and y'all just punished the waiter.by taking his money and giving it to the homelss. guess tmrw if the waiter wants to get to work....I hope his next table gives him some gas money.

Me too but if that gets him thru a night sleeping in the street then so be it.At least I know I attempted to do something nice.Anyway not all homeless people are drunks and addicts.Lots of families out there. Yes, there are becoming more and more homeless families. Even the food pantries are becoming bare. This is where we should be looking at the cause for this, and address this cause... It's called unforseen circumstances.You can save money all you want but one good illness,accident,loss of job etc can wipe it out quickly. And if cute doesn't mind I can add to this list. Homeless people are a majority of mentally unwell individuals, so the healthcare they DON'T GET is also a problem for them. People who have never experienced this in life have no concept of what it is like. One day everything is great and then bam life hits you with one of it's great tests. You lose everything you have worked for all your life in a few short months, are unable to work, every bill is over due, the bank is bouncing checks that you wrote for the bills or auto deductions, rent or house payment is due, no family is able to help because they are all strapped so you slowly sink with no help in sight. If you are eligible to apply for help they take a good while to approve anything so you sink more and more. Before you know it you are homeless, broke, still sick or whatever hit you and there you are.

I can't get a loan due to bad credit from divorce but the pell grants are a good thing.

I can't get a loan due to bad credit from divorce but the pell grants are a good thing. best thing is nobody is denied a student loan. not that Im aware of. and the intrest rates are very very low.

i put myself through college on student loans. these are the lowest intrest rate available for a loan. I also was a single parent.so i got Pell grants that paid my tuition and books. the system WORKS. many people dont use it. give criminals, felons, a good education. this is great and I do know that they at least can obtain their GED in prison...at the least. but yanno..fact is they get out...most of em are gonna hit the streets again and make money the easy way. The problems with education start long before college. Children of people with more money are able to get better educations and therefore have more options after high school.

I also was a single parent.so i got Pell grants that paid my tuition and books. the system WORKS. many people dont use it. give criminals, felons, a good education. this is great and I do know that they at least can obtain their GED in prison...at the least. but yanno..fact is they get out...most of em are gonna hit the streets again and make money the easy way. Which is where redestribution of wealth would be a good thing.

Nurses are in short supply and some states will pay for the school if you agree to work in the profession in that state for a certain lenght of time. Might check with your local nursing school

I was not a rich kid. i went to a old small town public school. Im sure if your parents have money.you are better off. mine didnt. but im not paris hilton either, and im not raising her. nor do I admire paris hiltion who did not work for what she got. but perhaps her father is to be admired. i grew up in the school of hard knocks. and Ive worked my own azzz off to give my children more of a chance than i had. maybe my daughter will be a CEO someday, who knows.

I can't get a loan due to bad credit from divorce but the pell grants are a good thing. Pells grants are only a fraction of the cost. I had one and still worked 3 jobs to pay bills.
