SOTU speeches are nice, but there is no time for details. This is good, especially for Trump since he has little in-depth knowledge of most topics. Obama rebuilt the economy after the Bush debacle and did so slowly partially because of the GOP, but also to keep inflation down and not increase the debt further than he had to and Keep the deficit hawks (GOP at the time) quiet. Yes, Trump has increased growth, but at the cost of much higher levels of projected debt that our children and grandchildren will have to battle. This is only one glaring example of what Trump does not tell you in detail.

I am OK with this. I actually think a good law to pass would be that if you are running for, or elected to public office, your sources of income and tax returns should be public. It should just come with the territory. The public should always know that their interests come first for you, and not those of some special interest group.

This should not be a Republican vs Democrat thing. This should be a bi-partisan agreement for any politician, especially the President, to disclose their taxes. It WAS a tradition for 30 years. If you are working for Russia then you wouldn’t want to show the tax returns and that seems to be the case.

Mr. Trump gave an EXCELLENT State of the Union Address. Many high points. Great guests introduced, even a Happy Birthday song. I believe he played Pelosi like a fiddle. He introduced Vice Prez Pence, passed on introducing Pelosi and went right to the First Lady. a woman of class.
Pelosi looked foolish thumbing through the papers he had given her. If sshe was a student in a grade school, the teacher would have taken the papers away and told her to sit still and listen. All in all, i was quite pleased with the speech.
