Personally, I consider lying to be part of "evil". Which gets kind of paradoxical. How could evil let itself into the world?

Another issue: Is there is difference between a lie that is intended to deceive, and a lie that is based on a misunderstanding? That is, if one is confused about something and passes on false information, but honestly believes it is true, does that have any bearing on "evil"? If so, why? If not, why not?

Just tryin' to undertsand the whole picture.
Yes, even though there would be no culpability with our Creator if we truly believed what we did or said was correct, it would still have the ability to prolificate evil! Understand though, that not all that happens is acted on! hope that helps!

Actually the thread topic brings to mind one of my favorite scriptures:

http://bible.cc/mark/11-23.htm

The key is.. nothing is Impossible if you have Faith to Believe.

But you have to Truly Believe..not just HOPE.... but TRULY BELIEVE.

Exactly, for the first time in recorded history. During this generation the technology exists to send messages all over the world in he twinkling of an eye! I believe that the mountain of evil acts can be eliminated from the face of this planet if enough people will get on the same thought at the same time. I truely believe that. But somehow some way we as the human race must find a common ground or belief that makes sense. We have got to move past the idea that one group of people is more deserving of prosperity than another. We can not keep killing in the name of our beliefs. The men that wrote the letters, poems, and proverbs that we now call the Bible, had no idea that sometime later they would be used to form the largest club in the world. We need to be careful about what we believe in. I believe in Love! True agape Love! For those of you who do not know what agape love is, It is when you love someone with no expectation of receiving any thing in return. P.S. God is Love!

To some it probably is, but then again, anything can be an Idol! For some its money, or sex, or houses, or even their religion, or personal beliefs!

Guess no one wants to take a chance on that one! understandable, after all, we have nothing to fear but fear itself.

Actually the bible warns about staying away from anything that presents itself to be magical or of sorcery!

Sorry, didn't mean to upset you, you can call it anything you want, but it is still a deception. That is the whole problem with most organized religions, they deceive to get stuff!

I'm not upset.

It's just that to believe in a God is to believe in magic. All a God is, is an all-powerful magician.

People just veiw the source of the magic in different ways, and call it different names.

The Bible demands that no other magicians be recognized before theirs.

Other religions have their own beliefs. Some religions believe that there are many magicians. Some religions believe that we are the magicians. And of course some people think the universe was just a big accident somehow and that there are no such things as magicians.

I just tell the truth.

I don't know whether there are any magicians or not.

If there are any magicians I can only hope that they have some respect for truth.

Truth is all I know.

And the truth is that I don't know.

If truth isn't good enough for the magicians (if they exist) then I guess I'm in big trouble.

Weellllll..I hope you are incorrect!

There is no such thing as magic!

So you're an atheist?

Everyone who believes in a God believes in magic.

Gods are magicians!

Most people who believe in Gods also believe in ghosts and demons too.

In fact, if you believe in Jesus you have to believe in ghosts and demons.

Jesus cast out demons.

And when he was resurrected he was a ghost.

Any religious person who says that there is no such thing as magic clearly has no concept of what magic even is.

sorry my friend - then you should have made it a little clearer for us - the "mark of the beast is: 6 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: {to receive: Gr. to give them}

17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the

>>>>>mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.<<<<<<

- so if your talking about the "mark" being the lie. or the "beast" being the lie, you should have stated such - less confusing don't you think?

Both me and miles took it to mean you saying - 666 - which of course is not true as to what your meaning - now i understand, i think, that you mean - the mark the beast gives to mankind correct?

if not please explain succinctly what your reffering to? thnx
My six year old actually pointed it out to me! Shortly after he asked me if God was an alien, and yes it was a trick question!

All sin starts with religion.

If a person isn't religious then it's not a sin to not treat another as we want to be treated.

It's just plain stupid. flowerforyou

Thier is apperenntly a lie that can be told and not be sin. Abraham lied and said sarah was his sister and not his wife to keep her from being harmed.

Yahshua spoke of putting yourself on the line to protect also.

So it is questionable. But what is a lie compared to somebodies life/harm if you are risking harm to yourself out of love for others. Shalom...Miles

What are you saying. Do you even understand what I said?
All who are truley part of the family of God are brothers and sisters!

Of course Obama wants people arrested, some people need to be arrested. But not very many. The problem is that there is not enough money to take care and council and educate people who have problems to the extent they no longer want to do smaller crimes. And of course don't forget the money thing. Prisons are very profitable at the taxpayers expense!

Ok, Christ was speaking in an analogy, a mountain in the spirit world can be anything! It can be corrupt teachings, terroism, killing of people, hatred, any thing that would be are large thing to deal with! Mustard seed was one of the smallest seeds that was cultived intentionally by humans about two thousand years ago. It was also the seed that produced on of the strongest spices used in those days! Have a great day! Love ya all
