"Joe" bought a raccoon-hunting dog from "Dave". Dave told Joe that this dog was really good and that it would bark the right number of times to tell how many raccoons were up a tree. Joe, being an avid raccoon hunter, was a bit skeptical, but anxious to try. So he took the dog out hunting that very night. In short order, the dog picked up a trail, tracked it, and treed. When Joe got to the base of the tree, the dog sat down and barked one time. Joe shined his light up into the tree to see that, sure enough, there was a set of eyes glowing back at him. He fired the shot and the furry critter fell out of the tree. After rewarding the dog, He started walking through the woods again. Once again, the dog picked up a trail, tracked, and treed. This time, when Joe got to the bottom of the tree, the dog barked 3 times. Again, Joe dropped 3 raccoons. This went on for some time, until about midnight. This time, Joe walked up to the base of the tree to find the dog with a HUGE stick in its mouth, shaking his head and pacing around the bottom of the tree. Thinking that the dog had suddenly gone mad, and not knowing what to do, Joe shot the dog. The next day he called Dave to complain about the dog. Dave, yelled at him, saying,"You idiot! That dog wasn't going mad! He was trying to tell you that there were more raccoons in that tree than you could shake a stick at!"

M*A*S*H is my all-time favorite sitcom. I also liked Happy Days, Barney Miller, Gilligan's Island and That 70's Show. Other than those, I'm not into sitcoms.

Don't panic yet. It could be just a matter of nervous because you had unprotected sex. Give it another couple of weeks and do a home pregnancy test, and don't panic.

Sometimes what is attractive or unattractive is more about what's inside, than on the outside. If he was willing to do crap like this, then he may have been radiating "creepy" and that's why no one found him to be attractive.
And I agree that most of the time "insanity" is a lame excuse, and not at all accurate or appropriate.

If you consider religions to be defined by how each person has experienced their own spirituality, then there are potentially as many religions as there are people on the face of this earth. Granted, there are lots of people who don't believe in anything or who haven't experienced a spirituality that they can associate with, which reduces the number considerably. Also, the people who want to limit "religion" to what a group of people can agree on or what any particular "religious" book says (dogma), also reduce the number of religions considerably. I think the point behind religion is how each person experiences and can relate to and connect with spirituality and/or higher power.
I, personally, would prefer to find the tidbits of truth that are scattered through-out the "religions" of the world, as I believe that we all have a small part of the truth inherent in us. I also believe that the truth supports and is supported by Nature, in the big, over-all picture. To each his/her own.

Incidentally, on a side note along these lines, the witch trials/executions in the USA officially only claim that witches were hanged. However, the early colonists did burn one accused witch at the stake. When the woman said, during the burning, that there were angels coming for her and she could see them, the American colonists lost their stomaches for burning witches. They didn't want to know that they were wrongly accusing and murdering a Christian, and after that every accused witch was hanged. I don't know if it was in Salem or another town. Salem, to this day denies that this burning happened, and it is a very obscure reference when a person can find it. I wish I could remember where I saw that. Sorry, historical footnote in obscurity, and a bit off topic.

You know, as much as I would like to be dating, I don't get to very often. I would like to know what it takes to be just asked out by someone who isn't a drunk or a stoner, and whose IQ is higher than his shoe size.

I would suppose that the answer to your question is going to depend based on personality and how serious you intend to be with him. Is the chemistry there? Has he mentioned any plans or goals? Etc.

Does anyone have a recipe for peanut butter pudding? I've had it one time (I believe that I was in the south) and I can't find a recipe for it. If the recipe calls for honey or other unprocessed, all-natural sweetener, or can be easily adapted that way, then it will be a bonus. But I will just as happily settle for the processed sugar version, if that's the only one out there. Thanks.

I don't know if anyone is interested, but there are many flowers that are also edible. Nasturtuim leaves are really good in a salad with leaf lettuce and spinach leaves. And dandelion greens are great with hard cheese curds and vinegrette dressing.

I don't think you can be sued in most states under the good samaritan law, but I also don't know if they have it everywhere. I'm going to take a CPR and first aid class in a month or two for my job. (I just recently started driving bus part time.) We, my trainers and I, had an incident just as we got to the casino with a group of senior citizens about a month ago. A lady ended up with her sugar bottoming out as she was getting off the bus. She had eaten breakfast earlier than usuall, and we got to the casino a bit later than expected, and the combination wreaked havoc on her system. We had to get some pop into her, and when she quit shaking, and got steady, we made sure that she went to eat right away. It was a little unsettling. I'm glad that her husband and my trainers were there. I don't really want to take the class, but I'm sure that it will be the best for all parties involved. I just hope that I never have to use those skills.

I believe in God, but I think that it is wrong to limit diety to any one book's or religions's description of god. In limiting god, we are trying to make god into our own image, and god can appear to anyone in any form.

My violas that I bought as plants from the local nursery have started producing seeds. I know that violas are supposed to be perrenials, but I may also try to start some of the seeds, too, just to see if they will grow for me. Besides, there is no gaurantee that the (allegedly perrenial) violas will come back, since Garrison, ND, sometimes gets hit really hard in the winter. One morning in January, we got down to -50, more or less.

Neat picture.

OK, not to seriously back-track here, but Abra, I noticed as I was flipping through the much earlier pages of this thread that you were at one time looking for bulbs that would last longer than a year or two for your labyrinth garden. You may want to watch for places where old houses used to stand. They may be in a field, or in the woods along a country road. Sometimes the houses are still standing, but often they are not. Anywhere you see a gazzillion daffodils or tulips or other bulbous-originating flowers around these places they will keep producing for years. These bulbs are the originals, not the junk hybrids that they market these days that only produce for 1-3 years. Often, people are willing to let you thin out their bulbs that they've had for years just so that they don't get over-crowded. My Gramma just gave my Mom two buckets of daffodills this spring. There are 2 or 3 varieties, which Mom will be planting this fall. The old bulbs are much better quality.
