Better to waste some time than to be looked completely over because you blend in with the scammers. Nope. Won't bother. I'm not selling, begging, or looking. |

I did profiles, posted photos, wrote messages. What did I get? Goose egg. I don't doubt others like me have done the same for no good end. It's a lot of work and wasted time. Then someone gripes about open profiles.
You aren't seeing it from our side. Bet I re-wrote my profile a dozen times. Never changed a thing. Hundreds of messages sent with no replies. Invariably, some doofus Will come along and tell us we aren't trying hard enough. My trying hard days were long ago. By the way, I never expected the "Hi" to work, and it never did. (Yes I tried it a couple times) Five years ago, I decided to work on my own situation, and the heck with this dating business. Rattle off a few lines, post it as a profile, and proceed to forums. No forums? I'm not there. There's no reason to, from my point of view. So, the next time you think about questioning why profiles are so short, study on the reasons why some just don't bother. |

older men

Many older men experience problems with getting older -more so than women. Men derive their sense of worth from status like a good job, money, a house, a nice wife and so on. As they age they notice they cannot keep up so much anymore. Younger men are faster, have new knowledge and education and so on. The so called midlife crisis. They seem to feel they can resolve these problems by getting a young woman, just like you often see old geezers drive a sport's car. Kind of to say "See, I'm still worthy! I still matter!" Apparently men also experience more hormonal changes than has been assumed for a long time. Many of us guys just take it as it comes. We figured out status is garbage. Some do put status as something to attain. Then guys like me look at the status seeker, and say to them in their mind, 'You idiot'. One I knew pretty well, we put him in the hole a couple years ago. The only person I have to keep up with, is me. Midlife crisis? Never saw it. You could say I did, because I ride. But since I started at age 12, I never stopped. A few past girlfriends thought I'd stop when I got involved with them. Instead, I got uninvolved with them. No woman is more important than me riding. |

The Abortion Debate

I see the problem as a mix-up of state and religion. In Alabama, ALL the men voted to make abortion illegal and ALL the women voted against it. The men won only because there were more of them. What does that tell you? It tells me you have no clue about Alabama. |

Hello, Looking for my last significant other. Hard to know who to trust. Leary now of meeting people. Seems sex often conflicts with just slowly getting to know someone decent. Whatever happened to old fashioned values? Then join the club. You can't find a man that won't try to bed you down in short order. I keep finding women that should be dating physiatrists instead of me. It's made me stay single, and not date. You got to learn to say no. |

its as simple as this ! I TRUST THE WORD OF CNN BEFORE I TRUST THE WORD OF DINGBAT DONALD TRUMP THE LIAR AND CHIEF IN CHARGE . You want a lying news source ? Look no further then FAUX(fox) News https://www.theepochtimes.com/cnn-stumbles-in-prime-time-television-viewership-says-ratings-agency_2951616.html More people are turning off cnn, than ever before. I saw fireworks last night. No holiday? Ohh, wait, Trump secured a deal with the Mexican government, and suspended the tariffs. Liberal heads were exploding. |

And since you asked whether CNN pays your electric bill; if you take the big picture with electrical utilities feeding CNN and so bringing down domestic costs and if one weaves this local economy with the profit that is brought in from the overseas sales, the answer is 'yes'.
In other words if CNN confined its broadcast within US borders, your electrical billing rate would be up by a few cents per KWH. That's laughable. CNN hardly is a blip on the screen to our electrical usage. There's three major electrical grids in this country. East Coast, West Coast, and Texas. This country used to have some power problems. Power usage used to create issues. High population areas would draw off power from the low, creating brownouts. One company, AEP took steps before it became a huge issue, by hiring bright young minds, putting them in charge of managing their systems. Now, when this occurs, it hits the AEP firewall. They can feed power back into the systems in need, without cutting off their own customers. It's not Texas, but it can be compared to it. US no longer grows cotton! ********. Cotton farming in this country is a staple for many US farmers. Current acreage in cotton-11 million acres. Hardly just a patch in the back yard. We happen to be third in the world, in cotton production. CNN had better depend on what it shows the world. Because in the States, it sucks. |

AT&T still carries a nickname- American Thugs & Thieves.
I've worked with them and their phone service. If I had an alternative, I'd take it. I used to get screwed over by their long distance service, then I canceled it. They claimed I needed long distance, I told them I never used it. I survived just fine without it, and used my cell for long distance. Anything they get their hands on, they corrupt. CNN is already. MSNBC is about as bad. Several other news services have already warned it's employees not to be interviewed by those two networks. It's a mess, and only getting worse. Until these 'News Sources' start losing advertising dollars, nothing will change. Maybe CNN is, because they're laying off people. What I'd like to see, is them shitcanning people like Anderson Cooper, or Don Lemon. Won't happen. What few do watch CNN, watch those jerks. People are wising up. But it's a very slow process. |

Nope. Just another leftist loon wanting to abolish factory farms. Back in the day, a lot of farmers were encouraged to incorporate for tax reasons. Many now, are called factory farms because of that. |

Depends.
If you can put forth a personality on a keyboard, then you're way ahead of the game. I met one lady from Texas, as she was passing through my town. I got a handle on what she was like online, and she did me. You gotta put forth the effort to message, with what I call expression. Some on here can do it quite well. I learned to, and I'm just a two finger typist. Two tips I push, is avoid slang and text jargon. And take advantage of spellcheck. Oh, three- proofread what you type. Plenty blow it by not taking advantage of the forums. I'm a product of PoF, and DH forums. And I did yahoo instant message forums. All you really have to do, is be willing to post. And know when to stop. |

^^^^ I agree. I've had too many 20/30 year olds wanting to get to know my money. I don't happen to be that desperate. Since all of none seem to go flocking around me in real life, I highly doubt that this site is any great find for young women wanting old fossils like me.

Why is it so hard???

It's also lack of personal growth. Men and women who have gone through personal growth and development, have worked on their issues and are more empowered in resp. their masculinity and femininity do understand the other gender or are at the very least curious to learn and find out.
When both parties are quite empowered cos of the work they've done, there is no struggle, no childish "stubborn" stuff. There's working together, side by side, hand in hand, supporting one another, no desire to change the other, and so on. That's all well and good, if someone holds an interest in psychology. Not everyone does. Many that do, have talked to one, (Or a couple) and find out how fascinating it is to go there. Then, they run about diagnosing everyone that they meet, and love to render opinions. Fine, have a ball. Make sure you collect your fee at the end of the session. May sound far fetched to many, but it isn't all that far fetched at all. The most difficult part is choosing to work on yourself. Most don't, don't want to either. That's where the bottleneck is, NOT with the other gender. When others that have known you, and see nothing wrong, it becomes time to examine the person that wants you to change for them. It becomes time to weigh options, and choose. I've met way too many wanting me to change, and not them. No thank you. Go put your values on some other dope. They may put up a false front just to get something from you. |

Men seem to pick women on there looks instead of the heart. You all seem shallow and judgemental. There are good women out there that are not Barbie and would go out of there way to be loving and caring to a good man. Were not money or material driven like most men think. ^^^^ This. Women are not interested in being seen, wanted, and treated as a piece of meat. And especially the last part is true. The qualities of being money & material driven are masculine. Men often seem to think we function the same way they do and project their qualities and wants onto us. Doesn't work. It works both ways. Guys are visual. Women are mental. I refer to it as a "Stubborn Off", and neither side wants to cater to the other. I wish I could say that I'm above it, but I'm not. I know me too well. I learned at an early age to depend on my own devices, and not depend on the opposite sex for company. In a left handed way, they actually did me a favor. Plenty of times, I've looked at an available woman, and decided that I'm better off not getting involved with her. Kinda shoots the "Real woman" handle down in flames. If one uses that term on me, I know that she wants more than I want to give. I'll regret it later. That's what got me married. And got me divorced. Now, I'm way too cautious. I'm wary of traps, that would cost me in the end. |

You don't ask a guy if he wants to go on a date. If he's really interested he will ask you. It may be 2019, men in general do not like to be chased, they want to chase themselves.
Wanna bet? I'm not one to go running after women. I freely admit that I'm no mindreader. Show me some disinterest, I'll walk away. I happen to be one that does not hear voice inflections. Those subtle hints, I do not see. Play hard to get, means you don't want me around. I tried the chasing bit online. Two years of no replies made me give up. I used to try to post good photos, come up with clever profiles, write thoughtful messages that included me reading profiles over several times, and focusing on what they wrote. It never worked. I was wasting my time. I don't bother anymore. I firmly believe any sexual comments before meeting was taboo. My goal was never sex-oriented until we'd have some understanding of each other first. But, since I never was able to put that into practice, it was just a pipe dream on my part. I decided I'd better find some other interests, and scratch out women as worthwhile pursuit. At least I have some positive outcomes with that. |

I see Republicans as, generally, loud, noisy, gun owning people who want to control everything, with of course the donald as the worst example of this that anyone could think of.
I live here, I'm republican, a small business owner, and I see the dems as the kickback party. I know two other business owners who are staunch republicans. You'd never know it on the surface. Both contributed heavily to electing dems in office. Both got city contracts, and made millions doing it. They played them, got rich, and moved out to another state and retired. No, we don't wish to control everything. Just our own lives. I know those business owners gave the city their best work. It's the way they did things. Let the dems squabble over running things. Let them deal with the messes. The person I'm most concerned with, is the guy sitting behind this keyboard. If my life is set, I'm good. You wanna run things? Go right ahead. If you screw it up, that's your problem. Don't come running to me with your problems and think I'll help. I'm not going to. You get to own that mess. There is a great saying I try to live by- I'll let you make your own mistakes. |

bathroom with a view

This reminds me of an old building I was refurbishing. Used to be a small grocery store. A cold air return was on the wall walking down the steps. Looking up at it from the steps, it had a nice clear view.... of the toilet in the bathroom. Up in the women's, the vent was upside down. Standing in front of it, or even sitting on the toilet, it never looked like you could see anything. But standing on the steps looking up, you'd see it all.
I showed that to the new owner, he thought it was hilarious. It was never used again because I tore that section out of that building, and we filled in the basement. Bet some dirty old man got his jollies out of that. |

One can be conservative but you have to restrict your opinions to within your home, Church or small business. A conservative who effects political law and/or policy is labelled as a NAZI forcing your will on society.
That's true, now. While obama was potus, if you disagreed, you were labeled a racist. The liberal socialist, of course, is considered open minded and educated where the conservative is portrayed as narrow minded and ignorant. Our local mayor running for president (Pete Buttigieg) has made comments that conservative judges on the Supreme court is unacceptable. He plans to modify the Supreme Court to circumvent the conservative justices who have been installed. Had conservatives advanced this idea when all of the liberal justices were installed the entire nation would have protested.. Candidate Buttigieg openly attacked Vice President Mike Pence (when governor of Indiana) because of Pence's Christian religion. Don't you just love it? Modify the basic structure of our government, without putting it to the people? I'd forgotten about this one- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electoral_College_abolition_amendment#Bayh%E2%80%93Celler_amendment Getting rid of the electoral college was tried before. Had it passed, it had an interesting twist. The nominated candidates would have been instilled as president, and vice president. Hillary would have been president-and Trump vice president. This started back during the Nixon years. Bet our country would look way different had it passed. Presently anyone stating and challenging this is maligned and told to keep their views to themself. In today's America only liberal Socialists have true freedom of speech in the national press, on many university campuses and even in some social media. Isn't that the truth? How many times has the media said that Trump stomped out of a meeting? Several times. What did he actually do? Just get up and walk out, saying nothing. But he does shoot himself in the foot with his tweets after the fact. Its his pent up frustration with a failed meeting that gets to him. It's the way he vents. By keeping us informed of situations. No, it's not the best, but at least we know firsthand what happened. Sean Hannity keeps saying that journalism is dead in America. He's right, much to your dismay. We have to search for "Just the facts", without the authors slant on the situation. I know what news sources are polluted with personal viewpoints. Plenty of "Journalists" got their start in the Dem party. Their objectivity got pushed off the cliff before they started off in their sterling new career as a journalist. One of these times, dems might figure out that hillary was, and still is a big zero. I tried to be objective in 2015, I sat and listened to a sales pitch on hillary. It was 20 minutes of saying nothing useful. No promises, nothing mentioned about current events. Just a sermon about very vague, pie in the sky morals that couldn't be applied to the running of this country. Reminded me of one of those "Motivational speakers" that say nothing, inspire less, and weren't worth listening to. (Shades of the Amway pyramid scheme.) I count on things that work. What dems spout off, won't. |
