The Cemetary "Shhh...listen to the sounds Do you hear what I hear?" "The wind is whispering through the trees Does your soul show fear?" "Welcome to the cemetary of evil Where there are many tales." "Of the many souls that have died here That have seen many hells." The creaking sound from the gate Sends a chill down your spine, The black cat hisses on the fence Who once had nine lives. "Come with me, I am your host." Said the gruesome figure in black, "I will lead you through a journey of tales And hope you'll never come back." As he leads you through the gate You shudder at your knees, Walking past the tombstone shadows An owl hoots in the trees. The host stops the crowd with a hand As he points to a grave, "Here lies a pitiful soul, Who thought that he would be brave." "He thought he was invincible Didn't have to wear a seatbelt, It won't ever happen to me Was the way he felt." "Well...he met his fate with me For I am the Angel of Death, For when he crashed in that wall I got what was left." "Come with me, let's continue please For we have a ways to go, I have lots of other tales you see Upon which I will bestow. For the souls in this cemetary Are the stupid ones beyond belief, For the decisions they have made That put them in grief." "Now as we round this corner Here lies Elmer McNye, He found his way to me quickly By being a DUI." "Why people think they are Superman With alcohol through their veins, Is beyond me," shaking his head "What have they got to gain?" "Now over here, this happy soul Found his way to hell with his death, For he found his joy of choice By messing with the drug crystal meth." "He got a little too much And found himself overdosed, Sent him to the hospital In the state of comatose." "It didn't take long before I knew That he would wind up being mine, I have no mercy on these souls When they lay their life on the line." "Now what say you there, standing and shaking How are you living your life?" "Are you messing with drugs and alcohol Fooling around on your wife?" "Don't wind up like these poor old souls For these over here committed suicide, Because they couldn't handle every day life Or take things in stride." "Come on and live a clean life And you may go through these gates here, Where the clouds are white and streets of gold And the skies are blue and clear." I saw the opening and decided to change I knew how I wanted to live, I did away with the drugs and alcohol And to the Man, my life I give. I want the streets of gold and pearly gates Where the skies are clear and blue, Now if you took this walk with the Angel of Death What would you do? |

I hope some will read this and learn from it, far too often folks think it is "ok" driving while intoxicated. Great sentiments expressed here Wolf One

Yes it is intense and I too hope people read it and get a message out of it. It was supposed to turn out to be a Halloween poem, but I got veered off in another direction while in the third stanza of this poem. Thanks Michele and Bonny Miss.
