Well well well... Here we have Indianadave4 generalizing all mature women, thinking we're all obese unattractive people. Nevr said ALL. However, when viewing profiles in my area the count is around 40-50%. Generalizations: you mean like the one that women use that "ALL MEN" want is sex? Not all women are excessively overweight. In fact it seems that many of the BBW women can only see two sizes of women: 1. BBW's 2. Anerexic Barbie's There are a whole lot of sizes in between. There are women who haven't taken care of themselves and yet they try to verbally emasculate men who have tried to take care of themselves. Many say they are happy the way they are. That's their choice: just stop verbally abusing men because we don't find obesity attractive. Yes, at my age women will have a (real) FEW extra pounds and a few wrinkles. This is not a problem. It's when the weight becomes exccessive that it becomes unattractive and no amount of appealing to "just go by personality" will change human nature. Most men and, yes, women want someone who they are somewhat physically attracted to. Ok....I double dog dare you to read my profile and find one time in there where I generalize,emasculate, itemize or put any restrictions whatsoever on a man...also tell me where I have posted an old photo or lied about myself in anyway. Not all men lie about themselves, neither do all women...but when either one starts all this complaining B.S. it's not hard to understand ONE reason they are still single....again...jmo 
In """general""" women who are obese are the biggest complainers towards men who don't accept their fat as beautiful. Maybe you are ONE who hasn't but there are plenty here and on other sites wo do this. The topic is is Why is it so Hard for Oler Women. Well maybe women should listen to men instead of constantly complain. I'll repeatyour comment, "it's not hard to understand ONE reason they are still single". The older women get the more they compain about men. 
I will be 64 in a couple of months....I'm not complaining about men...and I know many women on this site AND others who aren't either. I would like to think that women and men listen to the other and not complain about every little thing. It's easy to do that on sites like these..we have so much freedom to say what we have on our mind and who cares, for nobody knows us anyway. 
I understand your aversion to someone being obese.But some of these women and men have no control over it..I said SOME...and the ones I know who are obese, have poor self esteem. Very few are happy with their bodies. Maybe what you are missing is NOT them wanting you to like their bodies, but see them for who they REALLY are. Most large men and women have beautiful facial features, and they have a MIND...they can and do care about the world at large and other people. Being obese doesn't make them bad people. Maybe the fault lies within yourself, not the OLDER obese people. JMO of course
The adversion is in the area of "Dating and Romance". I have female friends who are overweight: that's no problem. Being an obese person doesn't make them a bad person: for many men they do not make a good romantic partner. I recieve messages from women on this site who are obese and when i say, "Thanks but no thanks" they get angry and defensive. One was verbally abusive. |

Over all obesity is a life style choice. The obese individuals always say dieting and caloric intake restriction doesn't work. Yet, thousands of these same people every year have bariatric surgery and loose lots of weight. To make a long story short: bariatric surgery is a FORCED DIET. There is no cheating once this surgery takes place. The reason it works: the person can only eat up to 4oz of food at a sitting. If this "forced" diet works a regular diet should work. No change has been made to their matabilism by the surgery. Why get so bent out of shape: because 1/2 of the eligable single women, my age, in my area are or border on this size and it greatly reduces the selection. Subtract from the remainder women who smoke and the pickings get slim. From what I've read of women's posts many have the same complaint of men. Many men's lunch hangs well over their belt. A few extra pounds and some wrinkles: no problem. In fact when holding or hugging a woman with a few extra pounds it can be a source of fun to give a gently pinch. |

What I see happening to both men and women, is that they don't look after themselves physically and that is akin to aging, because you are not fit enough to enjoy life, have no energy, and look gruesome naked. So who wants a fat, gruesome mate with no energy, and health issues? I'm 58 and still play hockey. I notice women young enough to be my daughter, even grand daughter checking me out, because I have a fit body. So many people give up early on themselves and forget that people run marathons in their 80's. So why can't people in their 50's be fit? If you chose to turn into a couch potato and no one wants you, who's to blame. You control your destiny. If you steer your ship into a reef don't blame anyone but yourself. If you're not appealing its your doing, stop griping and look after yourself. let's see a photo, if you're so confident

It isn't hard to find a date if you SMILE. This goes for men, women, girls, boys, older women, older men, plump women, pudgy men...just smile, willya?
I was checking out the profiles and there were so many attractive men in our age group...except that they were scowling in their photos! Come on, fellas! Do YOU want to be seen with a lady who looks like someone just peed on her Wheaties? Of course you don't...so why should we? Granted, my photo isn't the most fetching in the world, but at least I'm smiling. And I make it a point to smile often, and at just about everybody...young, old, well-dressed, kids with pink hair...doesn't matter to me, I give 'em all a cheery smile. Very few people--very few indeed--fail to smile back.
