscientific redistribution experiment I realized the homeless guy was grateful for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn even though the actual recipient deserved money more. I guess redistribution of wealth is an easier thing to swallow in concept than in practical application. That is the most ridiculous statement I have heard............your actually using an analogy of a personal experience to equate to government policies.............yeah education in America does suck.............my kids are going to England for school on that comment alone............... |

When a war has ever been started with that concept really..............if you think about it we dont have much else..........instead of giving people who lost their homes to crooks like (Merrilyn Lynch, Countrywide, etc) we give it back to the guys who are wealthy to let them keeps stealing from us................you have to be kidding is this high school i cant believe grown people see nothing but color to this day...........wow Racism is truly ALIVE....... |
