Im cant tell what your question is addressing exactly but I found yet another cause to stone someone in the Old Testament.
For touching Mount Sinai Whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death. Exodus 19:13 19:13 There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount. |

Wow, imagine if they did a Mt. Rushmore job on Sinai |

I assumed it was supposed to be "How" small is a mustard seed. A reference to the passage about if your faith is as small as a mustard seed, you would be able to move mountains.

Any comments out there? Ok, I'll bite...
A mustard seed is about half a millimeter in diameter. A mountain is a mass of earth that sticks up higher than the surrounding earth, generally several thousand feet. Take it away! |

That faith-moving-mountains thing I learned in Sunday School so I'm not sure what to discuss about it. Maybe I should just pat myself on the back and see where my pride takes me. Maybe Krisma can stone me until I am the size of a mustard seed.

My sarcasm was just a way to dance around the subject like everyone else.

Discussion forum posts like these illustrate so very well the two major problems facing religion (any religion, not just Xtianity) today:
First, the insistence on the part of religious hierarchy that sacred writings must be interpreted in concrete, rather than figurative, terms. While this may constitute job security for unimaginative clerics more bent on controlling people than instilling reverence for divinity, it also creates a sense of vagueness and unreality around those teachings and reduces their credibility as a whole among educated and uneducated people alike. Secondly: The average person of faith tends to be less well educated and capable of expression/communication than the average heathen. People of intelligence start to gain the impression that religious figures (Jesus, the Buddha, Mohammed, Moses, etc.) were just a bunch of dorks who went around shooting their mouths off and getting more than their fair share of attention, rather than men and women who were enlightened, intelligent, and highly educated. yours in Chaos, Scarlett |

I still don't know much to say about it but I hope those in need can remember that simple lesson at a time when they need it most.
