I don't know, but I sure have a problem with it Being serious, at least for a second... I think women in general may struggle more because of how much emphasis is put on them to look like the models these days pressure them to look. I wonder if this may affect younger women more than older - I'm comfortable with myself and have not felt that influence so much. Some of my friends have though, and I find that sad. Do you men feel pressured in some of those same ways? |

I hate to sound so Naive. But i had asked a question on another post about rejection. And it just thru me back that a young 19 year old Caucasian Woman, said She hates when she gets rejected because of her race. *Pertaining to dating.* What am i missing? Why am i surprised at her statement? Racial preferences will never go away. If it's not white vs. black, than its olive skin versus frickle white, or dark brown versus light brown. She should move on, find others to date, I strongly doubt everyone rejects her, regardless of skin. amen, not only that but alot of times people are SCARED of that which they are not familiar,,,,,,some of the 'non black' men I have dated have shared with me that their first interracial experience only happened because the female approached them people assume that other races wont be interested and so they dont approach them and others are just not interested in rocking the boat of their family tradition(in those families where interracial is tabu) |

not all people of all races are OK with dating from any race. It may be cultural, family preferences, or personal preferences not something I think about much as my sons girls are thai and vietnamese |

Why am i surprised at her statement? Why are you surprised? Because of her skin color? I guess it would depend on who her intended interest was or what their preference is........... |

And it just thru me back that a young 19 year old Caucasian Woman, said She hates when she gets rejected because of her race. What am i missing? Why am i supprised at her statement? well, if she was talking about dating, my first guess would be the common correlation that both youth and 'whiteness' have in this culture to 'beauty' standards the other is probably because of the cultural trend for minority males to date white women, people assume it is the NORM and so it is 'surprising' to hear otherwise if she was talking about other opportunities, I dont understand either for the aforementioned reason that being young is an asset in our culture as is being 'caucasian' |

What has aged me? The stresses of every day life. Children. Work. Growing old and know I'm getting older every day. Afraid that I won't achieve what I want in life. Missing my Dad. |
