I for one have emailed directly our Canadian Prime Minister expressing my concerns of overlooking safeguards on AI.. I'm sincerely hoping the concerns will be noted and addressed.. I'm aware he no doubt does not read them himself but I WOULD hope the concern will be forwarded on to him as valid..

it's a cold 'n rainy day in da hood.. it's definitely a fall day.. leaves are dropping like crazy and the farmers are out tilling their fields after reaping the crops.. furnace has kicked in more than usual, obviously cuz of the cold and damp.. but now it's time to focus on the inside of the house.. so more laundry today and the kitchen needs a good cleaning as do the floors (wearing my rubber boots and trodding thru the house all summer can cause the tiles to get a tad messy) one thing at a time tho.. hope everyone has a good day..

the reason for all that is, the main office is in Pacific time.. 3 hrs behind Eastern.. and will show up differently at times.. when you get an email notification it says the time in EST.. but when you login and check the actual email here, it'll have a PST time..

OT: Started watching Neagley S01 it's not bad.. Reacher is in the first episode which is a cool way to start.. but haven't gotten too far into the season enough to form a proper opinion yet..

howdy folks.. welcome to a new week.. the house is 99% winterized YAY.. FINALLY.. been SOO busy getting the outside and exterior of the house winter ready I haven't had a lot of time for much else.. other than cuz I've been SOO tired.. phew..

never did get to finish my deck roof tho.. but it's winter ready.. and hopefully next spring I'll be able to get the actual roof on.. oh well..

only thing left to do is the leaves.. but the trees are still fairly full of those yet so once they get winter naked.. I'll be able ta mulch 'em into lawn food 'fore the snow falls.. at least that's the plan ya never know with mother nature.. she often has her own ideas

that was something he mentioned.. that a lot of the 'safety' people working at OpenAI and Anthropic either quit or were laid off.. which means there are not enough coders to put safety features in place to stop the AI's from jailbreaking themselves.. and that has nothing to do with programing.. it has everything to do with allowing the programs to be 'self-taught' which leaves a crack in the door so to speak that gives AI access to information on the net and to the dark web, message boards and to connect to nefarious people and black hat hackers..

although your opinion of blame might seem valid.. you can't control traffic without stop lights.. so your comment about requiring regulations and heavier safety features is bang on.. everyone needs to reach out to their government officials and make their voices heard.. however this is not something I'd choose to "HAVE to live with"
