I was married for 25 years,why I stuck it out that long was I just kept hoping he'd change his ways. The marriage actually should of ended at the 15 year point but I'm stubborn and didn't believe in divorce. Now I'd just rather co-habitat with the person I'm committed to. A piece of paper declaring you're married doesn't mean that much, in fact it's not going to change a persons behavior, you can still lie, cheat and and make the spouse miserable. And divorce is not cheap! (at least mine wasn't)

Holidays can be a lonesome time,especially for single people without relatives or friends close by to celebrate. Staying busy helps, volunteering at homeless shelters to serve Thanksgiving, Christmas dinners makes a person see just how fortunate they really are. Joining a church group to sing carols, visit care facilities at Christmas is a good way to spread the joy to others. For me, I usually have to work the holidays. And I try not to get caught up in the commercialization of Christmas, I like to think every day is Christmas.

Jewelry making,sewing, gardening,also going to take up crocheting soon (have a friend that's going to show me how, I'm left handed so book instructions don't help).

A baby has died from the father's abuse, he broke the baby's arm two months ago, then he shook the baby because of its crying, so they took it to the hospital, the hospital alerted authorities of suspected abuse. Th baby died from injuries of being shook. The father of the baby admitted he abused the infant. But! where was the mother of this baby during this abuse didn't she suspect anything? How can you be so naive to not know that your child is crying in pain from a broken arm?

Well this has been an interesting and enlightening topic, everyone has their reasons why they're oppposed or for FWB. I think this topic was a very good topic because it gave me a chance to get to know all of you over 50 people better and your convictions.
