it seems it's only the US news outlets that are blaming Canada for all the smoke..
oddly enough, I'm in canada and I'm not seeing any problems NOR are there any reports or alerts been posted yet in my area.. anywho.. I'm out.. have a good one.. |

it's not only Canadian fires.. USA today news.. july 16, 2026 (today) "A new heat wave will bring another round of scorching temperatures as several fires in the West continue to grow in what’s already been a deadly fire season. The Babylon fire burning in Utah now covers 100,000 acres and the Aspen Acres fire in Colorado is nearing that size."

thankfully Toronto is far enough away that breathing is not an issue for me.. 
that rain overnight really switched things up for us out this way.. currently 70F (75F with the humidex) YAY.. and the wind is 8-12 mph so NICE.. chance of rain later today but other than that an absolute awesome day.. anywho.. got stuff ta do so.. hope everyone enjoys their day

I don't plan on giving AI any of my personal data or "core qualities" I don't need that chit in my life OR to tell me how to live.. power to those who feel it's a useful tool.. until it's not Then what are you doing online? I mean, how do you think that is run? It's not tons of people connecting you by manually putting plugs in & out of sockets. Nor are there people in huge libraries quickly looking things up in books & encyclopedias whenever you type in a search query. We are used to the net, everyone uses it, even old people. We're familiar with 'bots' which are just programs. The whole of internet is a bunch of programs. This forum, shop software, online banking, etc. etc. AI is the same thing, programs. Yet you do use the internet. I'm not getting into a debate with you about the differences between AI and software programs that have NO affiliation with AI.. the internet was around LONG before AI was even a theory.. in the past searches were based on algorithms and word association.. not AI powered.. AI is a whole other level and is in no way the "same thing".. you have stated your opinion.. I replied with mine.. I believe that after working in the software design field for over 20 years.. I might have a tad more experience in this area.. oh and.. this site/forum is not AI run either.. |
