that's when you turn them down.i've been asked out by 40 yr olds and even a 23 yr old,for crying out loud..why in the world would some one that young be interested in a grandmother figure? beats me.

Funny, there was just a program on tv about this subject tonight.. Very interesting...a 73 yr old lady in NYC was going out with a 40 yr old and they had a great time and were going out again.. I always tell the young guys "thanks" but I don't date younger than my kids.. I would feel like I was dating my grandsons friends..lol

It all depends on what you are dating for.
Why can't you just look at it like being friends & let go of the age thing.
I have always tried to stay with in 10 years either side of my own age.
There might have been a few exceptions?

Gossipm hit it on the head when she said to give the "nice" guys a chance. Alot of women, especially middle aged go for looks or money or hold out for some "storybook" guy that isn't out there. Give us regular guys a chance. Sure, I like to look at women, younger and older, but I would rather go out with one my age or a few years older. I was seeing this gal, we met at through work going out the the gang after hours, she made it clear she was available for dating. When I found out she was just 34 and she found out I was 49 things came to a slow halt. I thought she was older, and she thought I was much younger.

I'm in a relationship for a yr now and I am 11 yrs older than her. We have a great time too. Maybe on the third or fourth date I asked her "You do know how old I am don't you?"
She told me exactly what my age was. I replied that "I just wanted to make sure you knew."

I agree, Guy! I know there are nice guys out there & we have to give all guys a chance to find the good ones. I'm no man basher or man hater. Heck, if I was I wouldn't be here! I haven't found any decent guy yet & I'm not looking for a fairy tale type Prince Charming but I feel like I'm hitting my head against a brick wall in searching for a good guy. All I'm running into are the jerks!

Older ladies find love where I work. I just love putting them in bed and tucking in their covers for them. Its nice to help them get up in the mornings and brush their hair.

I work at the nursing home. I never found a place I fit in so much and work like this that I enjoy so much. And they say that the Navy is just not a job but an adventure. It hardly ever gets boring for me.

Hi Rainbow I used to work in a nursing home too. I worked in a regular hospital before that. I just loved the nursing home & I can understand just what you're saying! The elderly are so appreciative of what's done for them (well most of them...I have run into a few) & it's so rewarding even though the work is hard! What are you, a nurse, aid or what?

I am a cna. We have the registered nuts, The little peon nuts, the certifiable nuts almost and then we have the real nuts. You don't have to be nuts to work here but it helps.

I don't know if age has all that much to do with finding love.
I think perhaps the older we get the more we know what we want and aren't really willing to settle for anything less.
At least thats the way is for me.

Being a little nuts really helps when working with the elderly. You have to have a sense of humor on that job, don't you? I take it you work 2nd trick? I always did & put them to bed. That's cool that you're a CNA! When I was still able to work, nurse aides didn't have to be certified so I guess you could call me a peon. Yep! I was a very tired peon but I'll always treasure the memories when I worked in that home!

I agree with you, Betts. I now no what I want but am willing to be a little flexible. Still, I'm finding jerks. I know that there are good ones out there but they seem to be fewer of them!

Trust me I have found my share of jerks, but I am not willing to stay with them ,whereas when I was younger I tended to overlook a lot more than I will now.
