I'm really glad the partnership has been renewed.. this was the "understanding" I had and I was hoping for an announcement soon but on THE day I wrote to my PM? how very serendipitous huh..

PM Carney has taken great strides to renew our connections with Europe and so far, they all seem extremely positive.. especially now with all the threats coming up from our longest friend and ally, the USA.. which saddens me deeply.. the rhetoric is disappointing, disheartening and maddening all at the same time.. but we will not succumb to bullying and are forced to extend our hand elsewhere to solidify our economy.. not that we haven't had relations in the past with Europe, we are simply broadening those relationships to secure our future..

however the future of AI is so precarious at this stage and I'm very glad that the "five eyes partnership" is taking the threats seriously.. the thoughts of a present day "skynet" are absolutely terrifying.. and yes.. we should all keep abreast of the advancements and securities being done on AI.. there are however a few countries that terrify me the most, as their leaders (dictators & zealots) may not see the inevitable destruction their 'race to the finish line' might create by running in half co-cked..

I completely agree with our need to air our concerns.. and I assume we here in Canada have those in charge of our AI development as well.. I do know there are talks with other countries on those developments and believe the UK is in those discussions as well.. at least that is my understanding..
