Unfortunately, that doesn't explain the sudden spikes, mostly at night, world wide sightings of these planes/drones that seems to be coordinated.

Considering people are posting pictures of the stars and calling them drones, probably all the lights in the sky, including private and government aircraft, are getting called drones.

The 'drones' are not planes. But they're definitely not drones either. I live in NJ and have seen them for myself. They are much larger, much brighter, and so much faster than any plane or drone, and they move differently. It's easy to see the difference between the government planes and the 'drones' because the planes have been flying in 2x2 formations every 2 minutes or so for the last few weeks. Driving home tonight I saw the craziest thing I've ever seen in the night sky. It looked like a star at first, until it started to become brighter and brighter and began almost strobing. Then it flew closer and I could almost see it, but the mini sun was too bright. That's when the planes began to change direction and fly in its path. But the 'drone' was unphased and stayed until 2 planes flew right by it, as though they couldn't see it. Then it began to leisurely fly parallel to the shoreline for two more minutes before zipping away, straight up to the stars. The entire experience was surreal.

I have recently heard that there is some highly explosive and volatile chemicals of some sort that the US government believes has been placed somewhere in the New Jersey or surrounding area for a another 9/11 type incident. I heard they are using these drones to sweep the land with infrared radar and cameras looking for any sign of it. they are keeping it quiet because they don't want to panic the public. that's what I heard quote and it sounded like it made a bit of sense.
