Topic: Did God create evil?

God allowed evil.... The knowledge of evil had to be of an omnipresense God, but not part of God Nature. Therefore when he created man he knew man was able to make decisions for good or bad. But, it was in our will that we made evil, and not God Will, he then takes our bad choices and uses it for His Glory.

Oh, boy this is a huge subject. God created eden, and all that it was. God is all that is good, pure and perfect.

Along the lines of something I hope I can grasp someday, I use JOB in the bible one of the older books.

Maybe I should have taken a lollipop..

Hello all...

flowerforyou

If a 'God' is all-knowing...

If a 'God' is all-powerful...

If a 'God' is omnibenevolent...

Unnecessary evil would not exist...

Unnecessary evil does exist...

Therefore an omni-god does not...

Complete logical fallacy.

Unnecessary evil? What is unnecessary evil? What evil is necessary?

This has been laid to rest long ago...

In your mind maybe.

What snake? Snakes serve a very useful purpose, they eat rodents and other pests. They make good pets. What do you have against snakes?

The apple pushing snake

heres a little bible lesson for you

Genesis 3 vs. 4-5: "And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil".

This might include the angels and demons. ( I believe )

He is the Alpha, Omega, Beginning and End. Was ALWAYS there.

I don't know that Christ is a religion as much as a relationship. Its man that seems to create the religion in order to maintain sanctification and tradition for God's Honor.

You might be right about having similar conversations over and over, but I believe that it might just help those who are looking for a personal relationship with and All Mighty God.

Its never not worth talking about.

Oh.

That wasn't a snake. It was the serpent. Or as he is called in Revelation 12, the Dragon. That was Satan. What was he doing there? No idea. Oh! You are going to go back into "God knew Satan would tempt Eve, so God's evil"? Yeah, that's boring and silly. I've explained it to you man. Paradox. God couldn't know something unless it was going to happen. You are a smart guy, you should be able to understand that concept.

So Christ could crush the head of the serpent in the future.

A philosophy... The coming of the 2nd Adam that was perfect. Jesus Christ.

Yes many people make that mistake but Genesis never mentions Satan or the devil Heres some info from the net

The characters involved in the Genesis record of the fall of man are: God, Adam, Eve and the serpent. Nobody else is mentioned. There is no evidence that anything got inside the serpent to make it do what it did. Paul says the serpent "beguiled Eve through his (own) subtilty" (2 Cor. 11,3). God told the serpent: "Because thou hast done this..." (Gen. 3,14). If "satan" was using the serpent, why is he not mentioned and why was he not also punished?

I know, we already had this discussion. I believe that the serpent is the Dragon is the Devil is Satan. When the serpent was cast down to eat dust every day of it's life, it's the same thing was the Dragon being cast down out of heaven. The dragon in Revelations 12 is called the "old serpent".

The best thing about religion is that you are able to believe that. Those things I am not sure about but I love discovering them. I love watching all the stuff on history channel about the bible. So interesting.

Mistake? laugh

"All you billions of Christians are wrong in your interpretation! I know, I'm an agnostic" laugh

And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

This is God cursing satan and telling him that he will be despised above all creatures of the earth and that Satan will be forced to live on earth throughout his life. I don't believe that God was talking to a snake, because we see in Revelation 12 that Satan is called the "serpent of old", which ties it back to Genesis 3.

You should edit that post rabbit. Stating that someones God is evil is very offensive. I am ashamed of you.

You laugh at mine which has actual quotes about the serpent and you say yours is correct because they both eat dust. I don't think Im the one stretching here.

again from the net

Adam blamed Eve for his sin: "She gave me of the tree" (Gen. 3,12). Eve blamed the serpent: "The serpent beguiled me, and I did eat" (Gen. 3,13). The serpent did not blame the devil - he made no excuse.
