Sabotage

I wonder how many people simply don't realize that the heart-pounding, fevered pitch of new 'love' doesn't last? Wonder how many give up on a relationship before it has time to evolve into something richer, stronger and actually more intimate? Rather that ruining or sabotaging a relationship, I wonder if many are just unwilling to go beyond the 'I-must-be-with-you-or-I'll-die' stage to the 'I've-never-felt-more-comfortable/accepted/at home' stage? Maybe we've come to equate passion with that initial frenzy of feelings? Not a bad time in and of itself, but when that begins to dissipate, how many lose interest or become bored?

What do women think about?

They think about men, and then they think about the best ways to turn those men into goats. Sort of a "Farmland Alchemy" agenda. I've known a few men who fancied me as the 'Eliza Doolittle' to their 'Professor Higgins'. Women aren't the only ones to set out to change the person they profess to love. I think it happens with folks who have control 'issues'...seems to afflict both genders from what I've seen. |

Obama backwards

Oh, good grief...isn't there enough in the world around us to indicate how much trouble we're in without looking for cryptic messages by playing sound-bites in reverse??? Really...with everything from the economy to the ecology...aren't we already in the proverbial hand basket and well on our way to a living hell? Do people really think Obama will get us there faster some how? This puzzles me.

"Lover Lay Down" Dave Matthews Band
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T1WBYWwYDvQ&feature=related Spring sweet rhythm dance in my head Slip into my lover's hands Kiss me oh won't you kiss me now And sleep I would inside your mouth Don't be us too shy For knowing it's no big surprise That I will wait for you I will wait for no one but you Oh please lover lay down Spend this time with me Together share this smile Lover lay down Spend this time with me Walk with me, walk with you Hold my hands, your hands So much we have dreamed And we were so much younger Hard to explain that we are stronger A million reasons life to deny Let's toss them away See you and me we Lay down look see She and he By my lover's side Together share this smile Each other's tears to cry Together share this smile Lover lay down Oh please Oh please lover lay down Oh please lover lay down And you weep Lover lay down Cause it's over Lover lay down Say love, say love, say love, say love, say love Could I love you Could you love me All the same 'Til we dance away (4x) Chasing me all around Leading me all around in circles Chasing me all around Leading me all around in circles Say... |

I've never understood 'texting'. I'd rather just call and leave a quick voice mail...just seems easier to me.
I checked out 'Twitter' on-line. I don't get it. Seems a bit egocentric to me. Just not sure I care about what so many people had for lunch, ya know? I'm sure that most don't care about mine. |

These were some of my mother's favorites:
"As homely as a mud fence..." "As clumsy as a pig on ice" And the one that used to really stump us... "It's a 'layovertocatchameddler'!" This was said with lightning-fast speed, as if all one word. It her response to the numerous, "What's that, Ma? What's that? What's that?" coming from her daughters when we were very small. It worked...we wandered off, completely puzzled, every time... |

I don't think I ever will...not in that same, blind, irrational, overwhelming-all-reason way. Not such a bad thing. I'm not saying I won't love again...just saying I'll be wiser next time. I won't allow 'falling in love' to blind me...much better to be loving the person as he/she is...not the person you want him/her to be.

Classic Beauty

Classic beauty is the stuff that doesn't go away with the passing of years. It's heart, spirit, warm eyes, captivating smile...maybe even bone structure. The most 'classically' beautiful woman I've ever known was in her 70's and was paralized on the left side from a stroke. She had the most beautiful eyes, a wonderful, if slightly crooked smile, a marvelous sense of humor and enough heart to feel compassion for others. Incredibly beautiful woman.

Yeah, that's creepy, but even creepier is those who request 'interesting' photos. Ummmmm, no...I'll pass. Interesting photos? I could send him a picture of a 1500 pound wild boar that three guys in Texas shot. Or a mule killing a mountain lion. Those are interesting. Great idea! Wish I'd have thought of that at the time... |
