I Have Bats In My Belfry

I've been told many a time
I have bats in my belfry,
Does this mean that I'm crazy
Or just that I'm carefree?
I don't feel anything flying around
In that empty space,
Who could reside up there anyways
In that lonesome place?

If I have bats in my belfry
At least I'd have friends,
That keep that space occupied
And loosens up the ends.
They'll keep my head on straight
And out of a mess,
They'll make decisions for me
And do what's best.

But bats only have radar
That's their only honing in skill,
They can't see worth a crap
For the bugs they have to kill.
I guess when they move around
I'll know my brain is in gear,
But when it feels empty up there
That's when I have to fear.
