And FYI when someone gives me their number;

If it was during the day, I'll probably call them that evening, and I'll
let them know that before we part ways.

If it was at night, I'll call them the following afternoon, and again
I'll say "I'll give you a call some time tomorrow".

This is one of those things I can't stand. Just like all other little
circle talk, and games involved in "meeting people". Just call her when
you feel you want to talk to her. It's not being "desperate" to talk to
someone you're interested in, and you asked for her phone number so
obviously you're interested. She gave it, so why would she mind talking
to you? Why wait to find out if there's more to it? What I do
recommend though is to avoid texting first to "test the waters". If
someone gives you their number, CALL them first, don't text.

That kinda reminds me of some candy I saw a few years back... It was a
"candy toothpaste", basically flavored sugar in a tube. What genius
thought that one up? lol

First of all, I'm very sorry for your loss, as well as the loss of a
fellow soldier. You're a very strong person for having been able to
cope with it.

As far as the topic;

Love is a very strange thing. I don't think I could say weather or not
it's possible to love someone you've never physically met, but what I
will say is just go with it. If you feel you have a real connection
with this guy, tell him. Be honest with him, and with yourself. He
took the chance and dove in headfirst to tell you how he feels, even if
you don't feel the same way, you should return the favor. I think if
more people would just take the chance and speak their mind, love
wouldn't be such a confusing thing.

I disagree, I prefer hard to get. Anything worth chasing is a
challenge...

I've got your solution. Don't try to play games or talk in circles,
just be direct, open, and honest. I don't mean be "easy" or even make
yourself look available, nothing wrong with playing hard to get. If
you're talking to a guy, and you're truly interested LET HIM KNOW, and I
mean not with subtle hints, most men have no clue how to read body
language or interpret hints. Even more so, if you're NOT interested, or
even if you don't know, LET HIM KNOW.

I can't really say how to "get a man" on a dating site, I'm fairly new
to the internet dating thing myself. In the real world though, if you
see a guy who interests you; for example you smile at him, he smiles
back; just talk to him. Don't always leave the first move up to him, he
may not know you have the slightest interest in him. Just say "Hi", at
the very least, that's usually enough to open him up.
