Would it also not fall under something like the typical Christian beleif of "love the sinner..hate the sin". Again, I agree that "evil" is an act with intent. is a person born "evil"? I personally do not think so. Just as a car can be used to rush someone to the emergency room to save a life, the same car can be used to run 50 people over killing them. So I think strongly that evil is not a 'thing" as posted earlier. It is an action with bad/harmful intent. Like if you were to create the most vile thing in the world knowing what it would do. Correct, action with bad/harmful intent. |

It would be totally out of character for God not to forgive those who have committed atrocities. That is taken WAY out of CONTEXT. Forgiveness from God is possible, but only from a "repentent" heart. Meaning the person is sincerely sorry for what they did and turned away from it. So there is a chance of forgiveness, but it is NOT automatic. Just as I raised my son, he would never get in trouble for an accident or mistake. but if he was to knowingly do wrong, then there would be a price to pay. And knowng there will be a price to pay does help set boundaries in a persons life. Many people have felt like "killing someone"..and many in the literal sense. But what stops them?? Most of the time it will the the consequence, just like life in prison or they get the death penalty. So consiquence is for a reason. |

Evil never existed... Evil wasnt "created".. people dont understand this, however let me explain
In science we measure temperature by Degrees, How hot it is. HEAT exists Cold DOES NOT exist, Cold is mearly a feeling and the absence of Heat. If you dont believe me look it up. Now in The Form of Good and Evil. Good is God, Goodness is measured to Gods Standards which i dont know, Evil is the absence of God, and therefore DOES NOT EXIST as a form more-less only a feeling =) |

To be godless is not evil, it is godless. I am godless and I live a life probably more ethical and moral then alot of godly people do. So this logic does not work. In a religious persons eyes god equals everything, he gives you the evil trials to make you worthy of him so he does evil so you can prove you are worthy, right? He sent the devil to you so you can be tempted and prove you are worthy of heaven, right? So he created evil for his own purpose. |

I must answer this one......As the Lord compels me to do so.... Abra wrote: Wrong and they will pay dearly......trust me on that.
What good will that do? Will that change what they did? Will that make the people who go to heaven feel better knowing that those who have trespassed against them are being justly punished? ANSWER: As it is not us who judges it is neither us who feels better or worse for others actions.....Does it make me feel better to know the rapist will pay eventually for his deeds....yep....will it make me feel better to know that the molestor will pay for what he has done you bet......but am I his judge....no.... Abra wrote: I thought the basis of Christianity is forgiveness. And that God is a forgiving God. Forgive your enemies and wish them no harm. It would be totally out of character for God not to forgive those who have committed atrocities. ANSWER: Yes this is very true......but just because you forgive someone for something they do....doesn't automatically make it ok.......When the book of life is opened all will be judged for what they have done....right or wrong.... Abra wrote: An unforgiving God would be a demon in his own right. No better than those who have committed the atrocities. Committing an atrocity against them by casting them into a hell fire would be to stoop to their level. Is that what God does? Stoop to the level of Hitler? Just to show them who the real boss is? I think not. ANSWER: God is always forgiving but that doesn't mean someone can keep doing sinful things and just think he will be forgiven much much more complex then that. You have to have a complete relationship with the Lord and give yourself to him, heart, mind body and soul.......or choose not to...and deal with the consequences....... Abra writes: Besides, could you really enjoy yourself in heaven knowing there are people eternally suffering in hell? How could enjoy yourself knowing that pain and agony will never cease? All that would have been done is that it would be removed from you eyes. Or maybe not. Maybe there is a window into hell and you can watch those people suffering and enjoy the sadistic moment in memory of that they had done and how much they deserve to be tortured? ANSWER: This one is to easy......I sure could....enjoy the salvation of Jesus Christ.....because I was right with Him.....I chose to live my life as I know would please him....Just as those chose to live against him....and now they pay the price. And you second paragraph is not worth commenting on.....I think not.....yep thats the ticket....not worth a word. Abra writes: Either way doesn’t sound very nice. Wouldn’t a genuinely all-loving God simply let those people die? The whole idea of having an eternal hell fire to torture people for all eternality is clearly a manmade idea. It was thought up out of feelings of a need for revenge (feelings which we aren’t supposed to have) and from an idea of the very thought spending eternity in a hell fire being a deterrent to crime. A deterrent that apparently doesn’t work. ANSWER: You just have fun with that one.....Again your choice to believe however you wish....who am I to say........ Abra Writes: If God created an eternal hell fire in which to cast souls for eternal torture, then God most certainly did create the most evil place anyone can possibly imagine. So all you are saying here is that God did indeed create evil. He created hell! ANSWER: Hmmmm I think not again.....satan satan satan.....he started it....and thats exactly where he will end up. Abra wrote: I don’t believe in a God that would feel a need to create an eternal hell. It simply isn’t necessary. There’s no need to punish wrong-doers for all of eternity. Who would benefit from that? Only those who seek revenge and who cannot forgive. But God said that we must forgive. So the need for hell is an oxymoron within the context of that religion. Just another inconsistency in the mythology. ANSWER: there is |

ANSWER: Hmmmm I think not again.....satan satan satan.....he started it....and thats exactly where he will end up.
All you’re really saying here is that Christianity is a polytheistic religion. It clearly has two God’s a good God and a bad God. There’s no getting around it. This Satan fellow evidently got his wish and became a God in his own right. Even if he is a demonic God. He has his own dominion that he rules over. And evidently this was God’s plan all along. It had to have been. Otherwise God would be a failure. This religion just can’t have its cake and eat it too. Either God had planned to create a Satan and a hell all along, or he is incapable do going what he really wanted to do. He is an inferior God, clearly not perfect. He can’t even execute a decent plan. He failed. The only way he could not have failed is if things worked out precisely how he had planned them to work out. You just can’t have your cake and eat it too. I don’t care what you believe. But the God you describe is a failure. Clear as day. He can’t have both planned this out and not planned it out simultaneously. Either this is what he had in mind, or he failed to produce what he really wanted. The creation of a perfect all-powerful God necessarily has to be the way he wanted it to be or else he’s neither perfect, nor all-powerful. You can’t blame any of God’s failures on anyone else. It just won’t stick. |

You really have a good concept of the potenial power evil haas to shape us. Now Yahweh does not change. When he is reasoned with as Moses did but not for himself but for others. Jonah had a fit because the people of Nineveh repented and Yahweh did not destroy them. But Yahweh had mercy on Ninevah before they repented in sending Jonah to warn them. Now this same thing happened in the garden. Yahweh warned them before the fact. But satan was sly and they fell for it. Yahshua spoke of unless you become like this little child and believe. You will not make it into the kingdom. He gave the same warning that Adam and Eve got. What happened after they ate of the fruit? They no longer were child like. Then you can see everything that happens and it is interesting that Yahshua is called the second Adam. So why were we made in the first place? Yahweh is said to be in the North and the earth is his footstool. So if Yahweh changes not and has always been. Then we see why scientists say the earth is billions of years old. They are correct. At the same time we know Yahshua has been round billion of years. So we must realize that so has the Angels. They know the book inside out what Yahweh's will is. So Satan rebelled. Now is it possible that the Earth was originally for the Angels? That evil and deciet even amoung themselves brought the earth to a state that killed everything. That Yahweh had been giving them a chance to repent for who knows how long. Then finally he banishes them from doing the earth harm themselves. Then Yahweh Recreates Earth back to where it was i9n the beginning. It definately says the earth was here before he started creating..Now we are told we will be higher than the Angels. Even Michael. So this whole scenerio we see is to make man in his own image. Put him as a child in a garden with every care taken care of. But let him learn. let the eventual royalty at the end of Rev. will be from the children who have had to learn his words and ways. Which the Angels never did have to. They knew it. They were before the throne. So all these generation of offspring from Adam and Eve. Would know exactly what satan tempted and told eve in the first place. That they would know good and evil through out thier livess. Live it. Make a choice what they wanted. Then in the comming of the New Jerusalem Those who had chosen good.As we are called the chosen. Yahweh has no doubt of them turning as Satan and is did.To where evil now really does not exist. Since Satan chose what he did. The plan that we are in.Is our own choice and freewill. Evil began but Yahweh is doing away with it through us. Look in the bible and read who will not be in the kingdom. Some pretty evil people.. So Yahweh did not crated Evil. It happened with Satan. He says he turns evil around for good. That is exactly what is happening. Blessings...Miles |

This is like herding cats.
We can all agree Hitler was evil, even if he personally wasn't killing people. Some of these posts run from the creation to Revelations, some go on in great depth about the nature of evil. Some seem to question its existence. Does it need half a page to give your opinion, Did God create evil? If Satan did, did God create Satan, and if so, did He create evil? If man did, did God create man, and if so, did He create evil? |

all im gonna say is that us humans have no tolerance for mental illness.Hitler wasnt evil he was disturbed/mentally ill,etc.Powermadness!6 million jews killed is horrible.250,ooo people died in a tsunami was it evil?

Just sticking with my own beliefs. Yes, God created evil. And that fits in perfectly with my picture of God and creation. Evil is just not what you think it is. Therein lies the illusion. |

Hitler wasnt evil he was disturbed/mentally ill, etc. Exactly. Who's responsible for mental illness? The disturbed person? Clearly not. |
|
|
|
Man invented evil, to manipulate others... it's a human defect... not a godlike defect.
Geez..... is this Contemplation 101, for kindergarten? |

Evil is contextual and is dependent on intent. I don't know if that's always true. There can be, as you pointed out, death without evil e.g. act of nature. But I think that there can also be evil without intent. If a mother kills her child because she decides that the world is too horrible and she wants to "protect" her child from evil then the fact that her intent was harmless in her eyes doesn't keep the act of murdering a child from being an evil act. Or even more commonly, a drunk driver full of joy and laughter and stupidity and carelessness plows into a family car and kills them all. The driver/killer has no intent to harm but to me is still evil. |
|
|
|
BTW I think God created everything and man created "evil" because it was too hard to accept that bad things could happen randomly.
It is hard to believe that no matter what you do, how good a person you are, bad things can still happen to you. So it must be "satan" causing the bad things... someone must be at "fault". |

In the sence that Yahweh create satan and satan rebelled which turned to evil . The yes he did. Yet you have to realize the master is not above his servant.. Yahweh keeps himself pure and his son has also. So to mankind and the Angelic regien has to have free will for the master not to be above his servant. So you can look at anyway you want. And it still will not change anything....Blessings Miles

Hello all...
If a 'God' is all-knowing... If a 'God' is all-powerful... If a 'God' is omnibenevolent... Unnecessary evil would not exist... Unnecessary evil does exist... Therefore an omni-god does not... This has been laid to rest long ago... |

God allowed evil.... The knowledge of evil had to be of an omnipresense God, but not part of God Nature. Therefore when he created man he knew man was able to make decisions for good or bad. But, it was in our will that we made evil, and not God Will, he then takes our bad choices and uses it for His Glory.
Oh, boy this is a huge subject. God created eden, and all that it was. God is all that is good, pure and perfect. Along the lines of something I hope I can grasp someday, I use JOB in the bible one of the older books. Maybe I should have taken a lollipop.. NIght TAB |
