IMO, Gearhead...the point is not quite so moot. By bringing up the paralyzed scenario, I was trying to "gently" explain that just because a man's genitalia doesn't function, that does not mean he cannot enjoy a fulfilling sex life...take my word for it... What I was "gently" implying is that a sexual predator does not need a functioning pen!$ ( don't know if that word is still taboo here) in order to molest or torture a child...see my point? Neutering is not a viable option. How fulfilling of a sex life could the guys have with a limp noodle? Unless maybe if you brought duct tape and popsicle sticks into the scenario..... That's still apples and bananas though. Being able to raise the pole doesn't necessarily mean that you'll do anything with it if you have no flag to put on it. In fact, several states allow sex offenders to be castrated in lieu of jail time because of the drop in testosterone (and hopefully sex drive). This isn't a cure-all, but in some cases I certainly think it's a better solution than the alternatives. |

What is interesting is that people will say "Homosexuals didn't choose to be that way! They can't change!!!!!", but they somehow think that pedophiles can. If you can't choose / change your sexual orientation, why do you think pedophiles can? Prison for life or execution, their choice. It very well may be true that pedophilia is wired into those peoples brains (much like homosexuality) and can't be changed, but is a life jail sentence or execution the answer? We live in a society that leans more towards rejuvenation rather than punishment, so how would either of those punishments be either fair or productive (in the sense of fixing the root of the problem). Sure, locking them up or legally killing them will keep them away from kids, but is it right to punish somebody for something that may be beyond their control? Besides, the upkeep of prisoners isn't cheap and have you seen our national debt lately? Wouldn't a more fit solution be neutering? It's fast, easy, cheap and possibly effective while leaving those people capable of being a productive part of society. Mind you...I'm not a trained psychologist...but it's been my understanding that most pedophiles & sexual offenders were in fact, molested as children themselves. Of course, this does not give them an "excuse" for their behavior...but I did find it interesting that his brother is also a sexual predator (still researching Kevin Willis & don't have all the facts...yet). Sounds like this issue is "All In The Family"... And I'm not so sure that neutering is a viable option. Our brains are our largest sexual organ...whether "normal" or twisted & diseased. I, myself have dated several men in wheelchairs who were...for lack of a better term..."neutered" by paralysis...& they still had the same sexual desires regardless of whether their genitalia function or not. Just food for thought... We may never know exactly what drives people to become that way, but one possibility may be that they were abused as kids. Seeing as his brother is the same way, maybe it could be genetic???? Yes, it's still not an excuse for the things that they do to other people, but where is the justice in taking somebodies life over something that they may have no control over? Well, the paralyzed guys may still have sexual desires, but if they can't act upon them, it's sorta a moot point. For instance, how many of us wouldn't have minded pushing somebody off of a tall building at one time or another, but we didn't. There's a BIG difference between having thoughts and acting upon them. |

So I've seen. Good job! The closest I can come to 2 A's in mildly recent history is a couple of B's a couple years ago, but things didn't work out with her.

I spend half my time wishing it was legal to kill automotive engineers after dealing with the outcome of their incompetency..... That's why I want to actually do work on semis before I do engineering. That would probably be a good idea. I swear half the auto engineers never touched a wrench in their lives! They need to though. It's not just the auto industry though, it's that way in pretty much every thing. That's true. It would be nice if the people who design remote controls would actually spend more time watching TV. Maybe they'd start laying out the buttons more universally so it doesn't take me 5 minutes to remember how to change the channel every time I go to a different room!
Yeah, My remotes have a button for a light, but GL trying to find the SOB in the dark. lol. Makes alot of sense there. If you can find the button for the light you don't need the light! Not much unlike my house. My dining room is the first 'major' room you come into when coming through the front door, but the switch for the light is at the opposite end of the room! Then again, sometimes I think the guy who built my house was pretty well drunk the whole time he designed it...... Sounds like the same guy that built the house I grew up in. lol  Then maybe you can tell me what the other wall switch in the dining room does. I've spent YEARS trying to figure out it's purpose to no avail.
