all I'm hearing here is mainstream media talking points.
This thread is a microcosm of the shallow consciousness of America in that regard. This soundbyte mentality overshadows the real problems facing our country and how the real problems are overcome but rarely. Solutions to complex social contracts abrogated by enlightened self interests will always accompany dispiriting the rule of law. It is the very nature of laws to begin with that is a controlling mechanism of governance and a behavioral bridle of the actions of a people. With the overwhelming flood of laws upon laws and regulations and oversight and redress of grievances, is it any small wonder that loopholes are carefully and diligently sought out for any liberty at all to move about freely in trade and productivity meant to provide future prosperity and security for hard working people? Bigger government and expanded government employment comes at a huge cost to entrepreneural liberty and creative forces ae stifled under such weight and burden of undue influence and control by government of antithetical and philosophically divergent non-governmental endeavors. Awareness of Ifill's book and her political ties makes for an interesting snapshot of the political landscape today. She stands to make 350k minimum if the book sells 100k units. She has a vested interest in the outcome of this debate being one favorable to the liberal agenda in sentiment. She stands to gain nothing from her book if Obama looks like a deer in the headlights after the election on November 4. Her book will be a moot exercise in futility if Obama cannot deliver up to the celebration her subject matter delved into with that book. It fits. Some want things both ways. Democrats are just like Republicans in that regard. |

Couric - Which is your favorite fast food restaurant?
Palin - Well....I believe fast food places hold a dear place in the heart of all Americans, and.. Couric - I meant, which one's do you like? Palin - I'm glad you asked me that, because just this morning I ate some gold old American eggs and ham and it was delicious. Using our domestic resourses to make meals is a cornerstone of our society, and I believe in keeping more of those precious, yes Caty precious resources at home is a job I'm anxious to do if I am so lucky as to be chosen for the second highest job in the land, and...... here is a small sample of some of the pork added to the Senate bailout spew, I mean stew.
Here's a list of new & "extended" pork included in the Senate version: New Tax earmarks in Bailout bill - Film and Television Productions (Sec. 502) - Wooden Arrows designed for use by children (Sec. 503) - 6 page package of earmarks for litigants in the 1989 Exxon Valdez incident, Alaska (Sec. 504) Tax earmark “extenders” in the bailout bill. - Virgin Island and Puerto Rican Rum (Section 308) - American Samoa (Sec. 309) - Mine Rescue Teams (Sec. 310) - Mine Safety Equipment (Sec. 311) - Domestic Production Activities in Puerto Rico (Sec. 312) - Indian Tribes (Sec. 314, 315) - Railroads (Sec. 316) - Auto Racing Tracks (317) - District of Columbia (Sec. 322) - Wool Research (Sec. 325) That ought to fix the liquidity mess, huh? This is how the Senate listens to us. They are addicted to something that is not healthy. free lunch programs that are not free. |

Palin is getting slammed because she deftly had nothing to say about other SCOTUS decisions in a negative light?
Clinton does that all the time when a question isn't to his liking. He is called masterful. In a country where politics and religion are not discussed at the dinner table and among close friends, I find it amusing that Palin is pounded for reticense. How titillating can CBS get without losing its' discretion and still build anticipation for airing of the next interview? Palin reminds me of Reagan in the way she speaks to the public. She also appears to be cognizant of not overshadowing McCain, seeing that she isn't the Presidential candidate herself. The PBS debate between Palin and Biden will be a revealing one. Might we all suggest some fair and balanced venue for another with a FOX debate employing Sean Hannity as mediator? |

So far, Pelosi's mess with this is above board.
But it doesn't look good, true. I am not a fan of her, if you've guessed that already. But she is smart and sharp as a tack. Obama has his hands full dealing with her running the House. He doesn't quite grasp how powerful she has become by virtue of her longevity in the House. She is a formidable player in Washington politics and most do not realize how much she influences Congress by her activity or inactivity, depending on how one views her contributions to the Congress. But it is Pelosi that warrants the dismal approval rating given the Congress by the citizenry. Lobby California to get rid of her. But put something in the KOOL AID, or it won't get the desired effect. Pelosi is very wealthy, by the way. She is a scraper. |

It is only a protection for the underwritten loan.
Upon default, payment is made to the first mortgagor for the failure of the buyers equity position in foreclosure, if upon sale, the collateral asset yields a shortfall when sold at auction. Usually, the foreclosure sells back to the first mortgagor at auction for the price of the loan balance. All subsequent seconds and thirds, if there, must clear the first and payoff the first lender and acquire the asset at auction. That rarely happens. Often, the first will sell the property at a value less than the loan balance if the PMI can make up the shortfall upon the distressed sale. For the most part, first lenders do not DUMP distressed properties into the market. The MLS reflects appraisals and too many DUMPS lowers all values in that asset class. This is called the REO market in banker language. REO means Real Estate Owned assets. REOs. Typically, banks hold these properties until the market rises sufficiently to sell them at a balanced price. The bankers historically know better than to DUMP distressed properties held in REO without great reservation. I have rehabbed these properties for certain banks over the years as a General Contractor. It may return as lucrative bread and butter account activity for Contractors. OOPS. IU gave away one of my niche eggs. Hope that helps understand how this is played. But the federal government will not be so careful in DUMPING distressed properties, I do believe. None of the idiots in Washington understand real estate value appraisals nor do they understand banker dynamics in the REO market. The feds may tank everybody's values if they get too temeritous. But that's another story. LOL |

Californians are up in arms about her, even though Californians have voted her in for so long.
That is why she chairs the House, her tenure is so long. I have no statistics to back it up, but the vocal here in California are calling for her head. The democrats are calling for Cindy Sheehan to replace her at the ballot box. AT the least, Pelosi may fall from grace here, but her replacement is no improvement. California taints the whole balance of power by the sheer size of the population here. Please do not forget that fact. California is liberal nirvana, politically, and pure hell, morally. But it's home and always entertaining. LOL KOOL AID isn't just for kids anymore. |

When people take out loans, they have to accept PMI (Private Mortgage Insurance). How does this fall into place with foreclosures and this big mess that's going on? PMI is required of the bank originating the loan when the borrower is insufficiently capitalizing owner equity in the purchase. Typically, that means PMI is required when the down payment is less than 20%. Today, that down payment may be as high as 40% as bankers plug in lower future home prices in this correction. Such has been the case for prudent lenders for over a year and a half now, at least in California. PMI indemnifies the first mortgagor from default. It is a buy in for the mortgagee to sweeten the loan when it gets sold off to recapitalize the originator, your bank. If this was answered already, ignore my redundant post. |

"My people perish for a lack of knowledge"
we are lousy parents and teachers, war. Or lousy children and students. I get just a little angry when I learn on my own the things that were never taught me in school or college. The funny thing about history that keeps me from being too angry is that history is written down. Man has this peculiar propensity to write everything down and hoard what is written. The institutions of higher learning edit too much. They also editorialize too much. But deep in the recesses of their neglect of duty remains the facts to be dug up and dusted off and exposed to daylight. And flipped in arrogant fashion with much hubris, we that dissent from their pretty picture are called "crackpots". Irony is closer to humor than rage, it seems. At least such a muse keeps this crackpot sane. KOOL AID isn't just for kids anymore. |

The HopeChange GroupThink Mindthoughts Song Big Brother Approved. I'll let Kim Priestap delve into just how creepy and reminiscent of the concerts by kids in totalitarian states this is, and focus on those behind it. While described as a grassroots effort, Kathy Sawada, who posted the video and can been seen directing the children in the video, is a bit more than just an enthusiastic music teacher you might find in your average public school. Sawada is a teacher at an elite and expensive Colburn School of Performing Arts in Los Angeles as part of the Piano faculty. Colburn just built a $120 million 12-story high-rise addition for their musicians. Does a concert-quality musician in an elite school in the middle of the most ego-centric city in the United States count as a "grassroots" effort? Here's a partial list of those who helped produce this "grassroots" effort: Jeff Zucker — American television executive, and President & CEO of NBC Universal. Post-producer (former choreographer?) Holly Shiffer. Motion picture camera operator/steadicam specialist Peter Rosenfeld (appropriately enough, worked in "Yes Man," a movie about " a guy challenges himself to say 'yes' to everything for an entire year." Darin Moran, another motion picture industry professional, who just finished filming — how appropriate — Land of the Lost. Andy Blumenthal, Hollywood film editor. Grassroots all the way, baby In Hollywoodland, anything is possible. These people may be RICH ... but they are sick in the head |
