@CowboyGH
The lie was Abraham decieved the king into thinking Sarah was not married.But funches will not see that,he will play word games with it instead of seeing a wrong was done by Abraham, and not by the king, who payed the price.
Wow, that could be a analogy for...never mind.
Have fun with funches!

2sparrow...I asked you for an example of "Free Will" pertaining to disobedience of God without consequences ...but your example is about someone who supposedly lied to someone else ...this is not disobedience against God...Abraham did everything that God asked him to do ....

you gave a bad example....you won't be able to find anything in the bible where someone used their "Free Will" to disobey God and didn't or wouldn't face retribution

Peter when he denied Christ three times

Look it up and play with that for awhile, when you're done let me know and I'll send another.

"Why is it that Iran seems to be the only country in the middle east that will not bow down to the U.S.?"
--------------------------------------------------------------------
They won't just bow down to the U.S. they won't follow anyone. They never will. There will never be piece in the middle east. That has done been prophesied years ago when Jesus was crucified. For the crucifixion their will never be piece in the middle east.

I have to believe they believe they are the chosen people. Even refering to the Torah.

Cyrus is spoken of many times in the Bible as are many Persian kings. They thought highly of the Israelites Diety Yahweh speaking in manuscripts of thier own of the great knowledge these people had.

Even in 70ad destruction of Jerusalem when the Jews and new converts were fleeing for thier lives the Persians gave them asylem.

Since the Tigris I believe was the Truce line for the Roman Empire and Persian.

Even Peter speaks of the Assemblies in Babylon which was Persia.

1 Peter 5:13-14

13 She who is in Babylon, elect together with you, greets you; and so does Mark my son. 14 Greet one another with a kiss of love.
NKJV

So to me some is hard to understand why they hate Israel now.

Somewhere this hatred had to come along since 70ad where u can find the Jews and New converts fled to already established Assemblies and throughout what old Persia was you can find names of cities who fall in line with the names of Davids Descendants.

I would not even be suprised if the words he has used to destroy Israel are not from the Book of Wisdom itself.The Ps.

Ps 83:1-5

Do not keep silent, O Elohim!
Do not hold Your peace,
And do not be still, O Elohim!
2 For behold, Your enemies make a tumult;
And those who hate You have lifted up their head.
3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people,
And consulted together against Your sheltered ones.
4 They have said, "Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation,
That the name of Israel may be remembered no more."

5 For they have consulted together with one consent;
They form a confederacy against You:
NKJV

Yet i do not believe none of the nationed that is metioned as saying this was ever part of the Persian Empire.

Ps 83:6-8
6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites;
Moab and the Hagrites;
7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek;
Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8 Assyria also has joined with them;
They have helped the children of Lot.

NKJV

It has to go way deeper in his hatred of Israel. Blessings...Miles

About 500 years after this psalm was written all the peoples mentioned in Psalm 83 were part of the Persian Empire.

If what you are suggesting is true, it makes the Hazrat Mahdi the Beast in the book of Revelation chapter 13...(the anti-christ)

>2sparrows<

By that u could say David's Descendents were part of it also. So were the New Believers the Book of Peter speaks of also.

The descendents of David are scattered world wide, as are the "New Believers"

The Persian Empire was friends of the Israelites for a very long time.The 10 who Ps. 83 mentions is very distinct to our time right now. Thier are several family members mentioned who felt they got the Messianic Blessing through them that did not. All but 2 i guess.

At first glance that seems right.

As far as the Anti-messiah i do not see him or whatever coming from iran's philosophies.

Precisely...Just another indication Hazrat Mahdi could be the Beast in the book of Revelation chapter 13...(the anti-christ)

One thing we must remember he will not be known as anyone but who preaches peace and love. He will decieve 99.999999% of the earths population before he is found out.. Blessings....Miles

Kinda scary it has to come to that.

Genesis chapter20
A story of Abraham and his wife Sarah;
Abraham lies about his wife. The king takes her to become his wife. Before it can be consumated the king has a dream from God, finds out the truth. The king sends Abraham and his Wife away with sheep, cattle,male and female slaves,and a thousand shekels of silver (about 50,000 dollars) and said they could settle anywhere in his country.

Hmmm...Abraham lied and got rich...Go figure

Maybe Newton and Abraham live in parallel universes?
One called "Law" and the other called "Grace"

funches wrote:
Matthew 19:24 ....And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

perhaps you should pay more attention to what's in the bible ....just because Abraham became rich do not mean there is no consequences.... ...

Sorry funches you've been caught red handed: The verse you quoted...you stopped a couple verses short:

Matthew 19:26
Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

I think I am paying pretty close attention to what the Bible says, But thank you for your concern and advice.I will see if I can improve.

funches wrote:
perhaps you should read further and show where it states that there would be no consequences for what Abraham did

As you wish, *reading* *turning page* *reading* *turning page* *reading* *turning page*......Ah, hear it is (pun intended) a mere 200 pages later;

Romans 4:1-5
What then shall we say that Abraham,our forefather, discovered in this matter? If in fact, Abraham was justified by works, he had something to boast about-- but not before God. What does the scripture say? Abraham believed God and it was credited to him as righteousness
Now when a mans works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as a obligation. However to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.

*Merry-go-round squeaking to a stop*

2sparrow...why are you still ranting on about Abraham...you were supposed to provide an example of how someone could use their "Free Will" to disobey God without consequences......you claim that Abraham "supposedly" lied to the king and receive profit from it....the king is not God....so can you explain what Abraham "supposedly" lying to the king have to do with Abraham disobeying God ...where is the disobedience to God?

"2sparrow...why are you still ranting on about Abraham"

Because you asked me to? frustrated

What do you mean "supposedly"...I gave you the reference frustrated

As to your last question; CowboyGH already pretty much nailed it.

God loves them just a much as anyone else with a predisposition to sin

However they are called to repentance just as any one else with a predisposition to sin is called to repentance.

Homosexuality is a sin as any other sin, it is forgivable,

BUT....

Those who claim to be Christian and are proud to be practicing homosexuals; these people are either ignorant of the facts or are hell bent to destroy Christianity

Last friday:

The younger crowd did not think I could swing up on my horse. I showed them, and pulled a groin muscle

While trimming two wild horses; one kicked me and the other stomped my foot

In teaching a horse to lay down It jerked to get up and pulled the muscles in my hand

And now I am posting in the over 50 forum.

So what do you think; should I shoot myself right now or give it more time?

do you need to borrow a gun ? :tongue:

Leave it to you Jerry..always sooooooooo helpful!laugh laugh

Great profile, loved your saying, if it could only be remembered and embraced in the mist of the storm! The way you described "your man" warmed my heart.

So basically your saying that unless you get f***ed by god you never have a life. Well, he's been effing me over for years, so I must be good.

Only if your definition of "f***ing" is the same as making "love"

As anyone knows who has had sex; they are totally different things.

And before somebody jumps on the next one...no God does not rape people, the act is mutually consented to.

people these days don't know the difference between having sex and making love.

Prostitutes know the difference....ironic isn't it?
