Yes it is intense and I too hope people read it and get a message out of it. It was supposed to turn out to be a Halloween poem, but I got veered off in another direction while in the third stanza of this poem. Thanks Michele and Bonny Miss.

The Cemetary
The Cemetary "Shhh...listen to the sounds Do you hear what I hear?" "The wind is whispering through the trees Does your soul show fear?" "Welcome to the cemetary of evil Where there are many tales." "Of the many souls that have died here That have seen many hells." The creaking sound from the gate Sends a chill down your spine, The black cat hisses on the fence Who once had nine lives. "Come with me, I am your host." Said the gruesome figure in black, "I will lead you through a journey of tales And hope you'll never come back." As he leads you through the gate You shudder at your knees, Walking past the tombstone shadows An owl hoots in the trees. The host stops the crowd with a hand As he points to a grave, "Here lies a pitiful soul, Who thought that he would be brave." "He thought he was invincible Didn't have to wear a seatbelt, It won't ever happen to me Was the way he felt." "Well...he met his fate with me For I am the Angel of Death, For when he crashed in that wall I got what was left." "Come with me, let's continue please For we have a ways to go, I have lots of other tales you see Upon which I will bestow. For the souls in this cemetary Are the stupid ones beyond belief, For the decisions they have made That put them in grief." "Now as we round this corner Here lies Elmer McNye, He found his way to me quickly By being a DUI." "Why people think they are Superman With alcohol through their veins, Is beyond me," shaking his head "What have they got to gain?" "Now over here, this happy soul Found his way to hell with his death, For he found his joy of choice By messing with the drug crystal meth." "He got a little too much And found himself overdosed, Sent him to the hospital In the state of comatose." "It didn't take long before I knew That he would wind up being mine, I have no mercy on these souls When they lay their life on the line." "Now what say you there, standing and shaking How are you living your life?" "Are you messing with drugs and alcohol Fooling around on your wife?" "Don't wind up like these poor old souls For these over here committed suicide, Because they couldn't handle every day life Or take things in stride." "Come on and live a clean life And you may go through these gates here, Where the clouds are white and streets of gold And the skies are blue and clear." I saw the opening and decided to change I knew how I wanted to live, I did away with the drugs and alcohol And to the Man, my life I give. I want the streets of gold and pearly gates Where the skies are clear and blue, Now if you took this walk with the Angel of Death What would you do? |

I Have Bats In My Belfry
I Have Bats In My Belfry I've been told many a time I have bats in my belfry, Does this mean that I'm crazy Or just that I'm carefree? I don't feel anything flying around In that empty space, Who could reside up there anyways In that lonesome place? If I have bats in my belfry At least I'd have friends, That keep that space occupied And loosens up the ends. They'll keep my head on straight And out of a mess, They'll make decisions for me And do what's best. But bats only have radar That's their only honing in skill, They can't see worth a crap For the bugs they have to kill. I guess when they move around I'll know my brain is in gear, But when it feels empty up there That's when I have to fear. |

Beware! The Witching Hour
Beware! The Witching Hour The witches coven gathers Just shortly before the midnight hour, They start boiling their black cauldron So they can enhance their power. They put spider legs in the brew And some eye of newt, While a little ugly gremlin Plays a harp on a root. They wear their cloaks of black And their pointy tall hats, They have their brooms aside them With their evil black cats. You can hear them do their cackling While they stir and chant, When the witching hour comes The ghouls will begin to dance. The moon is full with its face As it sits way up nigh, A few minutes more before twelve And the ghouls will begin to fly. It's All Hallows Eve this night When the demons will celebrate, Make sure you go out early Don't stay out too late. |

I Have A Redneck Daughter, You Gotta Redneck Son They believe in wearing cammo They believe in the rebel flag, They didn't like the flag of change Congress was a drag. Four-wheelers are their toys Huntin with bows and guns, I have a redneck daugher You gotta redneck son. Mossy Oak and Remington Are their favorite brands, Bluegrass and country music With some of the their favorite bands. Eatin at The Road Kill Cafe With possum on a bun, I have a redneck daughter You gotta redneck son. Coon huntin around midnight Spittin from a plug, Sittin round the fireplace On top of a bear skin rug. These are the activities Till the early morning sun, I have a redneck daughter You gotta redneck son. |

Take Me Through A Journey
Take Me Through A Journey Take me through a journey Of rainbows and fields of green, With days filled with sunshine The prettiest I've ever seen. Where our path is an eternity Endless and filled with love, The joy you bring to my heart Will be more than enough. Take me through a journey Where clouds float in a field of blue, The wind whispers upon your face Dancing in a field of golden hue. We can lay under that big oak tree With the picnic basket you made, Enjoying the company of each other Until in the horizon, the sun will fade. Take me through a journey Where the stars twinkle at night, The man in the moon smiles down With his glow shining so bright. Listening to the crickets of the evening While we listen to their song, When we look into each others eyes We know nothing can go wrong. |

The Colors Of Fall
The Colors Of Fall As the season of death creeps in Little does he know, That with the change of life The beauty that will show. The changing of the leaves With colors of brown, red and gold, Will be the luster of beauty That stands out so bold. Although Spring has its colors And growing life abounds, The colors of Fall are resilient As the leaves float around. The changing of the leaves With colors of brown, gold and red, Will be welcoming in winter When things will soon be dead. Enjoy it while you can Because it won't last long, All things beautiful Will soon be gone. But then, when old man winter Slips in with all his might, Things will be a lustrous Ground covering of white. |
