What ever happened to courtship? Where did it go?


To this who forgot what it means, Ha ha....
This was the process where the man expressed an interest in the pretty lady and sought her attentions by taking her to movies, walking her home from school/beach/dinner/shows, escorting her to the dance/parites, buying her dinner/lunch, etc., WITHOUT repeast WITHOUT seeking any sexual favors from her.

Are men not interested in doing so anymore?
Are women not interested in a man who will do such a thing?

Women arnt really interested in most of that anymore for the most part. I see men try to do things this way and they end up looking like "nice guys"a.k.a. losers.

there are a few of us who still are "old fashioned valued" and yet there is something to say for the let's get past all of that.. But a lot of women are just as bad as the men when it comes to NOT having those values.....its jump into the sack and see if we are compatiable..

As far as values go, to most they are no longer valued. It is sad to see chivalry die.

Yes it is a bummer But at the risk of appearing to be a loser nice guy as mirror says I still believe and anybody wants to argue that can say it to my face !

Some of us still hope for it, but know that it only happens in movies.

from what SOME women have told me is that men will do it in the beginning and then it just stops,so they rather the man not open the door for them at all

i don't believe at all that a man who does this is a loser nice guy...
if anything it shows he has respect and morals... hell... i know what he means though but.. i want a man kick it with watching a game with a few buckets of beer... in my jeans and heels... wearing a ponytail and wing sauce on my face... with him being rowdy with the boys and scratching his twins... all while still opening my doors, picking me up and being a gentleman as well...

My current bf believes in courtship. He has spoken to me, even if only for a min, every day since our first phone conversation (nearly 6 months now). On our first date he brought flowers, took me to a very nice restaurant, then to a movie, and finally we walked around town talking for hours. It was the best date I have been on.

times are changing, and not for the better, it seems, and everyone expects......... and because of fear of getting hurt, or just plain selfishness, those values will only be coveted by those who have the stoutest of hearts, via, who wants to look like a sap, and a puzzywhip, for that's how the majority of women precieve it now, and the don't covet it, they take advantage, then see vulnerability, then crush it. i see it time and time again here.

most, not all, even still, want bad boys, and it's getting worse, for that seems to be the trend growing at an exponential rate
i guess you could say, it's stimulating, and always changing, for the badboy cares little, and the girl will follow....tuduloo, lol.
