Personality differences I can understand, when you are typing out what you are trying to say it is easy to delete and rephrase. In person it can sound like rambling...lol Or you might have someone who is more outgoing online but in real life they are a little shy. What was referring to was differences like physical or age wise. People will use a 'modified' version of their picture and when it does not look like them in person they claim it is just their avatar picture...lol Or when you meet someone who said she was 29 (back when I was 38) but as you get to know them in person that ages comes down a few years. Then you meet her mother who says she is only 19!...lol (She looked good for 29, but not so good as 19). I am sure I am not the only one with 'catfish' stories...lol I can be a rambler.. sometimes.. when I'm really REALLY tired
this is true.. about outgoing vs shy.. we all have our moments but it is easier for some to hide behind the screen in order to be more "themselves".. personally? I don't give a fug.. I'm blunt both online AND in person.. mind you.. I can sometimes nicer online
ah.. ok.. yeah.. that makes perfect sense.. putting up a pic of oneself at 40 instead of at ones true age of 60 can be a slight deterrent huh
I had one kinda like that.. his pic showed him all buff and in amazing shape.. met him in person and he was a good 40 lbs overweight, he said he rarely drank, turns out he was an alcoholic.. he said he lived in a 'grand place'.. it ended up being a dive apartment cuz he was a gambler.. so NO.. you are NOT the only one with 'catfish' stories.. sadly..

Yes, it can most certainly happen. You can feel a click & resonance via chat as well as in real life. Nothing strange about it. It's all related to energy and you can pick up on that any time, any place. It's not bound to personal encounters at all. you and I have clicked Crystal.. it's called Kismet

I have met girls online that I felt a connection with. But most of them did not last long because who they were online and who they were in real life did not match up. what if... just throwing this out there.. their personality in real life matched up with theirs online.. am I to assume then that you've never met anyone like that? |

1. Have you ever felt a real connection with someone just through chatting? I have yes.. 2. Did it turn into something real, or did it fade away? I did meet someone off this site years ago and dated for about a year.. it didn't work out tho.. it didn't fade.. he just wasn't for me.. 3. And… do you think online chemistry can be stronger than real-life chemistry? sometimes yes.. then you meet in real life and see a different side of that person.. one that doesn't necessarily jive with the person you thought you got to know.. that's been my experience meeting men.. women on the other hand.. I met one when I first got here and we've been best friends for 20 yrs now.. |

there are no cougars (unless you're talking about the women
) and/or mountain lions, nor bears or any wolves etc where I am.. only those in human form.. which is bad enough
I know some who DO regret leaving Europe.. just like I know some here that regret those who came from Europe
although sorry to hear you tried to come to Canada but it didn't work out.. one of these days I plan on visiting more of Europe, the UK, Australia & Asia.. hopefully when things die down politically that is.. |

in 2001 the insurance cut me off financially and said I wasn't a handicap (as I started to say above).. but in 2010 they decided I WAS a handicap, so they gave me a special parking pass, but haven't paid any more $$
mind you.. I have the disabled deduction on my taxes now tho.. woop de doo

did I forget to mention that I've worked very hard on myself after the dr's & specialists left me in 2001 at only 9% use of my left side? I'm now at about 85%.. although I still use a cane for balance as I sometimes teeter.. my kids used to sing their version of that song for the toy "weebles wobble and they sometimes fall down" that's me
when my dr said they couldn't do anything more for me.. I sat down in front of him and told him "firstly, I'm ditching your morphine and codeine crap" and went cold turkey.. spent a week in bed but it was SOO worth it.. haven't needed OR wanted either since.. then "secondly.. I'm going to do my own thing moving forward" and he simply told me to keep him posted.. which I did, once a year.. first year? I was 27%.. I showed HIM! I went out and got a puppy and forced myself to walk him twice a day.. every day I took 1 or 2 steps more.. until I managed to make it around the entire block.. then I expanded my trips bit by bit.. I re-taught myself to type using my left hand.. I also forced myself to brush the dog and my own hair with my left hand.. it was a challenge but I persisted and pushed thru the pain.. although today I can't hold my arms up above my head.. I manage by using stools, benches and ladders to reach upwards.. my dad always taught me that "where there's a will.. there's a way".. I can't do marathons or bike, I walk instead.. I can't do standard exercises.. but I can shovel (to a point, that I of course push past every time )
it's taken me 2 summers so far to redo my deck out back.. 1st summer I replaced the steps and the deck itself (it's 14'wide by 18'long).. last summer I put up the railings and posts to support a real roof, I also installed a framework to support a tarp so it was at least sun/rain free.. this summer I need to install an actual roof.. not sure how I'm going to manage that on my own but.. I'll figure something out.. I'm not rich either so choose not to spend money on contractors.. my kids aren't close enough to actually help (at least the one with experience isn't) the other is not very useful.. he can use a screwdriver.. just not sure he can cut angles lol anywho.. I'm sorry to hear about your fall.. sounds nasty.. but to not have time to properly heal sucks.. at least here my insurance paid.. not much mind you and after 2 years they decided I wasn't a handicap.. but.. I could barely move.. go figure.. and why I had to re-invent myself as I had no income and was a single mom of 2.. so yes.. I can relate! I'm glad you're now taking the time to heal.. working on yourself.. I do that just about every day.. it's amazing what one can do with simple mind exercises.. how we can trick ourselves into doing more or doing something different or even differently.. the mind is such a powerful tool.. it can change our perceptions and even our habits..

Prolly missed it. Got bored & walked into this thread when the guests were leaving & negligently dropped my ignorant 2¢ worth in the key bowl. Now that you mention the "NULL" (that part which I am completely ignorant of) it comes into focus that there is potentially more to the tale than an old debater of numerical Cardinality carried in as a bias in his assessment of the context here. That's not an account locking offense, is it? Because I can edit it out before the AI-bot flags a digital packet it's told to watch out for. yuppers.. ya did I was wondering where that 2¢ came from.. I'm thinking you should be safe but ya never know with AI-bots these days.. they seem to be like pac-men.. gobbling up whatever they feel like

that's cool.. I use a VPN as well.. gotta stay safe in this crazy world huh .. I have a site I can download programs from and watch at leisure.. and one where I can keep up to date on when new seasons start.. when new shows are coming and which are cancelled.. it contains all the international shows as well.. https://next-episode.net/ Indeed gotta stay safe, hihi. Thanks for the website! I've got it in my faves now for easy access.
another that is pretty cool as well is.. https://www.metacritic.com/ you can actually rate the shows and movies there.. which is like being a "siskel" or "ebert" type critic.. |

40+C??? In Canada??? Are you sure, haha. I mean that's crazy! Last few years we can get around 36C over here. Sometimes for a few days to a week but some years it lasts for over a month. Horrible as it's too stinking hot to do anything. I'm thinking of investing in an AC as it keeps happening every year nowadays. As for Canada... I've seen in the Mantracker series that many areas have an insane amount of mosquitos. Now I have seen a lot of mosquitos in Australia, but not nearly as bad as in some areas shown in Canada. A steady 20-25C... apparently there are quite a lot of countries within that range. Google comes up with Australia & Brazil. Now not all of Australia. Northern part gets frigging hot & is incredibly humid. The centre is desert and will get stinking hot in summer (50+C) and very cold in winter. Well, not like Canadian cold, hihi, but still freezing cold. But I gather the east coast and towards the south, maybe Adelaide area. Adelaide area was really nice btw!! yup.. VERY sure.. gets really hot here in the summer.. and why I have central (forced air) heat AND A/C.. yeah.. skeeters are pretty much everywhere.. usually thicker in forested/swampy areas and not ALL summer, thankfully.. round here I do pretty well.. however in the spring.. blackflies will eat you alive!! those and deer flies..
then maybe I should head to Australia.. g-day mate Adelaide it is then.. not sure about Brazil tho.. beautiful people and country.. just south america can be a tad scary at times..
and yeah.. I'm aware that Australia has some wicked scary bugs and snakes too.. eesh lol |

Technically, null (zero) comes BEFORE all others, not last. I sometimes wonder if I talk in tongues
that's why I changed the NULL (0) to the last letter of the alphabet.. "Z"

than I assume, if I had to say something about myself, I'm (a?) lightworker..
funny how you mention career choices and either specialists or multi-potentialites.. I'm definitely the latter.. started as a CPA and although I love working with numbers still.. got bored quickly enough.. turned to retail.. excelled at that until the car accident in 1999 which then paralized me on my left side.. couldn't do a normal job any longer OR go into a workplace so reinvented myself into an independent contractor.. worked from my home office from 2001 to end of 2024.. been retired since.. not that I don't have opportunities.. just bored of working and would rather enjoy the freedoms of doing what I want, when I want.. not that I'm rich or anything.. far from it.. I live off my pensions.. I'm frugal (not cheap ) just watch what I spend & when.. but over the course of my life I've done many things work wise... interior decorator and designer.. do renovation/building-construction.. cabinet builder.. furniture refurbisher.. environmental activist (although no pay there LOL) and even tried my hand at politics...
I guess.. like you.. I get bored easily unless I'm being creative.. which I'm currently working at re-doing my interior upstairs (refreshing paint and adding new decor) and finishing the basement (building walls, installing ceiling & floor tiles/wood, painting etc).. I just added a fan to my upstairs shower 'roof' and built a box around it.. I finished the sides off with pallet wood.. looks pretty cool.. kind of turning my home into a mythical/medieval-ish wonderland.. I've painted a hall wall with a large tree and field flowers.. added some wildlife.. have some real tree bark drying out and will add that to the mural as well.. so.. just having some fun
I also designed and built my 4 poster/canopy bed and just last week made a new canopy for it.. dragged some fabric out to make a new duvet cover too earlier today.. like I said.. I'm having fun!! but I digress as well.. nope.. enjoying myself as well.. been a long while since we chatted so.. it's fun discovering more about you and our commonalities/differences!
